Does anyone have a good tutorial for dream weaver? I just got a copy and am having a difficult tiem getting it to do what I want.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi, I've just started using dreamweaver aswell, just keep clicking and it will begin to come to you. Experiment and if you get stuck there are alot of helpful results in google. Try messing around with the templates that come with dreamweaver aswell, kinaesthetic learning really helps me, it might help you too?

I learned in college, but I could have easily taught myself from the adobe books we used in class. The way to learn dreamweaver tuts is learn html first, plenty of those online. Then you can do whatever since its a wysiwyg editor, type code or visual.

I've seen some tutorials for sale on eBay for Dream Weaver. I tried to use their free trial version, but I was almost completely lost, so I decided to stick with NVU. In about two weeks (October 9th, 2007), Site Rubix will be launched, and that will make website design a lot easier - just something to consider if you can't figure out Dream Weaver by then.

Yeah, Site Rubix looks like it's gonna be cool!
We still need to understand some of the details though. Not so much what it does, I've got a fair idea on that, but the pricing structure, etc.
For those who struggle with web design, this could be the answer to your prayers.

I use the help a lot, it'll come to you, #1 thing I think, make sure you try out your web page with both FireFox and IE. Reason being, FireFox will read you web site as it is supposed to be. IE is the wrost thing ever, it does all kinds of different funky things. Hence why I always tell people to use FireFox, security is much better and it does what its supposed to do.
One more thing, I dunno if you have a widescreen monitor or old school square one, but that matters to, when other people are looking at your web page, try out both if you can, or if you have a friend with a different monitor ask them how it looks.

In addition, test your site out in various resolutions and try it out in Safari and Opera.

I've spent the last two weeks or so figuring dreamweaver out and let me tell you it is very nice and easy, if only for the menu function would I use it.
The one thing I wish a webbuilding program would do is be a true WYSIWYG, Like if i could create a webpage in word or even a webform in access and then just have it magically appear as a web page that would be awesome. What I dislike most is the use of tables and pic to create borders. I'm still not sure on how to do this 100%, but I manage and I got ahole of some pretty easy to use and edit and customize web templates for dream weaver.
If anyone knows of a true WYSIWYG web designer let me know.

It took many trial runs for me to work through dreamweaver but I feel much comfortable using it now but of course they're are still aspects that I have yet to master. Just keep working with it and it will come to you easier and easier.

For newbies in web design i recommend www.w3shools.com and Notepad++  . Never mind how good you are with dreamweaver or joomla you cant build professional website with WYSIWYG editors..This is my own opinion i am not some kind of master designer but i started with dreamweaver too and not much later i realized its useless...

I must say dreamweaver does have it's limitations...but as I "Invested" in buying the software I made dang sure to learn to use it. I'm still not a pro by any stretch of the imagination, BUT it gets the job done.
And when I can't figure out how to do something I will usually just research the HTML code and get it done.

One of the biggest problems of dreamweaver is the way it write the code and more specificly tha way websites made with dreamweaver look in different browsers and resolutions.

Indeed just recently(2 days ago) I found the LOGO on my site did not appear correctly in other computers. On my computer at home, at work and several computers that i've seen it on(Friends, library, etc) it works just great.
HOWEVER,
On certain computers, I'm still investigating the cause, the logo is contained in a grey bar...Obviously this is something that needs fixing?
Any suggestions as to what this might be caused by?

I love Dreamweaver as well & I'm happy that a thread on this has been done as I am having a little trouble with the design of my web page, I have inserted a flash menu on the left hand side of the page & I was wanting too start typing text at the top of the menu but the cursor is the same length as the menu & when I do start typing text it's at the bottom of the menu which I don't want. If anyone can help me solve this problem that would be great & I would also like too know how you can do tabs (Like in a work processor) in dreamweaver.

i use bluevoda, it is a free wysiwyg and it is really easy to use. and when combined with voahost a hosting service publishing is done with the click of a button

Casper: I have just downloaded the software & you are right it's very easy too use, I even might stop using dreamweaver because this program would save anyone heaps of time when building a web site. I have just joined Wealthy Affiliates & I was wanting too set up my business really quick so this is a fantastic tool too use.

Not necessarily a tutorial, but a great website for finding anything related to coding. Do a search for "A List Apart" I use it every time I can't figure something out. This might also be a good reference depending on what kind of coding style you use... "CSS Garden".

Oh, I almost forgot, YouTube has some great tutorials as well.
