Hi Everybody!
A while ago I posted the topic, Google AdWords?, and had some great tips and advice from everyone on how to spend my $30 Google AdWords credit.
So here are the results...
Impressions = 82,582 Clicks = 241 Click Through Ratio = 0.29% Average Cost Per Click = $0.12
I tried to get the most bang for my buck! Let me know how I did.
Cheers!

Hi Philip,
I remember your Google Adwords post that you've linked to and the conversation that took place there.
You only spent $30 to see how it works and to poke around in the back end. That's a reasonable price to pay just to see how some of it works.
CTR is about half the acceptable minimum. My advice is to either improve the relevancy or the PPC copy.
CPC is insignificant due to the fact that you aren't measuring it against something meaningful such as:
Sales Conversions with dollar amount and profit Subscriber Acquisition Increase in loyal readers Whatever
You should still have $1.08 left in the account.
To see what you might do to achieve a desired result next time you run a campaign, be sure to read up on PPC and use the tips offered in the thread you linked to - "Google Adwords".
Be sure to have a specific reason in mind and a tracking system in place to measure your results before you run the next campaign.
In any case, it is fun to run your first campaign to see how some of it works. Did you enjoy it? What was your main motive for running it?

Hi NS,
Thanks for the comment!
I received a $30 credit from my domain host and so since I didn't have any experience with PPC, I thought I would take the $30 and turn it into a learning experiment.
I did learn quite a bit while running the campaign and tweaked it along the way. I got a few conversions out of it, so I'm satisfied.
Do I plan to run another PPC campaign in the near future? Probably not until I get a descent cash flow started from organic traffic and learn a bunch more about PPC.
Cheers!

hey there not bad at all you got some nice impressions however your CTR was quite low generally 1-2% is ok 3-5% Is brilliant. Anyway good job perhaps you need to reasearch ppc a little.

Phil, those numbers look pretty good especially when you consider the expense was on someone else's dime. The CTR is a little low as s12345 pointed out but your ROI is off the charts since you had sales with no expenses.

I would really like to know how you did that. I have often read articles that claim they got PPC advertising for 10 cents a click, but anytime I try to go below 50 cents a click, I don't get advertised or I get barely any impressions on Google. You can get a lower price on content than on search and I recently put one up for about 1.50 per click and 75 cents limit on content and they did give me some content for about 35 cents, but I tried just putting it on content with a low bid and nothing happened so I would really like to know from Philip how he did this and why don't you continue?

Hi Claire,
If you do a little research, "work at home" is really hot in Asia, especially in India and Sri Lanka. It really depends what you are marketing to make advertising in these places pay off. My site advertises free signups for freelance marketplaces, so I'm not trying to sell anything. If you try to sell in the 3rd world, I'm not sure how much luck you'll have. Anyway, advertising with Google is very inexpensive there and that's how I got the stats I did.
I recently advertised with Bidvertiser, using another free credit, this time $20. I advertised in the U.S. and set my bid at a $0.20 max, and averaged a CPC of $0.16 with a CTR of 1%. I was really happy with this outcome and plan to use Bidvertiser again once I get the final results for signups. Here is a breakdown of all of the stats.
Impressions - 11,746 Clicks - 119 CTR - 1.01% Cost - $ 18.68 CPC - $ 0.16
Good luck with it Claire, and let us know how thing turn out for you.
Cheers!
