sorry I have been a little busy, here goes,
well firstly,People who are looking for something specific are more likely to buy from you when you offer them the thing they are specifically looking for. People who are not looking for what you have to offer, are less likely to buy what you are offering. Can and will people buy on impulse when they are not looking? Yes, but the percentage of people making that buying action is dramatically smaller than a target market and you waste more time and money advertising to them than it would be worth.
Here are some proven and powerful tips for promoting most anything online by using discussion groups and your chatting skills. This is called Posting or Tagging on forums and discussion boards that people visit daily. Not only does it increase traffic to your website, but it also creates another back-link for the search engines to find, making your site more relevant in their generic search rankings. Discussion boards are a great way to spread the word when you are trying to sell a product or service. Best of all it's FREE. However, you need to know what to say, where to say it and how to say it. As I have said before, most opportunity sites, affiliate programs or internet gurus will NOT teach you these things. One marketing tip is, you DO NOT have to even mention what you are selling ...... as long as you edit your SIGNATURE BOX and put your text advertisement in there, it will do the work for you. This means whenever you post a message, your signature should show up at the bottom of your message. You can chat about anything and every time you post something, your signature will promote your links that connect to your websites.
By visiting and posting messages on discussion boards where money, making money, income, internet based business, and other such subjects are talked about, and your links are promoting something along the same line, you are going to get clicks. And the more clicks you get, the more people you are going to get signed up. If only 1 out of every 100 visitors signed up and you were getting 100 visitors a day, that would be 7 team member in just one week.

FORUMS
(FORUMS), are some of the biggest person-to-person and group communication centers on the Internet. These are "watering holes" where people congregate for knowledge.
Benefits: The greatest benefit of forums is, the opportunity for you to advertise your products and business. The next benefit of forums is higher Google search engine rankings. The way Google works is, the more links you have referencing your web pages from other pages on the Internet (other than on your own website), the more important your website will seem to the search engine spiders. So, the more times you can post your link on forums, the more links you'll have pointing to your site and the greater your potential for higher rankings. And as I will explain below, increasing that potential relies partially on what it says in the link.
Effort + Links + Forums = Traffic = Higher Rankings = $Money$

This is great information Henry! I have definately brought more traffic to my websites just by posting in this forum! Do you suggest any other forums or discussion boards that you particularly like?

I'm glad you found my info of interest bdkfreedom, a few of my favorite home business focused forums include:
http://www.freeadzforum.com Large - Post your opportunity here easy
http://www.talkgold.com/forum/index.php Large - allows immediate signature creation
http://www.webtalkforums.com Small
http://www.irishwebmasterforum.com Smaller group
http://www.thefinanceforums.com Small
Strategy:
Big, large boards are good for having repeated visits and discussions.
Small boards are ok for posting messages once in a while.
Tiny boards are probably going to be niche topic boards. Post once in a great while and use it to simply get the word out.
Finally, I mainly use these forum directories to find others.
http://www.big-boards.com This is the largest searchable directory of forums. Use this as a resource for finding the forums to post messages on, not for posting.
http://www.thebiggestboards.com Another big directory for finding forum websites.
I have a database of over 250 different forums which is available to my downline, it just depends on what your promoting.
Happy posting.
p.s. I`v also found that signing up to business focused social networking sites can increase your traffic immediately, simply sign up, add friends from business focused groups and network with them.

Advertising -use google adwords but make sure that you use targeted keywords e.g. if your website is about travelling to a certain country do not use travel as a keyword because that is going to cost u a lot and mostly from people just browsing.Use just the name of the country or town. Posting-post relevant content and always attach your url at end of every post and post as often as possible. For this attach keywords relevant to your site. For this as in example above you should include travel Forums -do a google search on forums related to your site and join.Make relevant posts and attach ur url Blogs -start a blog and insert a link to your website.Market this blog as above and ultimately market your site Classifieds-place a free ad on e.g. USFreeads-free for a while Article Marketing -write articles on relevant subjects and attach link back to your site.Valuable backlink on e.g. ezine articles

Joining forums is a great way for a newbie to learn valuable information! I'm still in the process of learning how to best market my new website and have begun joining forums to learn more about the best techniques. I found this one by entering "Work At Home Forums" in Google and joined to enjoy the experience of exchanging ideas with other internet marketers.

I'm also trying yahoo answers which i very much enjoy without trying to drive traffic to my site because it feels good when you can help someone.
I use a 10:1 ratio of non-promotion driven answers to promotion driven answers. All of my promotion driven answers are always very good and RELEVANT answers to the questions with a link in the source box instead of the text.
Anything else you can teach me with this or add to this.
Thanks for the help

I never thought of yahoo answers Kerri, thats a good one! Although generally I always get distracted by questions like "My boyfriend put his tongue in my mouth-could I be pregnant?" What about google adwords vs yahoo ppc? The competition is apparently a lot less on google so its possible to pay less for higher rankings. Can anyone verify this?

The competition is MUCH less on Yahoo. In my experience keywords are much cheaper to purchase from yahoo. However, be careful. If the web page you are promoting has a popup upon exit, Yahoo does not allow that.

Hi Priestess,
Actually, the opposite is true. YAHOO! PPC is cheaper and less competitive than Google PPC. Microsoft is also cheaper and less competitive than Google.
Most seem to prefer Google as they are the kings of relevance. But, Google is more competitive and more expensive. It's worth it to give all three ad networks a try and see first hand which you prefer. Some like to continue using more than one network, it's up to you.
Know that each network has different rules and the back end is also different. It would be wise to become quite familiar with each before you run a campaign.

Hi Kerri,
That's pretty much how I go about it. The ratio seems about right though you might be able to get away with a tighter aspect.
YAHOO! Answers is a very touchy place and it's easy to get banned. I know this because one of my profiles did get banned and they don't seem to allow contesting their decision.
So your cautious ratio and suggestion to offer good value is right on the money.
There's really nothing more to add except that it's a good idea to sign up with a new through away email addy and to be careful which threads you interact with.

Hi Clay,
Yes you can and that's exactly what I had to do :)
Kerri F: Thanks Newbie Shield.
Hi Kerri,
You're welcome. I gather that you realized I meant to say "throw away" email rather than "through away" email, whoopsie :) It sounds like you've got the Yahoo Answers thing down well.

Yes i totally understood what you mean with throw away email. As for Yahoo Answers, i just like helping people. I haven't been doing it very long. I have only answered a few questions, but people really like them because i have a lot of best answers. Sometimes i forget i'm marketing at the same time. People like nice, honest people who want to help them.
