At last I have succeeded in creating an rss file (I used to think that I could never comprehend it). I have uploaded the file and placed an xml icon on my site. I would like to learn a little more. If I add a new page I have to add one more item to the rss file and upload it again. If I modify the content of an EXISTING PAGE it does not appear at the top of my rss reader (I use Awasu). I know I have to add some code so that the last modified page appears at the top but have no idea what it is. Can any one offer some advice on how to do this. Many thanks in advance.

I don't think modifying the content of a page (item) in the rss feed would diplay it at the top in any rss reader. For it to display at the top, you must push that item to the top. Since you are doing it manually, it's tough but most software (blog) do it automatically.

Hi Vishal, Thanks. I am still a baby when it comes to rss. I am planning to start a proper forum on my site to discuss issues related to child health and family. I am curious to know how the latest discussions show up on rss reader. Is there a separate software for that which automates the whole precess? I have added some forum feeds to my rss reader and noticed that the latest post is displayed at the top even if the thread was started earlier which means it is not a new item.

It depends on how the feed is updated by the software you are using to publish your site. There may be standalone software to generate feeds from your site but I doubt their efficiency compared to publishing software that generate feeds by themselves. For example, this forum updates the feeds automatically when new posts are made. So when choosing a publishing software (forum/blog/website), make sure they have rss feed generating capablities.

I added my feed to feedburner and got the codes for my yahoo and add to google buttons. I have placed these buttons on the site and they seem to be working properly. On the feedburner site I could not get the code for the my msn button. Will you kindly tell me how I can get the code. I tried to save the image and link to it by using the code I get after clicking on the my msn button on this site but changing the url to my feed burner url but it does not seem to work. Many thanks in advance,
