Hey everyone,

My name is Kristen and I just got the book One Week Marketing Plan.

I am 23 years old and do art and photography part time from home. I also run a home daycare 3 days a week. I love what I do, but would like to eventually do art full time and stay at home with my future kids.

My friend Matt Zenittini referred me to this forum to get started. I finished reading the book and I'm starting on day 1 today.

If anyone has any advice for me that would be awesome! I am excited to get started!

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Kristen

Welcome to the forum, Kristen!

Any friend of Matt's is a friend of ours. Glad to have you with us.

There is quite a bit of useful information here. Take a look around to get a feel for the place and sample the content. And when you have questions just ask away. We are always listening!

Hermas

Welcome Kristen!

yup to what Hermas said - if you are Matt's friend, then you are our friend.

Have fun with the OWM plan and don't be shy about asking questions on here if you run into a wall with it.

Thanks =]!

Kristen is still skeptical! I'm pumped for her to make her first sale so she gets more excited haha.

You are on day 2 today Kristen! Let us know how it goes.

Kristen, I started with the one week marketing and I still do it. I do other things too, but rest assured, Squidoo pays all of my bills and vacations right now, well maybe I should say clickbank, but Squidoo is the platform that I use to promote the clickbank products.
Don't give up!

Hey Kristen,

Glad to have you. A little healthy skepticism is a good thing. I've never used OWM myself, but as you can see, folks like Robin and Viola have used that method with success, so there's no reason why it can't work for you, too.

Hoping to see you around here more in future and if I can help in some other area, I'll be glad to do so.

Blessings,
Angie

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! My original plan was to begin last week but it kind of got put on hold because I was confused as to what I wanted to do and how to do it and Matt and I were both pretty busy. He very kindly sat down with me yesterday and walked me through a good bit. I published my squidoo this morning. you can see it here: http://www.squidoo.com/soda-can-art

Im definitely new to this and not sure I really know what I'm doing, so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again everyone!

Kristen,

That's a very interesting squidoo lens and a very interesting niche. I've never thought about making art out of soda cans before, but what you do is really neat and cool.

Maybe you could decide to buy your own domain(s) and create your own site(s) one day. And then monetize them with things like Google AdSense or some related affiliate stuff.

I really like the step by step you wrote up with pictures about how to create the star.

Kristen you should add your website to your signature by clicking profile at the top and editing your signature box .

That way people can see your crafts website !

Thank you very much. I do have a craft blog and a regular art sale page that Matt helped me to set up. I just added them to my signature (thanks Matt!) I'm hoping the squidoo will not only help by making money that way, but also get traffic to my blog and to my personal art business page. I'm pretty excited - and already have seen some more traffic to both pages already thanks to squidoo.

Kristen,

What a fascinating, wonderful niche! I enjoyed the rich, detailed art and photography! I envy your talents. You should go far! I wish you all the success in the world!

If I could suggest one thing: Have a way to capture "leads" on your front page--at least one that gets the viewer's name and e-mail. You may wish to offer an incentive, such as a newsletter, to stay in touch. This will increase sales, I am sure!

Here's to your success!

Brian

Thank you Brian! I appreciate that! I do have a sign up on my blog, but i haven't put one on my main art website yet (although I do already have a mailing list there that people were able to sign up for before my launch). I plan on adding it in the very near future. Thanks again!!
