Hi Angel,
You can find better ways to generate traffic. If you join a traffic exchange, the resulting traffic won't stay for long and few if any will buy anything.
I wouldn't waste my time.

Angel,
Traffic exchanges work by surfing member web sites for free credits. Typically for each member web site you visit, you earn one credit which gets your web site 1 view. So the more web sites you surf the more visits or credits your web site earns.
Newbie Shield makes a very good point though. Most members of traffic exchanges aren't interested in the content of the web sites they visit. They are only looking to earn credit or visits to their own site so they quickly surf as many sites as possible without so much as cursory glance at the content in your site.
You will get traffic with traffic exhanges but no customers or sales.

most traffic exchanges are junk because everyone is trying to do the same thing you are.... get more traffic. so no one is really paying attention or willing to buy anything. they just want hits. but everynow and then a blind dog will find a bone. so if you are doing nothing else to generate traffic its probably your best bet.

Hi, angel1265. A traffic exchange is a way to get visits to your site, provided you visit other people's sites, using a traffic exchange interface. You must join a traffic exchange company, in order to get credits for every website you visit (or "surf"). Using several traffic exchanges at the same time, and in the proper way, you can generate between 500 and 2000 credits an hour, i.e. up to 2000 hits to your website. Converting those hits into sells is another story ) but it's possible to get leads and build a list, that will later generate cash and residual income. Traffic exchanges are powerful, in the proper hands.

If you sign up for a FREE traffic exchange...it can't hurt, right? I joined one yesterday, and my webpage was viewed by 17 people in a couple hours. Nothing huge, but more than if I hadn't joined. And everyone else here is right, most people on the traffic exchange are doing the same thing you're doing. However, when I click through the sites to earn credits, I am always open to new opportunities. In fact, I signed up for a free one yesterday that I found out about through the traffic exchange. So bottom line, if it's free...you might as well take the 30 minutes or so it takes to get things set up and drive some extra traffic to your site.

You view the ads of others in exchange for them looking at yours. It can be effective but only if you have a really interesting thing to offer with a great website.

Hello every one. I am new here and find all the information very useful, but I am still learning.
I agree with mclaug4. So why not try the traffic exchange to get your site started. Then start working on the quality. With the exchange it will at least start getting your status going.
Also will this not help you the search engines.

I don' feel that they are worth the time. You are just trading your links to other sites that don't generate many views. You are wasting ad space on your pages and aren't gaining valued traffic.
