I read all the posting about advertising on Craigslist. Most of it was negative. I posted an add yesterday and got 46 hits with 24 clickthroughs in 1 day. Now I am not promoting a business in a box, just advice as you can see in my sig. I posted under personals rant and rave. Is this a bad thing to do and will I get banned for adding my link to my lens which of course offers a clickbank product?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I dont think so. A member was saying that he got some sales after listing it in craiglist.

Just let us know.

Since it falls under a different category i don't think you will have much resistance. just don't overpost or you might get your posting reported and removed.

I haven't had much luck with craigslist seems all I get is junk mail trying to sell me their products. I even have the do not contact with business opp. checked and I still get the emails. I would love to hear if anyone is having some success with craigslist and how they are doing it.

I think it might be against Craigslist TOS to do stuff like that...

I got flagged, but I did get a good bit of traffic from it before. Not sure it was qualified, or just curious. When I advertised a business opportunity in the beginning of my venture I too got a lot of emails from people trying to interest me in their business.

Advertising on Craigslist is similar to advertising on traffic exchanges and safelists: You are primarily advertising to other home biz / MLM / affiliate marketers.

Therefore, your best bet is to advertise a product or service for marketers.

Also pay attention to the Craigslist TOS. Trying to be sneaky works in the beginning (many are doing it on Twitter now) but Craigslist has been there, seen that, and they've cracked down on all the "techniques" so don't waste your time trying to game the system (not that I think the original poster was necessarily trying to do that).

I hope this helps,

Mark

My obstacle is I am not advertising a home business. I posted in rants and raves as I mostly offer advice. I think I got flagged because I tried to post a very similar add in more than one city. I beleive this is why I was flagged.
