I forgot to ask this in my previous post, but what are some things I should look for in Coastal Directors? Can anyone reccommend me honest directors that care for their team and have intergrity? I was interested in Jeff Mills but I think he is way too busy to actually train me (not trying to be negative towards him at all). His site says if you call or email him he will respond. I emailed him twice and he never responded. I kind of figured his team was too big and he didn't have the time. Help anyone?

Training and coaching is KEY to success in the travel industry selling membership packages.
Have you done your due diligence? Apparently you have.
When choosing a director to work with what is important to consider is how experienced they are in marketing and willing to share that information with you, and who are their team leaders or their upline who is able to do a threeway with you when you need it. How experienced are they and do they have good product knowledge because while marketing is important, product knowledge is just as important, you need to know what you are really selling!
There are several ways to market the product, retail, B2B, and the biz opp.
Also consider what about after they become your director and collect the two sales that you owe them will they have time for you after that.
Selling this membership requires time to prospect and make calls to people are you commited to make those calls, Scot Chatron does some excellent calls and he said he makes about 120 calls plus per week. The closing center does not make the calls for you, the prospect has to first call them. Are you prepared and have the time to make the calls necessary and contact people?
You would need to buy leads from Coastal sources, and/or generate leads yourself thru a splash page, you will need a autoresponder to send emails, some systems like Contacttalk are expensive, also you will need to advertise heavily.
Good luck to you!
Terri

Hey Brittni, Jeff is my director and he is a good one. He will see your post on here and respond I'm sure. The main thing for any person researching Coastal is to make sure they can mesh with the person they choose as a director because you will be spending quite a bit of time with that person or at least you should be. I talk to Jeff at least weekly and sometimes several times a week. He is a GREAT director. But I do have just a little bit more hair than he does. But not that much.

onmyway Idea - hook up with Harold and you'll get both to help you. I am not in Coastal as yet - just exploring - so with this advice I have zero to gain.

Not sure - and you need to confirm w Harold - but it is my understanding that what Terri is talking about is provided.

Thanks, Bob, for the props! lol The call center does provide several splash pages with the website you get when you join. You can choose which one you like. There are lots of way to get traffic to the site and that is one thing your director will help you learn in detail.

I would also add to consider the type of marketing you are most interested in and work with someone who has experience in that area.
There are directors here who build their business through internet marketing and directors who build through belly to belly marketing. Some will do both...but it's worth asking the question if it is important to you to receive a specific type of coaching.
That being said, most of the larger groups will offer weekly training sessions so even if the person you choose is not an expert in certain areas, the weekly training will help cover those for you.
Good luck!

I put together an audio report addressing this, take a listen and should you have any questions...give me a ring:
23.5 Questions to ask before choosing a Coastal Director and 5 Dangerous activities all Coastal Directors are doing
Click the link below and request the information.
Personally I can tell you that I'm a hands on Director. I work directly with my team members....now, I don't hold their hand, so right in my manual I let them know that they'll be calling the shots. When they require assistance above the daily trainings I do...they'll want to call me ( I failed the mind reading coarse).
There are some great directors here, as you mentioned time is important as well. I'm more of a goto person for successful directors who are looking to increase their game. Making 5-13 personal sales on a weekly basis does bring attention to your game.
One caution I have for you is to know that you'll want to know how to run the business and do so at a profit. One thing I've seen in business over the years is how tough it can be on an absentee owner. An absentee owner is a business owner who does not run their business on a daily basis. So, let's just say you were a Surgeon and you bought a Subway franchise - You'd be an absentee owner as you'd focus your work on Surgery.
Absentee ownership requires a unique personality and a person who quickly understands business.
I ONLY use the Official Coastal Systems and Training methods. This avoids the #1 I've seen with Coastal which is a secret agenda, which some have to sell you stuff.
You'll want to work with a director who uses their membership. Some have used their membership, but ask them specifically when the last three times was that they used their membership. Ask for specifics of where they stayed and the cost to say. I'm in Orlando on vacation right now. I'm at the Celebration World Resort and paid $355 for the week. Last year I took over 12 weeks of vacation. I take my computer and cell phone with me. This business can be run from anywhere!
Best of luck to you, and if I can help...let me know.

How to pick a director? I would say that each director that ive seen post in here would be a good person to get started with. We all have great support groups and systems in effect. I think sometimes we get blinded by the success of the director we are looking at. To be as successful as them are you willing to do what they have done to get that way? I know I can speak for every successful director out there by saying they dont have a 100% success rate with team members. I know of extremely successful directors in this very forum that have had members leave their team and go to other teams. Now if the director was so successful then why would anyone in their right mind leave them? Its because the new person wasnt willing to do what it took to get to that success. It had nothing to do with the director. I say this to point out that many are looking to see who is the most successful and who makes the most money but understand that the decision lies with the individual and what they are willing to do to achieve that success.
My wife and I made over 10k in our first 7 weeks. Got featured in the HBC Magazine , won Rookie of the Year in the CSG in 2005 as we as were asked on to their leadership board and guess what we have teammates quit. I just had a teammate leave to go to another team after they didnt have success. Now to be honest they never worked their business. I spent hours teaching them but they never were committed. I want to say our success is do to the fact we had a WINNERS ATTITUDE, we followed a proven system and got plugged into this business. If you do that no matter who you pick as a director you will be successful.
Just my two cents on the matter. Im a bit outspoken in my post and I wish you ( I believe your name is Britni) the best in your search but I say dont focus as much on the director ( other than to make sure they are part of a good support group which all of us in here are) but rather focus on learning as much as you can on Coastal by plugging into the systems already in place.

How to Pick a Director/Team?
I say you need to align yourself with someone you "gel" with and who is at or going where you would like to go. Training and being available is key as well....their marketing methods are important; as an example if you want to work biz 2 biz and the Director you are speaking with has never done it and has no idea where to point you then you may be out of luck ( i will say the BOD training calls are awesome for this type of training ) .
Research, research and research.
I can say Jay is a hands on Director.
HTH,

Brittni,
I suggest you check out each and every website and call each and every director that consistently posts on these boards. We don't need to "sell" you anything because you already recognize the value of the Coastal. You just need to find someone that you feel comfortable working with. I spoke with a number of directors on the phone before deciding who I was going to work with.
I am with the Call Center, but no matter who you join with, you should take advantage of the official "jump start" program. Whoever you join with will be able to help you with that.

Law of attraction
get references (talk to the people they sponsor)
ask tough questions
see what systems they use and if those systems may or may not fit your marketing blueprint.
Pray about it before you join and God will lead you to the right one.

Hi OnMyWay!
I LOVE your screen name, btw! I haven't been around here for a while- the negative energy and infighting by a select vociferous few is something I do not wish to associate with- however I just happened to read your post.
I've been super busy over the summer but as it happens, I have just tonight FINALLY got my blog set up. If you want subcribe to it, I have written a report (where I am not suggesting I am the only honest, caring director in the world- I know of MANY!) that does give honest suggestions of what to look for in the right director for YOU.
You can swing by and pick it up at the blog itself, or send me an email and I will zip it off to you.
Cheers
