So I was considering trying my hand at clickbank again. It's been awhile and I was pretty successful via adwords and such, I would like to start up again, but using blogs and articles.
Here's my question:
I'm hardly an expert on anything. So let's say I'm going to promote "widgets". If I'm going to be blogging and attempting to provide useful information WHERE do I find useful information? My first thought is, "well use articles"...however I find that would probably defeat the purpose as I would then be promoting someone else's articles and not mine. So I'm asking where can I find useful information...without having to become an authority in "widgets" before I begin writing articles and blogs...or do I have to become an expert?
If you can think of anything to help please let me know. Other wise it's off to the books to become a widget expert.
Thanks for any help, Gilbert

What I did was read blogs, lots of them, in particular Problogger, Darren Rowse he is a great blogger and he teaches about everything he knows in his blog. I also read different types of blogs to see what direction I wanted to go. I did this to get ideas. What you need is ideas that will motivate you to begin and once you begin you just keep writing. I decided to go with something that I love to write about and was knowledgeable in so that I wouldn't want to quit. Setting up a blog is free so why not just give it a try. Sonni

Hi Gilbert, If you seek cutting-edge material on blogging, check out the Thirty Day Challenge. Last year the theme was blogging and the lessons are still available as free downloads. We are using state of the art blogs this year, and are mid way through. Everything is totally free, and available for you.
You will need to develop ways to promote your blog also.
I hope this was helpful!

Hey Open,
Well, you seem to have two questions - you want to choose a topic that will convert and you want to learn how to set up and run a blog.
You're more familiar with my general philosophy than most. To write about a topic, you should have a passion for it. Either you know it well already or you are interested in learning about a new topic.
In either case, you have to do a lot of research. A new topic would require more research than one you are already familiar with. Know your topic well before you write about it. Your readers will know and will trust you more if you do. That will translate into loyal return visitors who will trust your purchase recommendations.
To learn how to blog, use the link below:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+blog&btnG=Google+Search
There are 97 million pages that come up in the SERPs on "How to blog".
If you want to make the real money, you can't take short cuts or imply expertise. The expertise has to be authentic.
Just think about hobbies, interests throughout your life, or even school subjects in which you excelled at or took a strong interest.
You'll probably find that it's not a matter of what to choose, but which one to start with. Take your time figuring it out. Try brain storming.

Thank you guys for the info. I know the passion for the topic has to be there, which means I'm going to have to get passionate. I've done some initial research and found 2-3 products with good keywords and phrases with only about 50-100k google search results, I can get to top 1-2 in no time with those types of numbers. Again the issue is going to be now, how in the world do I sound intelligible as these products are not my forte...yet.
I don't want to imply expertise so it looks like there'll be a bit of knowledge to be gained for me until I feel I know more than enough to answer good solid questions.
I guess I should really try to finds something a little more in my area of expertise, sadly the only thing I'm decent at is marketing....And I've done the google research for that and I'm not trying to play with that competition.

Whatever subject you select, unless it is one you are passsionate, about, you will need to do research. This means searching articles, blogs basically anywhere you can get information. You may not become an expert but you will become very knowledgeable about the subject. Ultimately you must remember you are trying to make money this.
