You can get t-shirts online drop shipped to your house for pennies. My favorite places are t-shirt rocket and signaturesX. If you check into signaturesX be sure to look at their items currently on sale. I picked up quite a few t-shirts for less than 2.00, added slogans to them like "I just ate some Skittles(TM). Want to taste the rainbow?" and sold them locally. Teens LOVE t-shirts. One of my biggest girl t-shirt sellers was "You'll do." Two simple words sold over $200 in t-shirts the first week. I didn't even have to advertise. My kids would hang out at the mall or the movies on the weekend, wearing my product and they would be asked where they got it. When I REALLY wanted to sell, I asked a local grocer if I could set up in his lot and sell from my trunk, or I had a yard sale and had my t-shirt rack off to the side.

Hope this helps somebody.

That's cool...how did you make the tshirts? Did you print the design out and then iron-on?

That's a good idea. How much would you sell the T-shirts for?

No, I had them do it for me, you submit a jpeg with what you want on it and they will send them to you already done. Isn't that easy!

I sell the shirts between $10-12 for regular t-shirts, girls shirts with the funky tight sleeves were $15- and up depending on what they had on them, sweaters $20.

Gina - that's a great idea. I checke dout the websites and their prices are unreal! Do you have to buy a minimum number of t-shirts or can you combine t-shirts and sweatshirts to meet the minimum? It looks like I would have to buy 100 tshirts and 100 sweatshirts, etc....... to get the low price. At that price, I guess I would make a profit even selling them $7 or $8.

What would you need to do if you wanted to create some shirts of college teams? Is that legal to do and sell?

I imagine you'd have to be licensed to do that.

That is a great idea though. I had a friend in highschool who started his own clothing line, granted it died the day he left college, it did bring him in some extra money.

There are alot of mom and pop stores that will take stuff like that on consignment.

His big thing was to take the shirts to hip-hop shops and sell them there.

Great Idea though.

I have always wanted to design shirts but I'm afraid about the costs... Do you do the designs by hand or do you do it on a computer? What kind of printer do you need?
