Do all of you have "Landing pages" to promote your products and if so how many? and if not then how do you promote your products?

Hi lil_Magic07,

I would think that most folks here have one or more landing pages. Some like to use testimonials and some don't. Many have review sites. It's good to mess around with free sites for a few months after you get a decent and well-rounded education regarding online marketing and SEO.

Then you might create a hosted site and point your free sites at it. It's best to learn with the free sites so that you don't make any major mistakes for the sites you are paying for (hosted). Learn for free then shoot for the stars with your paid sites.

Great advice newbie shield, free blogs are a great place to fine tune and implement new skill you learn and there is no financial risk involved.

I suppose my thinking is the opposite, in a way. I would rather not waste my time and energy fiddling around with the free stuff and trying to sort through all the various tools and recommended methods. As a new person to this, it is far too confusing. It's like shooting in the dark and hoping for a hit.

I prefer to pay upfront for reliable and proven guidance and tools so that I am sure to learn a "right" way and have something to show for all of my time and efforts in the end.

After I have a good foundation of learning and experience behind me, that's when I feel more confident to go out and try to do things a little "cheaper."

Isn't it funny how we all think differently? I guess that's what makes life so interesting.

And just to answer your question, some of us have landing pages and some have full fledged niche sites. Mine are niche sites. I have a couple of things I'd like to sell in future that I'll need to make landing pages for, but... ...everything takes time.

I'm not sure how you would do affiliate marketing without a website...

You could try a free site like freewebs or blogspot or something but if you really want to learn how to do affiliate marketing and be able to get found through the search engines, then SBI is the way to go...

Good luck!

I'm sure it can be done, but I suspect it is a lot harder.

One way, apart from trying to build a free blog that gets a lot of traffic, would be to learn the secrets behind PPC and tackle an Adwords campaign.

Do you know what that is? You "bid" on keywords related to your affiliate product and then you pay Google for every click you get. This can be as little as a few cents a click, but they sure add up fast if you aren't careful. And then, if you don't make any sales to compensate for the cost of advertising, you lose money rather than make it.

I personally wouldn't tackle this until you already have some positive cash flow coming in and have done a good bit of research to determine the best PPC tactics.

I do agree with pushing traffic to a website using an adwords campaign..

I would highlight :
"I personally wouldn't tackle this until you already have some positive cash flow coming in and have done a good bit of research to determine the best PPC tactics. "

If no careful expect to dish out a small fortune.

I have been fortunate enough, just to let time & seo to generate traffic to my sites.

Actually, you can do quite well without a website, although a website can increase your profits. A lot of people do great without a website - both Squidoo and Hubpages are great ways to make money without a website, but you have to know what you are doing...

You can do affiliate marketing without a website, free webspace such as blogger and squidoo can be used as landing pages, but my best return has been through good landing pages with relevant keyword domains.

With your own website you can influence SEO and Adwords "quality score" and this will give better ROI.

Just my 2cents worth

I think it's easier with a website because then you can build content around the product you're promoting and get indexed, resulting in more visits. If you build interaction into your website with comments and such, you can build credibility and loyalty and then increase the products you promote.

I have several websites. Landing pages are not necessary to promote your products. It all depends on what you are trying to promote.
If your ad is for a specific product and your website offers many different things, then a landing page would help sell the particular product or service that your ad is targeting.

I bought Ajm. Now I am going to sign up with Bluevoda and create a web site to promote some one elses product. My question is, do I write the text all about the product I am promoting a whole new ad in my own words? Even if I have not used the product and have on testimonials? As you can tell I am a newbie...very new.

I personally use squidoo for free websites. I have tried blogs and other free community places, but I have had the most success there. I do have paid domains too, but they are pretty much automated, so I have to work at the free sites to keep traffic coming.

I have many websites. (I created them with a program that lets me create unlimited sites and they generate income). Also, with my company sites with shaklee and streamline, they already come with all the pages set up. (That makes it easy!!)
