One of the major advantages of working from home is you can choose when to work. But when everything is in your control, it also sort of ties you up. And it needs great deal of discipline and will power to let go of your control.
So, are you taking more breaks than what you used to when you were on a day job or are you tied up? It would be interesting to know. Lets be genuine.
Now, breaks can be classified as full breaks and half breaks. It's a full break when you absolutely lose touch with your business. Half breaks are when you partially oversee your day-to-day operations using laptop or other means.
Lets keep the duration as a minimum 4 days. And mind you, the breaks must be intentional and not due to some emergency.
OK, regarding me, I have not had a full break since ages and I don't think I'll ever be able to do that! My last half break (1 week) was 6 months back. And again in a week's time of a months duration.

Well, my last real break was this past Summer for 2 weeks. I guess it was a half-break, I still checked in on everything a few times a day online - can we ever fully walk away from it all? lol
The next break is this weekend. We are taking a short out of town, just for fun, family trip. It will probably be a 3/4 break though - I will probably sneak out and check my email at the hotel each night after everyone else is asleep.
But - I have promised no work during the day! It's all family fun - for at least 3 days anyway!!!
We do vacation a lot more now that I work from home. We had 4 of them this past Summer and we are getting started early this year! Usually though, only one or two of them is longer than a few days since my husband still works outside of the home.
I would love to hear what others are doing!
And Vishal - you need to take a break!!!

I had a full break a few weeks ago when I went to a CMA gettogether with my hubby. He is part of the Christian Motorcycles Asociation and we spent several days there.
At first I thought I couldn't take a complete break but you know what - it was awesome and the world did not stop spinning just because I wasn't able to check my emails - lol!
So we plan to take more breaks this summer although depending on how long they are - I will very likely take my laptop with.
It's really nice to totally get away but it is also nice to know we can be anywhere at any time and still work our business - my ultimate dream is to work my business from the beach in the morning as the sun comes up.... relaxing in nature.... with a cup of coffee.... mmmm...
Our kids are still young and with school and all - so we may have to wait a few years but it's coming!

Vacation? What's that?
I love my biz and my hobbies too much to be distracted by frivolous pursuits!

I'm trying to start working at home like the rest of the people here so vacations are scarce. therefore my last vacation was last may when I went to Clear Waters in FL.

I consider working on my business a vacation. Have not taken a conventional vacation for more than a decade.

Well I am agree with you Rao but the worst thing is you do not have weekends and timing schedule as well.
Till date I did not take any such intended break. Once I visited in laws for some family gathering.
But yeah I am seeking
