There are many ways to get relevant, targeted, or as I like to say "perfect customer" traffic...
Some of the most popular and in turn most powerful traffic generation methods are... Article Marketing & PPC (Pay-Per-Click) Marketing...
Now both of these methods can produce incredible results, but you first NEED to learn and apply the proper techniques that will allow you to drive limitless "perfect customer" traffic to wherever you so desire, again and again... (Checkout my sig, I teach both of these techniques.)
BUT...
Here is the foundation that ALL full-time successful internet/affiliate marketers use... and the foundation on which you need to build BEFORE you start driving that "perfect customer" traffic -->
Niche Market --> "Your" Perfect Customer --> Relevant Keywords --> Relevant Ads & Ad Groups or Articles & Bio Boxes --> Relevant Landing Pages --> Relevant Product and/or Service Offerings
Oh, and one more side note... Don't ever forget to find-out WHO your "perfect customer" is and WHY they are buying before you promote!

It's really not that hard once you know and apply the principles...
Think about it for a second...
They don't call the internet the "information highway" for nothing. And believe me "your perfect customers" are all over the net looking for every specific things...
Now, the trick is to find where they hang-out and hang-out with them, BECOME "your perfect customer"... THINK like them! WHAT are their passions, desires, thoughts (remember these are expressed by actions), feelings, sorrows, pains, etc, etc, etc... And WHAT are they buying and WHY!
Remember... Marketing (whether online or off) is an emotional game... YOU have to think with your heart!
NOW...
One of the most powerful places to "find where your 'perfect customers' hang" are forums!
Think about it for a second... Humans ARE social creatures, we gather around common ideas/feelings and we like to share passions...
So, if I were in the cell phone industry or more specific, the apple iphone niche... I would simply go to Google and type in "apple iphone forums" and I bet I could find A LOT of places where my "perfect customers" hang-out!
Ok... I like to share so, here's one more... oh, and sorry it might be a little of the marketing subject...
In life in general... If you think you can you can, if you think you can't you can't... The power of the human mind is totally amazing... We my friends are responsible for everything that we attract into our lives... And if you align your thoughts and ACTIONS (the decisions you make) you can accomplish anything!
Remember... The only permission you need to succeed in life is your own!

In my experience the best way to get traffic is writing articles, blogging, commenting on peoples blogs, directories and forums. I am also a newbie but I am getting traffic so the more you do the more you get!
