And get out doors! Go for a bike ride. Or roller blading. Or for a walk. Or something else. The weather is sooo nice, so get out and enjoy it - your computer will still be there waiting for you when you get back.

Well, I should have titled this post "Get Off Your Computer, Go Outside, And Don't Get Killed"...

Right after I created this thread, I went for a bike ride. During the bike ride, my back tire went flat (again), so I had to walk my bike back to my truck. In the process, I had to cross a very busy intersection. So I looked to the right, and to the left, and made a run for it. I looked up and saw a convertible Ford Mustang with two pretty girls in it (looking very shocked), that came within about two feet of hitting me - they were making a left turn right where I started to cross the street.

I was totally oblivious to the car - something I overlooked when I started to dart across the street (and they were totally oblivious to me when they started their turn). If the driver saw me a mili second later, I might not be writing this right now, but I suppose you could say that God must have a reason for me to still be living.

Are you talking about getting off your computer, going outside, or what Vishal said. LOL

Oh wow, glad to hear you were okay. Didn't know a bike ride included a heart attack!

But yes, I love the beautiful weather we are experiencing here in Georgia. We took a nice walk up the mountain last weekend because of it.

Yes, I have experienced. I was riding a bicyle and was hit by a truck. I fell left and the cycle went to the right. Truck went over the cycle.

If I would have fallen to the right, chapter wiould be finished. But God saved me and now I am alive !!!

This happened 5 years ago.

I am IN the midwest right now and it is not fit for man nor beast outdoors right now!

We took a vacation and are on our way back to Montana - actually we were enjoying the beautiful 60 - 70 degree weather and stopped for the night in Gillette (I am not even sure how you spell that - lol) and lo and behold we woke up to a raging snowstorm, unlike anything we have seen in our 17 years of living in the West...

So we are holed up in a beautiful motel, pretending we don't care if we get home today or next week....

We are so ready to get home again... but I wanted to comment on the topic here... I needed that two week break from my computer!!!

I did log in every couple days to check emails and it was so cool to see commissions and sales even when I was on break...

(makes it a tad bit easier to spend more hard earned moolah for another night at a motel - LOL)

edited to say that the town we are in, is in WY...

Hi M5,

Glad to hear from you. I looked at the weather report and it looks like you are right in the middle of a blizzard. The weather should be okay by tomorrow though.

Wyoming is a tad west of the Midwest but it is right next to it so you aren't far off.

Isn't it great to make money while on vacation or while asleep?! Great to hear your sites are doing well. Cya when you get back.

I live in the heart of the midwest in Indianapolis. And I was talking about getting off of this dang computer and going out into the real world. I hardly go out anymore, I've become a recluse, lol.

Keith,

That's good advice to get away from the computer and enjoy the outdoors. It reminds me that variety is the spice of life, and that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Glad to hear you escaped being run over by a motorist. Like Vishal observed, nothing happens before its time, so speculating on what may have resulted if the events had occurred differently is really irrelevant.

The lesson to take away from the experience might be to watch carefully for motorists making left turns when you are crossing busy intersections, especially if they are two pretty girls driving a convertible. That can be such a distracting combination.

I'll be jumping on my bike come the start of May. It's a favorite form of exercise, exhileration and relaxation that I covet all the way through September.

Hermas

Actually, I didn't even notice the girls. LOL I was too busy paying attention to the traffic coming from the right and left, while not thinking about the traffic that was turning out of the lake parking lot onto the street. I usually don't have to cross that part of the street when I'm on my bike, as the trail I was riding on goes all the way around the lake (and underneath the busy street), but I was trying to save a little time by taking a short cut and crossing the street. BAD IDEA!

So, people, when you are outside enjoying the warm weather, LOOK OUT FOR CARS THAT MIGHT BE COMING AT YOU FROM ALL DIRECTIONS!

Hi Hermas,

Why do I suddenly have the urge to watch the movie "The Shinning"?

Not counting the threat of carpal tunnel syndrome and any impacts on vision due to staring at a screen for hours and hours, this is a prime example of why being in front of a computer is a safer environment

Just kidding. There's something to that. Thanks for starting the thread Keith.

yes it is true we need to get our Vit D but with it being winter it is hard to get outside and do that. I am guilty too of not doing that. It would seem that time passes so quickly when you are on the computer has anyone noticed that?? I sure have. I have to make myself get awasy from it and that isn't good. But being in business it is hard not to be here. But admittedly I don't have to spend as much time on it as I do. So thanks for the reminder!!
