Free advertising is about all I use. I do use some very low cost, too. Here are a few things that are free.....article submission, free press releases, free classifieds. Just make sure you're consistent in advertising. Good luck to you!

Sorry to break this to you, but there's no such thing as a free lunch. Ponder over it, will you? Take Free Ads, Free Classifieds, whatever. People come to these place to post ads, NOT to read them. Which means, your ad will go unnoticed, in all probability. This is what happens when things are free.

Because it's free for you, it must be free for others too, right? And if it's free for everyone, this concept evidently creates intense competition, reason why most people seldom taste success with free advertising.

As a solution, though, why don't you try PPC, seems to be the most cost-effective means?

1. Participate on two or three pertinent forums where you:
a) Use your real name for your Username - so people get to know you; also sign each post with your real name
b) Make it easy for people to contact you if they wish
c) Use a sig file (signature) with a compelling headline, motivational copy, and a call to action that leads to a well-designed squeeze page

2. Start a blog using Wordpress. You can do it for free and upgrade to hosting your own blog, (although it's relatively inexpensive to host it yourself). Post every day.

3. Learn how to use traffic exchanges effectively; Google "Hit Exchange News" and subscribe (free). Banner ads often work better than the regular pages in traffic exchanges.

4. Start a newsletter or ezine. Use your blog posts as material.

Have a long-term strategy of investing as much money you can afford into educating yourself.

Purchase a good comprehensive course on Internet marketing such as Internet Marketing Center's "Insiders Secrets" course.

Or buy a one-year license for a SiteBuildIt site and soak up the college-level tutorials and training they give you for free with a purchase.

I hope this helps,

Mark

Have you tried directmatches? You can sign up free and promote your business and at the same time make contacts with other people. You have an onsite inbox and the only mail that comes to your web based email program is notifications (which I think you can opt of). Just an idea! I am looking too as well to advertise without getting a bunch of spam mails.

Be careful with Google Adwords. You can burn through a lot of money fast. I recommend reading/watching all of the Adwords tutorials on the site first, as well as consulting other resources. I give away an excellent 85-page e-book on Adwords to my ezine (newsletter) subscribers. Message me and I'll just send you the link whether you want my ezine or not.

All the Best,

Mark

Hi Casper,

You should consider creating several additional email accounts. One for each major purpose. One for classifieds, news releases, etc, I have several myself and it works best this way.

Craigslist is really good! Just don't spam or they will blacklist you really fast.

You might also try buying an opt in email list from a co registration company and then doing an email blast, that is always a very cheap, but not free method of getting traffic.

Since Craigslist doesn't allow home business opportunities, mlm, network marketing, or affiliate marketing, how can you post without spamming? (I apologize in advance if I have misunterstood your question).

Hey Mark -

In Craigslist, there's a section under Services called Sm. Biz Ads. You can place an ad there that says something like: Home Base Business or Would you like to earn money without leaving the home.....then you can add your link at the bottom to your site.

Mention the service you are selling, not the home based business
