Hi,
What is one thing that can be done on a daily basis that doesn't take a whole lot of time that will get some good traffic to my site?
Is there some sites out there like classified sites that you see more traffic from than others?
Thank You
IBW

Do some keyword research on your main site concept keyword and find a bunch of other related phrases that searchers type in. Add a page a day (or week) focused on one of those phrases. That is, I think the most beneficial time spent on building traffic.
Secondly, find a related directory or site to add a link to your site. That helps a bit, too.
Lastly, (before Newbie Shield jumps in and reminds me ) include images on your site with alt tags using related words or phrases. Google has been sending a lot of image traffic in recent months.
If you do those three things on a regular basis, that is a very good start to get the snowball rolling in your direction.

For immediate traffic nothing beats pay per click advertising. For long term traffic nothing beats SEO from article marketing including blogging and social bookmarking.
I use Submit Your Article to get hundreds of unique articles into directories every month. I use WordPress to blog and social bookmark my posts.
Out of this comes all kinds of long term traffic from search engines because I write everything based on a long tail keyword phrase.

If you're just starting out to get hits to your site, I would suggest Linkreferral. I've gotten about 200 targeted visits and almost 30 reviews in the past week... proof? Check out my statcounter stats below (and yes I just started up this GPT Guide Site in November). As you can see, my hits have been increasing (the one day drop on a Friday was cause I was busy and didn't sign in to LinkReferral... sigh).

hope that helps :]

How do you know that the 200 visits are targetted?

I agree you can get easy and free traffic from linkreferral or any of the free traffic exchange.
It is ok if you are not using google adsense on your website / blog or if you are just promoting your referral links.
If you are using adsense, you might get into trouble with google.
Once, someone click the ads on my site and google admin sent me an email saying that my website is generating clicks from invalid traffic sources.
I stop using traffic exchangers after that.
Its good to use the traffic exchangers if you are not using adsense, I use to get hundreds of visits daily. Its an easy & free way of getting traffic though not quality traffic.
Just sharing my experiences...

Lots of great advice here. I think the biggest key is to be consistent. Do something each and every day to create traffic. Working up a consistent schedule has been one of the best things I have done.
You may spend one day of the week posting in forums, another day writing an article, and another day creating advertising. Perhaps commit to making so many posts a day in forums, or an article a week. All of the tips mentioned above will bring in traffic and if you do them consistently you will be rewarded.

I just started using traffic exchangers and am very happy with the increased traffic. It will help me direct traffic to my site while I continue to work at building quality traffic. But, regarding quality, I remember back in my very old telemarketing days - everyone knew it was about numbers. If you dialed enough and did not quit, you would eventually get the sale. Of course, you had the stars who could sell anybody, but for the everyday Joe, just keep dialing and you'll make a sale. I see programs online I would never sign up for. But it is out there because someone will! So, I'm working at generating more numbers while looking to generate more "quality" leads--with my goal on increasing signups.
Regarding using Adsense, an option would be to create what I believe is called a "splash page" and submit the splash page for circulation instead of the web page which contains Adsense. The pages I have seen usually contain either a sign up box for followup or an affiliate link.

From: http://www.marketingterms.com/dictionary/
"Splash page
Definition A branding page before the home page of a Web site.
Information Splash pages are usually graphic-intensive pages that appear before the main home page. Some feature standard graphic format such as GIF and JPEG; others feature formats such as Macromedia Flash that require a special plug-in (which a visitor must download if he or she does not already have one). Some splash pages automatically refresh to the home page upon completion; others require the visitors to click on an entrance button or text link.
While some marketers believe that splash pages are a necessary part of the brand experience, users may not view them in the same light. It is worth noting that very few of the most highly-trafficked destinations on the Web use splash pages.
The phrases "splash page" and "Flash page" are sometimes used interchangeably. While it is true that many splash pages use Macromedia Flash technology, the terms are not synonymous, as some splash pages do not use Flash".
I have also seen them set up in blogger, which I may try as I am not that "computer literate". I see there are some sites that offer free web pages, but did not explore that very deeply.

I have been using traffic exchanges to generate traffic. But it is not quality traffic, but when shown enough you get people signing up.
But my better results are from article marketing. I try to write 2 articles a week. Even the older articles still bring in traffic, once written and published they are out there no need to do anything else.

Now that I've been using Linkreferral, as you suggested the other day, I have already had a jump in visitors. Pretty excited about it. Several reviews already, too, and it's only been 3 days! Thanks for the advice there! :-D

Not sure if it has been mentioned but i find targeted hits valuble and submit to directories to do with my niche's. Adwords is ofcourse the fastest way to do it but it can be an expensive learning curve.

The best way is to start building strong relationships with people in forums and on social networking sites like MySpace. A lot of people don't think about using MySpace as a tool to meet people and build your credibility. I learned that with the amount of people that are on MySpace that if it were considered a country it would be like the 12th largest country in the world. There is so many like-minded people on there that you will be able to connect with if you just look.

I say write an article about your niche each day and post it on ezinearticles.com. Writing one article each day may sound like a bit much, but it gets easier the more you do it.

I use ASDcashgenerator to get quality traffic to my websites. It takes 10-15 minutes per day and that is all. With this program you get paid to advertise your business. That is the truth. You also get good exposure and traffic to your websites. It is simple and works.

I would agree with this. If you want to spend about 45 minutes 2 times per week try SubmitYourArticle.com and use their Article Leverage program. They submit to EzineArticles and hundreds of others for you. Very easy to do.

ibw13: What is one thing that can be done on a daily basis that doesn't take a whole lot of time that will get some good traffic to my site?
I learn this mindset from my real estate training and I use it with my online marketing... "Less I do, More I Make!"
So what I do to get consistent traffic on a daily basis... I plan and design for my daily success.
I identify a target market and I create at least 9 videos Then, I properly tag my videos and test and adjust to match the market's needs and desires and wants
If you set it up right you can get an average 1,000 views per day, that will pre-qualify your visitors to your site that works for you 24/7
I love this because I always get rejection Free and objection Free prospect my page and it is so easy to close.
you can upload 12 video sites for Free at tubemogul.com and if you know what you are doing like SEO tips and how google likes... you can get your niche video on the Google within 3 min.
Getting Good traffic is not easy and is not cheap from experience if you go like ppc and google adwords and traffic exchange...
If you take the time to learn how to use the video, you quality of the traffic will increase much better. you can use traffic geyser and try it for $1 ... now this for more serious internet marketer... it will take time to learn and use it right.
I hope this adds value to get your good and qality traffic needs,

ASDcashgenerator is a way I have found to get quality traffic to my websites. You can advertise at least three websites at a time. You get paid to advertise. Whatever ad pack you buy you get paid back 125% of that and more, it compounds daily. It is true and it works.
