Because we are not selling travel thru a personal booking engine ro booking travel for others we do not have to worry about all the licensing, is what I understand.

If we pursue the IATA end of it, then it is different.

I may be wrong but I think that is how it is..

By the way - have any of you seen the new Official COA sites??

Really cool for online marketing - and long overdue, IMHO!

Hello Viola

this is taken directly from the FL state website

What is a Seller of Travel?
A Seller of Travel is any resident or nonresident person, firm, corporation, or business entity who offers for sale, directly or indirectly, at wholesale or retail, prearranged travel or tourist-related services for individuals or groups, through vacation or tour packages, or through vacation certificates in exchange for a fee, commission, or other valuable consideration. The term includes any business entity offering membership in a travel club or travel service for an advance fee or payment, even if no travel contracts or certificates or vacation or tour packages are sold by the business entity.

Ok if I was a new person looking at any home based business right now id be looking to run. All the last post seem like gloom and doom predictions.

Here is a good piece of advice. If you are serious about working from home and looking to make it your main source of income then treat it like a business. Look up the applicable laws in your state and act accordingly. Treat this as a true business venture. If you wanted to buy a franchise you would do the appropiate research now wouldnt you? Well in my case Coastal pays like a very profitable franchise so I treat it as such.

So to the new prospects Coastal is a viable option for a home based business. There are plenty other lucrative opportunitues on the market and they have their own forums and places to post about them.

I will continue to promote Coastal and encourage anyone looking at the opportunity to contact any of the members that post here for more details.

God Bless and good luck!!!!

I agree with you Adam, if I was looking at a business which was not fully licensed I would run.

The reseller of travel laws are fluid and are expanding and are not just an after thought by multiple state governments and Canadian provinces.

I was in Coastal for over 6 yrs, I loved Coastal but things have changed. Why would I have said goodbye when I was one of the top earners in coastal and the answer is not because I am allergic to success.

I am exhausted writing about this, it is either legal or it's not, there is no gray area.

Wishing you guys much luck with coastal vacations.

cheers

Maria

Well ....

It is good to see some old names and new names coming in from
the Coastal Ranks.

Each state can and does write their laws and each state can
go where they want with how they then move on enforcing etc.

All that said, do your due diligence of course.

Then consider .... what exactly is the product ... do I like it? What
exactly do I have to invest (with a range of course that usually will
span $100's and even $1,000's of dollars that you're looking at).

Can you afford it? Can you still afford it after you've bought in and
are now starting business, and are paying for leads, ads, any other
naturally occuring expenses it will "drive" as long as you're doing it.

What's the UPSIDE? Meaning if it pays.... does it PAY? With Coastal
the answer to that is usually a yes ... a big yes.

After those two standard considerations, consider the next very
carefully. What do I have to do as my role in making this business
work after I'm in?

This is the one that will get you. The other questions are very very
straight forward and easy to answer and know what it means.

What you have to do ... your role in your business success, is the
one no one considers with enough thought to understand the
real effect of the answer.

Business requires someone to take care of the domestic stuff like
ordering paper, sending the bills out, taking out the trash. ... and
usually that is YOU. No problem, you already do that.

Business requires someone to manage and head up the MARKETING.

Do you do that now?

Business requires someone to manage and head up the SELLLING.

Do you do that now?

Which of those, if you screw it up or can't do it at all ... will kill your
new business faster than a speeding bullet?

EITHER ONE OF THEM.

Which one do you feel, after you look at them, would you be best
suited RIGHT NOW to take on as the next most important thing
you could be doing right now?

If you are like most people, if you're honest, you will pick the Marketing
Job .... why? Because it is most like what you do now, unless you
already put yourself out there "inflicting" yourself on strangers or
even people you know and trying to sell them something now.

What if you could not just "put off" having to SELL .. but could
actually delegate it out to a sales team that someone else is
already paying for?

Time to get back to topic here folks.

Coastal is here to stay. Makes great money.

And you have a choice to do it the "Hard Way" where you do it
all on your own, or the "Modern Way" where you get to delegate
and still get paid the money.

As always ... it's about choices.

Have a super weekend everyone ....

TIMING

Success is when opportunity meets preparedness.

OPPORTUNITY

Coastal is the best opportunity I have ever seen. How can I say this? Well ive been in the home based business arena for over 20 years now. Ive tried just about everything and nothing compares to Coastal.

First its in the right industry. Travel is something everyone loves so it makes it easier to sell.

Secondly the profits are incredible. They range from $1000 - $9705. Thats amazing.

Lastly you can get started for very inexpensive. The basic start-up is $1295 and many groups hae specials and deals to help you get started.

PREPAREDNESS

Well you are on this forum and looking at home based businesses and in the Coastal area. This must mean you are prepared. So take the next step. Do your due diligence. Investigate the opportunity. Call some of the people on this forum. Get the facts and make a decision. The timing couldnt be better.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE

New to Coastal?

Man are you in the right place at the right time. This business is priced right ( the value of the level one package is well over 15k and cost a bit over 1k). The profits are amazing. More important you have proven leaders right in this forum that can teach you how to be successful.

This is the best business ive ever seen as even with no cash you can market this business. Yes I said no cash. Seems incredible but for years Ive been showing members how to create free leads, set up free or one time fee websites and create your won sales teams to market for you around the clock. This is the best opt on the board.

I suggest you get started now.

** Major Announcement - Will Affect You **

Hello "New To Coastal" Business Owners
(and readers looking to become Business Owners)!

With the passage of the "Rescue Plan" last Friday the 5th, we have
been seeing major and historic events in not just the USA but all
over the world.

We know, because our Call Center deals with people as we make
calls for our Member to prospect in over 80 countries.

What is significant now is this. The entire world has watched as
the economic leader ... the USA ... has just taken steps to solve
our economic problems. This gives a LIFT IN SPIRITS and attitude
to everyone, everywhere.

Yes, the European nations now must take on their own problems
and get them fixed .. and they are on their way now to havng
the meetings, making the decisions needed to do that.

So where does that leave YOU?

Have you ever been "in the right place at the right time" before?

This is it!

With this new lift in spirit, a relaxing of attitudes, you can turn on
the money faucet right now.

And we as go forward, what if there was a way to create free leads,
that you didn't even have to call?

Yet ... you stil made full Coastal Member Pay when you're qualified.

That is being in the right place, right time, with the right Team.

Ask ... we'll gladl y give you the full details.

Have a great week!

New to Coastal? Trying to see if this opportunity is for you? Well in my humble opinion Coastal Vacations is the best opportunity on the market and has something to offer for everyone.

Many (including myself) off innovative ways to get started as well as incredible low cost ways to run your business. My ctach word has always been free. If I could create a way for a person to run their business with no cost id be elated. Im pretty close to having that type of option perfected.

But back to what Coastal can do for you. This business markets an incredible product that everyone loves at a cost everyone can afford and makes us a profit anyone can live on. That is the trifecta of a good business. Great product, low cost, high profit margin. Couple in the fact you can do it all your way or follow the footsteps of others that have been successful this business is a no brainer.

I encourage you to call me or any of the other directors on this forum and get you questions answered. Many of us have taught huge teams to success and are more than willing to share our experiences with you.

So dont wait , do your research and get started ( hopefully with me ) with someone that can teach you the ropes to success.

Adam

Has anyone used voice broadcasting with success? I am starting to use it to follow up with existing leads and also new leads. I am harvesting my own leads with a software call phone mill miner aka bone collector. It's pretty cool because you don't buy leads.
Purchasing leads is tough cause of the quality out there.
Can anyone recommend a lead company that does the site viewed leads. I tried Networker Central 'my presentation' with mediocre results.

Hi Gary,

The thing that a coach told me is that my sales will come from prospects I spoke to a few months ago. I didn't want to hear it either. It isn't an impulse buy for a majority so you need to cultivate the relationship. Instead of focusing on selling the product find out what your prospects needs are and see if you can be the solution. Remember that it takes an average of 7 contacts to make a sale.

I don't do leads anymore either but I had some success with the leads from brilliantexchange dot com - I actually made sales by using their 'aged survey leads'! ...But they also have a 'travel lead' that compares to a ten dollar Coastal Specific lead from other companies...

Hello Readers,

This "leads and what they cost and do" issue, has been a topic for
us for over 3 years, since we are the ones that call the leads for our
Members.

Due to the quality of leads in general and because as "times get
tough" more and more people BECOME a lead as they start looking
for something out there they can do, we finally made a couple of
changes in our program.

First, we started requiring our Members to either "Pre-Stage" the
"store bought" leads they gave us to verify the name, number,
interest level -- or they had a 10% Pre Staging Fee (meaning they
still get 90% of their commission if they don't want to do the
Pre Stage calls) deducted from the finished sale to that lead.

Then, we discovered a company (since the search for solutions
was still on) that offered an autodialing service that met our
own level of standards in terms of quality of voice, options etc.

This has made life a LOT easier for us. Members can buy the
service directly through us, buy the leads to feed the dialer
through us for as little as 5 per name and that put them back
to 100% commission level.

Other options of course are to keep doin' it like it was always done
but that keeps people working harder, spending more money and
more time on things that don't contribute as much as they could
to the bottom line.

Being able to "plug in" and not make all your own sales calls, dial
all your own leads, but rather have a system in place that does
90% of that for you is the ultimate in smoothing out the edges.

Have a super week!

Welcome new prospects to the world of Coastal Vacations. We are one of the most lucrative travel opportunities on the market. Over the past 20 years I have had my hand in many opportunities and can say with confidence that Coastal is one of the best ive seen on the market.

My experience in Coastal Vacations is extensive. I have had the awesome opportunity to be at the top of various operations and associate with all the leaders in this amazing industry. This experience has made me well versed in learning all the things that work in Coastal.

As you research this opportunity you will see there are various groups all promoting their own systems and ways to do business. I for one have learned that each and every one of them have good things to offer. For that reason ive seen that adapting your business to encompass the good points and leave out many of the other aspects of the various systems works best. Im a big proponent of maximizing profits and keeping cost down and that is reflecting in how I run my business.

My advice to you is to browse the various threads on Coastal Vacations and learn as much as you can. Understand that there are alot of great directors that post on here as well as alot of competition for your business. That being the case you will see that from time to time the conversations get a bit heated in here. Dont fret or get discouraged. This is how the free market operates. The competition actually makes many of us better. Ive grown by leaps and bounds just from reading what other directors do in their own business. It has pushed me to create better and better systems that ultimately help you the new prospect get started and have quicker success.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and God Bless.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

This is the time we all get to be the generous one in other people's
life. Did you know, studies show we get MORE PLEASURE giving than
when we are receiving? Strange ... but true!

Here's one "fact" that makes total sense out of it though.

We get more pleasure out of BEING ABLE TO GIVE FREELY than
when we aren't in that position.

Do you see 2009 being YOUR YEAR?

All the Best To ALL!

Are you looking at Coastal Vacations? If so I congratulate you. This is an awesome opportunity. For years people have been able to work from home and either supplement or replace their income with this business in a box.

Why are you looking is my question to you. It's important to keep that reason in front of you at all times. It will drive you on when times become more difficult. Yes I said when times become more difficult. This is a great business but it takes work and on the way you might fall down a few times and scrape your knees. But if you keep your motivation in front of you then you can overcome any challenge.

My advice is to give on of the members on this forum a call and let them give you an overview of what Coastal is about and direct you to their website. On their site that will have tools to explain this opportunity inside and out. Be sure to ask questions about how to advertise your business as well as how to keep cost down. I specialize in teaching new members these skills.

I look forward to hearing from each and everyone of you in the future and be sure to ask about your complimentary vacation just for taking a look at our business.

Not alot of post have been going on in this forum and I bet many are wondering if Coastal Vacations is still a viable option to get started in business with. I plan on giving you a few reasons why it is still my primary business and is continuing to grow.

First alot has changed in this forum as Coastal groups have changed and many have went on to other opportunities. I wish them all the best in their endeavors. But the opportunity that is Coastal has gotten better with time.

First when you look for any business you must look at the product and profit margin. Coastal gets A+'s in both of these categories. The product is travel and discounted travel is the rage in this economy. People still need to travel and go on vacation and what better way than at a discount. Now for profit you can't beat $1000 a pop.

This is the ultimate business opportunity. It has a very simple proven system that will work over and over again. But the rest is up to you. Are you willing to take a look at the information and make a decision? On this forum are many members still actively running profitable Coastal businesses. Contact one and take a look for yourself.

Helo Adam

please inform the readers about the licensing and bonding required to resell all travel memberships legally, no matter what the business set up is.

Ignorance will not protect you from the law.
cheers

As per the Official Coastal Vacations Website

"Coastal Vacations is NOT a seller of Travel and therefore is not licensed to sell travel. Coastal sells Travel and Travel Related Discount Packages that provide discounted access to many travel and travel related companies."

As far as I understand it that means that we dont sell travel. We sell a package ( a product or in other words a membership ) that provides discounts to travel. There is a small difference in wording but a big difference in meaning.

Anyone looking for legal advice on starting a business should talk to their legal advisor but I feel comforatable in my status with Coastal Vacations as a business.

I hope this makes anyone that wasnt scared off by any of the post more secure. I applaud everyone that is in any travel business as travel is the best product to sell. For me I have found Coastal Vacations to be my business of choice.
