Hi,

"Content is King" as most internet guru's would say.

Most people will scan a site rapidly and can take in a large amount of text in a relatively short time. So lots of relevant and interesting content may help you.

Also, offering something for free, like an e-book, might be useful, and if you can get their email address you can keep in touch with them by an opt-in newsletter.

Remember, most people go on the internet purely for information and they generally dont want to pay for it. So offer them information, and then once you've built up their trust, they are more likely to buy from you.

Hope this helps.

What kind of product are you selling? Is it priced competively? Unless you are selling something that fulfills the visitors need, it is difficult to convert to a sale

Hi jpbass31,

Just make sure you're targeting the right traffic.

BTW..I tired clicking on your sig to see what you're site looks like but after about :35sec nothing popped up? Maybe that could be one of your issues.

All good responses and I have only one thing to add.

As webcomsystems mentions, "content is king", but you need to make sure that the combined with the quality content that you are also targeted the right keywords for the high quality content.

If I am repeating sorry.

But if you targeting "email marketing" but sending them to a "work from home job" site then they may not be interested.

I would say take the time to develop a Lead Capture page and start a drip campaign.(use an auto-responder and develop a relationship with the person before hard selling them) Most demographics online say it takes a customer 7 times or six weeks before they make a buying decision. Chances are you will never get them on the first visit! The odds are you have lost them for good. Now, if you can get a #1 ranking on Google your chances are always better from a mere numbers standpoint.

I agree with Brad. Having an opt in page with an autoresponder is the way to market.

Simply having a company replicated web site just isnt effective.

Having a free offer is a great way to get people's contact information and that is what every marketer needs.

Remember on the internet we are marketing to complete strangers and it almost never happens that they buy on first exposure.

All people prefer free things. Offer some free stuffs and related information in your website will help your visitors to stay.

Content is important in the website.

Brad's right, you need to have an autoresponder set up and build a relationship with your prospects. They want to know about you. People buy people, not businesses. It's highly unlikely you'll get them to purchase anything their first time on your site. Also, offering something of value, but that is FREE is a good way to go, too. You also want to consider having a picture of yourself with audio on your site, you'll increase your opt in rate by 300% having audio on it. Hope that helps!

It depends on what you are selling. By having content that are updated regularly, your visitors will come back and look at your website.

Content is important, put yourself in your visitors' shoes, what do you want when you visit the website.

Ask your friends, ask online experts to evaluate your website. And be prepared to receive negative response, learn from them.

Hi jpbass31, your content is the most important thing. It should attract customers towards you. You should have some useful and effective representation of the product you are selling. If you can satisfy the customers, then only you will get traffic. Good luck in promoting your website.

I agree with Brad and JoAnne. I had a company replicated site for my health and wellness biz and, while it worked well for existing customers and reorders... it did little in the way of making sales on the spot for new customers. Believe me, new customers didn't just stumble upon my website by accident. I had very little traffic other than existing traffic and team member traffic. I then learned that I needed my own site specific to a certain product line and I essentially 'bribed' people to leave their name and email address by offering them a free report about the subject. I then was able to capture their email address and send follow-up email messages to them announcing my monthly specials. I've made many, many sales this way.

Hi jpbass31,
Have you followed the AIDA formula?
This is a proven over time formula that many successful copywriters use.
You can do a search and find a lot of good info.

I also feel interactive websites help also.

I hope this helps!

I would suggest to come up with new media contents.

Either a podcast show or video shows.

In my opinion, videos works the best on gaining reader/user attention.

As Gary V says, Get the eye balls focused.

Newsletters are also a great way.
One technique i use on my blog is that I add links to related information at the bottom of each blog posts. The links are pages from my blog. I do this each time I post.

A lead capture page is where people opt in to get a free newsletter or something, and then as you build your list of subscribers, you constantly drip on them with news and tidbits (and of course, you have links to your own stuff in the newletters)

It's a great way to build confidence with your readers so they know you are not a scam.

SBI comes with a great system to do that with on your website.

I went to your website nwadima. What system are you referring to?
It talks about a great system but then I don't see anywhere to find out about it specifically.

To be more practical, any pictorial representation will grab the attention of the visitor.

Host some beautiful (Be a little careful here !) pictures and videos.

I agree that you should focus on your content. Also make your site more appealing as overall appearance of a website is a factor of making your audience stay.

Lead capture pages are good. How about providing something of a promotional nature i.e. free report. Also I agree with previous posts. Content is king. You have to have some intriguing and keyword specific content. If you're having trouble with this, try getting a free lancer through Scriptlance.com
