The definition of "Revolution":
- an overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed.

Now, the definition is a lot more literal than how I will apply the term to internet marketing. So, here goes:

When I think of the word, as to how it is applied in today's online business world, I think of the changing of the guards.

Before the internet became so popular amongst a wider range of people, most brick-and-mortar businesses had to market the old fashion way. Ways that carried a lot of expenses and overhead. Nowadays, with social media booming, the new school of internet marketing has taken over and established itself as the way to go to promote your offerings.

So, what is the point of all this and where does this information leave the reader of this post? Starting with myself, I firstly acknowledge the fact that there's been this shift. And then secondly, I know I need to learn how to capitalize on the trend. So, that would be what any newbie would need to think of as well.

And that is my take on the word in this context. Does anyone else have a different perspective, that they would like to share? I, as well as the rest of this community, would appreciate the insight.
