Hi everyone,
I'm a self admitted newbie with the intricaces of web pages/web hosting/blogs etc. I've just recently bought a domain name through godaddy and was under the impression that I could build a landing and/or doorway page (don't really know what the difference is) right there with the purchase of the domain.
I'm barraged with reels and reels of upsell marketing and finally called customer service only to be barraged with more! I was clear with the rep that upon trying the service I would like to browse the supposed 'free features' included with my initial purchase.
I hung up feeling more confused than when I originally called. He mentioned something about needing third party software or using their webtonight/smartspace in order to even establish any kind of webpage presence. Any help you all could offer around my options would be greatly appreciated. I'm ashamed to admit, I'm even having a difficult time navigating and setting up my myspace! (figuring out how to use banners, not being able to view my updated profile as it appears to everyone, etc!)

You can use blogger for hosting with your domain name

godaddy has a great feature built into the site....quick-install applications
They have many popular formats already programed into their site and all you need to do is fill out a few questions to install the application.
If you login to godaddy and click on hosting> my hosting account>manage account>your applications
You will find all the one click applications they offer

I run a freelance web design company and I have alot of experience with godaddy
