Wouldn't it be better to build a store to sell your products rather than create a website? the store can also incorporate the contents of a site, so there's additional value. Ecrater is one good free online store builder i've come across.
What else do you guys know.

For selling products, a store is definitely better

I've been researching stores and products and it is hard to find everything in one package. I'm currently looking into MyShopKart for my store, partnered with SunRiseWholesalers. SunRise will load all the products and maintain them for me, but I can set the prices. Also, I can add my own products from other suppliers or out of my own inventory. It all sounds great, BUT I sent an email to MyShopKart several days ago with questions about their websites and have not heard back - that is not a good sign.
Please tell me if you've had good/bad luck with either of these entities.
I can actually purchase the products cheaper at Pocono, with no membership fees or minimum orders and they will dropship for me. They carry the same products as SunRise (all SMC stuff), but they don't offer a website plan. I hope to start with their products, then add my own stuff, then branch off on my own eventually.
I also signed up for a free website with FreeWebStore, but you can only have 25 products. It's good practice though. You can upgrade and carry more products, but the website is still very limited.

Depends on the budget you want to spend on a business. I would suggest Internet Marketing. No investing involved and no risk

I own a web store, where I sell information products, software, ebooks and the rest. There's no need for a website, IF AND ONLY IF the store could incorporate the basic advantages of having a website, especially with respect to marketing. All said and done, no one's gonna buy a product without obtaining adequate information. If the store you own could do both-having enough facilities for promotion as well as e-com enabled-then I see no problem selling directly from a store, rather than through a website.
Kindly, Suresh
