Are you talking about the site in your signature?
Well what have you been doing to get the traffic? Have you tried article marketing?

Adwords.com is by far the best traffic builder out there. If you need free sites check out Trafficswarm.com.

If you are willing to spend some money, pay per clicks might be something to consider.
When I started my first website, I invested in pay per clicks for the first year. By the second year, my sales were increasind AND my rankings in the search engines was going up as well.
I don't know what your advertising budget is but you might want to consider at least doing some research on this arm of marketing.
It is very effective for driving traffic to your site. Make sure your site is "sticky" and that people want to stay and look.
Good Luck!
John

Get a WordPress blog going. Read the Authority Black Book by Jack Humphrey (it is free) and you should your traffic jump to a few hundred per day very quickly.

Well, the first obstacle you have is a website tha is virtually invisible to search engines. Ultimately, you will always have to rely on various marketing platforms just to get visitors to know you are in cyberspace. What you want to do is have your site optimized or a single splash page created for optimization, so visitors can find you in search results. I am currently working on a project for the state of Alaska that would be a prime example. As you will see if you type in something like "buy alaskan products direct" on Google, my Alaskan Direct [Link removed - Admin] site is in the #3 position (and this is still in development) if you click the link you will see the splash site that links to our shopping cart. This makes advertising an option instead of necessity.

I'm not seeing a site in your signature, but a lot depends on the type of site you have, and how you have built it to appeal to the search engines as well as real people.
Is your site theme specific? If it is, do you have a lot of keyword focused content pages? The more good quality content you provide, the better the search engines like you and visitors find you helpful.
You need some decent inbound links from other sites on a similar topic. Consider exchanging links with high PR sites. You can sign up for free link exchanging at [Link removed - Admin] and they will match you with other related sites.
You can also, as mentioned, write articles that link back to your site, as well as post in related forums. This will raise your SEO a bit too.
I'm hesitant to pay for traffic. I just don't do it, personally, but a lot of people do. If your site is offering an in demand, high cost product, it might be worth your investment if you get a decent percentage of paying customers from your ads. If not, you can quickly go broke on advertising costs.
To get a better understanding of traffic, specifically, targeted traffic I recommend [Link removed - Admin] You don't just want visitors, you want visitors who are looking for what you are offering.
I hope that helps.

You know I've tried using trafficswarm and didn't really like it. not only do I have lik e150 credits but they are also just sitting there. I've had much much more success with trafficg.com. The problem with these services is that you have to click to get clicks which means you are most likeley being viewd by people just clicking...not exactly a target market.
Your best bet is forum posting in whatever you are trying to sell.
The Jury is still out on Article marketing for me as i've only just started doing that about a week now.
For pure hits though check trafficG.com

what is your budget regarding getting traffic? if you want quick traffic you might try finding a reputable list broker (emails). if you find the right one you can build a list in no time flat, as to conversions to sales, it all depends on your product/service AND sales pitch. for free traffic, there's everything from PPC to blogging, safelists, seo, blah blah.
incidentally, 9 out of 10 people will have some kind of negative experience with purchasing leads, all i can say to that is you didn't do "due dilligence" or there was some kind of assumption that if one PAID for an email campaign for x amount of leads one is suppose to make money. AND if it doesn't happen, it's considered a SCAM or ripoff.

I must say many of the methods have been mentioned above but you must remember that if you do go down the root of adwords your site must be effective at converting visitors and you should also make sure you do your research first as many people lose lots of money diving into adwords and not knowing a thing.

SEO is a lengthy process, but trust me, when you're ranked in the top 5 for your chosen keywords and receiving tons of FREE traffic there's no better feeling.
Focus on:
+ Quality, keyword rich content + Relevant link building. + On-site SEO optimizations
You'll get there!

I find advertising in your local community can also help, many ppl who shop for groceries, have a board where you can put that source of info out.
You can even ask if you can post on another businesses window.

Check out Tellman Knudson's information. He teaches all of the elements of list building including driving traffic.
His site dedicated to traffic is www.myfirsttraffic.com
It's a $97 dollar course but well worth it in my opinion
Over the years I've found a multi-faceted approach works best. Pick one element to focus on (I choose PPC) and make that your "anchor" method. Then, experiment with others such as article writing and e-zine solo ads.
Tellman talks about a total of 17 traffic sources and of those I use about 4 on a regular basis.

Getting traffic to your site is a daunting thing if you are new to owning a website. Even people with years of experience find it difficult at times to get traffic. Internet marketing is essential if you want to profit on the web. The thing that is important however, is that your needs are different from everyone elses needs. What can work for your website, might not nessacerly work for the next person.
The best advice...........experiment. It is a trail and error thing. I'm not talking about buying expensive programs. I'm talking about getting down and dirty----->> researching. I mean if you are serious about making money online, then you better come to the field prepared. If someone gives you offers.....check them out. Ask people. People on this board love to give advice. They want to see you succeed.
Let me know how things go.

I don't see any site in your signature, but the ideas given above are good. It takes time to be visible and rank high in the search engines. Create rich content, submit to directories, leave your link in your signature in forums and when you leave comments in blogs, but make sure the sites allow it and that you leave useful replies, that way people will be interested to visit your site.
If it's a website about making money I can help you with some free exposure on the blog in my sig, so send me a private message hare and I'll let you know if your site can be listed.
Good luck!

If you would like to bring in targeted people, try using paid to click. Its very cheap. With $1 you can get 80 visitors. This is great. But the problem in paid to click is the return on sales percentage is low. Any way this will be useful for you. Best paid to click site is clixsense.com

I just spent some time trying out different options with Google's Adwords. You really need to be experienced selecting the right words for your business/ website, otherwise it will drain your wallet quickly! In some popular categories like web hosting, car shopping, financials, mortgage, computers, etc. you will need to bid well above $1 per click to draw any meaningful traffic from Google or the Search Network.

Quoting: samueldarwin Best paid to click site is clixsense.com
Also checked out clixsense.com but don't see how you can get SERIOUS customers to visit your website. Here is why:
I create an account with clixsense, and post my website. They promise plenty of traffic driven to my website, I get daily statistics which shows how many times someone visited my site. Of course, this is for a "fee", I will get charged for every click, it's not free.
At the same time, clixsense also recruits "home business opportunity seekers" from the internet and promise to pay them $0.01 - $0.02 for every advertisement they click on for 30 seconds. They will be the ones that will visit YOUR website, they are the traffic to YOUR website, they do the work for clixsense. But those "home business opportunity seekers" have no interest in you advertisement or your business, they just want to collect the $0.01 - $0.02 . I did it too for a while, clicked on 32 ads and accumulated $0.32 in my account. Honestly, I did not pay any attention to any of those ads because they seem to be the same ads over and over. If clixsense has thousands of members and only 10% visit your website every day, that's plenty of traffic but no sales. There is got to be something better than this!
Let me know what you think!

You put your link in the ebook and give everyone right to give away to their friends.., you give the information about your business or good article in the ebook / report.

Have you tried putting your website line in your email signature? I often get funny or informational emails from friends that are worth forwarding to others. My website addresses are in my signature. As the email circulates, lots of folks see the website links. A curiosity will cause some to click on them.
