Wasn't sure where to post this.
Brand new to the forum and I noticed that I m not able to send private messages. i keep getting a "this action cannot be performed".
Anyone know why?

You need to make at least one post to be able to send a private message.

I too have just joined, and get a similar message.
In my case it was a reply to Vishal's welcome message, so not sure of the logic here.

The logic is that it'll try to keep spammers at bay who simply join forums to send spam to other members through Private Messages.

I agree. Too many people come here or to any other forums to SPAM others and this is not the way to go people.
