I very much enjoy the challenge of matching clients looking for a franchise opportunity, be it brick and mortar or home based, with the business that specifically meets their needs, passions, and skill set. There is great satisfaction in locating someone's ideal business...and my services are free to the client.

There is a difference between deciding to find work from home and starting a home buses business.
One pays wages and the other is entrepreneurial. Even if you know the difference, understand that making money online is extremely HARD.
Those who say otherwise are not saying the truth.
I make a lot of money easily. Because I know how. Easy does not mean instantly. There is a difference.
Nothing happens instantly when it comes to acquiring wealth.
Lottery perhaps!

I knew nothing about affiliate marketing, adsense or SEO tactics before I actually decided to read and learn. I wish I started years earlier, but hey it's never too late.
Since I made the move to get educated , I have formed my own business that is steadily growing.
Cheers for now.

I have been internet marketing for 6 months after coming across a company on the internet. They provided me with my website (i have 4 now) and as i was completely new to it i have received lots of support. I get regular training over the phone and also face to face if i wish. I am now making good money and am so glad i made the initial phonecall as i have never looked back.

I retired 5 months ago and havn't looked back. I could have carried on for another 5 years but the driving and sitting in traffic jams was getting me down so I just retired. I was lucky though, I had a friend who had already started working from home and she recommended this company in Wales.
I'm really pleased, I don't miss anything about the old company. Although I could use a computer I was totally confused by the marketing stuff and I was given my own tutor who talked me though everything step by step and my websites are doing great. I even went down to meet them all in Wales.
All I would say to anybody looking to work online, there are genuine companies out there - just be cautious.

Hi Jenny, I'm just over the welsh border (cheshire) and work from home - I have started my own website and have brilliant training which enables me to earn while I learn ! Definitely a huge bonus being able to ask those who are in the know when you have a problem or issue - and they are only at the end of the phone or I can visit if I need to.

Any working from home, online types or brick-and-mortar type always require effort and work from the get go. There is not any 'sign up here and sit back while the money rolls in' types a reality. Don't believe that there is something for nothing. You may have to give a little to gain a lot. Always dream big, believe they will happen, put the plan into action and watch what happens. Rich

I agree rkennedy, you do have to to work at it although I was earning within 3 days of the website going live.
With good tutoring and the support of a genuine company who want you to succeed, dreams can come true.

Go into a forum (Not an actual thread) and at the bottom, you will see "New Topic" and some text boxes where you can create the title and text for the new thread.

Hi Frank,
I know what you're going through, you are getting a bit older and still stuck in the same place. My dad went through the same, but fortunately he's doing better now. First of all I just want you to know I'm not trying to sell you anything... Yes I do work from home, but that has nothing to do with what you are asking.
It does to a certain degree, but what you really want to know is if there is a legit way of making a living, something a bit more easy than carrying 100 lbs while going up the stairs. What you have to know is that there are tons of opportunities on the web, however there are also tons of scams. If you do a little research without buying anything right off the bat, then simply ask your self... does it make sense? could you see yourself doing that? will it be fun? if you think so, then that might just be the thing for you.
Here are some red flags when you look for money making opportunities online:
If you have to pay any sort of fee not including the original price of the program and possibly some webhosting... get out.
If they ask you to subscribe to anything other than perhaps an affiliate paying website... get out.
If it doesn't make sense to you but some John Doe did it... get out.
Some legitimate programs offer a money back guarantee... this is very good. The ones that offer that plus online support are even better. Like I said before, do some research... I don't want to seem harsh but this is not going to fall from the sky. Information is power my friend, and if you really look into this, you'll find your answer.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and good luck in the future.
Emmanuel

I don't want to sell you on one idea, I also suggest staying away from get rich quick scams. I have researched many home business opportunities for myself and thought others could use this info. It's all free and I will continue to add more. Ideas include cleaning, concrete surfacing, freight brokering and much more. I hope this will be helpful to you, good luck.

Hi Frank, And all you other folks out there looking for a home business. The very first thing you must learn is forget about Money$$! If you let money drive you, you will spend a lot, searching. That's why only 3% make it in marketing. What do you like to do? what do you know something about? and are you willing to be committed? Everyone has a story to tell, people are looking and willing to pay for that information. You must be willing to invest some time and money in your search. Concentrate on one thing at a time. You can spend $1.00 up to $10,000.00 neither amount will guarantee you to be successful. Money is a by-product, it only reflects on what you do, not what you spend. If your niche is Fly Fishing, sell about Fly Fishing, you can sell the pole later. Ask questions, research, and get started.

What I have found true in life is that it cannot be cured but you have to manage it. As you manage it you learn valuable lessons. All of us fear to be scammed but on the internet it is inevitable to make mistakes. Unless you have a true friend who is already making a decent income online you will have to try out things in order to learn the ropes. I have met eye to eye with online sharks several times but the lessons are priceless.
Do your research first but set a time limit to take action. The internet is like trying to drive a car. You will never learn by sitting at the co-driver's seat. You get to learn a lot from programs that provide skills (mentoring) by taking action. Have a budget and hit the road running. Take calculated risks and do not fear to make mistakes. Virtual credit cards are a great way to keep within budget.

I teach a class at the adult Learning center, The class covers from starting the computer, how to search, to filling out forms, and how to use the printer. I do this for the State Job Service, unemployment division. This is done Free, I donate my time and effort to help people. Two years ago I was asked to teach some basics on Internet Marketing, also a Free course.
I don't remember at any time giving advice such as "take calculated risks" use your credit card, and don't be afraid to fail. Sounds like a sales pitch to me.
I guess my advice is, "Don't take bad advice!

Hey Frank,
If you are interested in making real money quickly on the internet then I would suggest Cash Leveraging.
All you must do is educate yourself some on the prospect and then find a program that you feel is right for you.
Beware, there are fraudulent programs out there however there are some that are legitimate. If you are willing to put in a little effort at the onset of the endeavour you can make yourself a hefty sum.
I wish you all the best,
Zack
Cheers,
Zack

I am not sure what your interests are but I would recommend a thorough web search on home business opportunities and do not get sucked into anything until you have investigated lots of businesses.
You should be looking for a business you would be happy to promote not something that promises you the earth from day one! Be comfortable with your choice.
If you like a business then speak to the person promoting it - either through telephone, skype or email. But don't just trust email. Make sure you have had a real connection with a real person! And make sure you can work with that person too!
There are lots of scams out there. Lots of mystery on the web! Choose a real person. Someone who will guarantee to mentor you personally!
To your abundant wealth!1

I started with the My Online Income System as well. It has an easy program to follow and teaches you all the basic stuff you need to know in order to get your home based business up and running. This program is good for anyone who is just starting out in the affiliate marketing. You can make good money with it, you just have to stick to the program that is laid out for you. The support within the forum provides awesome support for you to succeed. They also have recently added another program you can take that is for intermediates. Once you get through the first course you can deepen your knowledge by going through the second. The choice is up to you of course and you don't have to pay extra for it. It is included in the package. The signature link gives more detail if that is something you were thinking about pursuing.

I agree with ESS. The key to becoming successful with an online or home business is the right mentor or right teacher.
There is no shortage of make money online opportunities on the net as you may have found out.
A lot of them are very legit, but a lot of them also poorly taught.
People fall hook line and sinker for such programs because the sales page did its job. The merchant hired a copywriter who knew what words to use. Then he hired a ghost writer to write his ebook. Then a graphic designer put those 2 elements on a web host online. That's typical business, and nothing wrong with that.
The point is don't judge a program by its salespage any more than you judge a book by its cover.
Know this when ti comes to making money online.
I don't care if you do affiliate marketing, multi-level marketing, freelance writing, ebay....short of doing paid surveys (which is a it more work than it seems):
You are going to have to understand how the search engines work. You are going to have to understand how to get people to come to your site and buy from you versus someone else.
This can all be done if you put in the work, you are persistent, and you will have to be patient because people are bombarded with opportunities.
Choose a niche that is not too competitive but makes money.
Make sure than niche doesn't have a problem with scams. Even though your product is legit, the prevelance of scams can make it hard for you to be trusted.
So you definitely have to take into account your customer's mindset.
It can be a couple weeks to a couple months before you begin to see a smidgen of money, depending on niche and approriate tactics.
Most, importantly the right person has to teach you, and they have to teach you all this at the same time in the same place. Not keep upselling and upselling you, etc.
If you have children and are considering working at home, it wouldn't hurt to join a work at home Mom or Dad networks. They are fiercely protective of each other and ward of scams like they're diseases. There's a really good one I mention in my website. The lady knows her stuff.
Think about what niche you might be interested in. Even if it's construction. Maybe you can create a blog on roofing tips or common roofing problems. WIth Google Adsense, depending on the cost of the keyword (go to technobloggie.com), you could put ads on that blog and people who read your blog might end up clicking on those ads and you get a percentage of the ad revenue. Check it out.
You could affilaite for roofing companies or tool companies that you work well with. I don't know. Maybe black and decker has an affilaite program. Add a link to your blog.
You can make good use of your 20 years of expertise in construction, roofing, and build up your blog or website to include things related to it. Tools. Common safety problems with construction workers. Construction compensation. Basic patch jobs. Budget patcwork. Lowes and Home Depot might have an affiliate partner program. You never know. Check it out on their website.
Have topics like winter wear and tear. Put a blog heading like, "Storm Proof Your House". Something. YOu have the talent and the expertise. Put it to good use.
