Ten days ago I earned $123.06. One was a commission for $100 for a keyword tool, and another was a for $23.06 for an ebook about how to make money with eBay.

i hate to be, well a little slow on this but i understand the affiliate program and clickbank but i was wondering if somebody could explain it in simple terms for me. from what i understand is that you find the products on click bank, usally with the most grav and then you review them and write unbiased articales about them and put the link in hopes that somebody will buy it and you will get a generous commision. the things that i dont understand is that first, where are good sites to post about these and second is it worth the time to do this (do yo make decent money). one last thing is also how hard is it to research these products? thank you for your time =P

OK, so I am new at this. I have written articles, lense on Squidoo, Press Releases, Blogs, and Ads. How long did it take some of you until you saw some income from your efforts?

Before using PPC to advertise your affiliate link for someone else's product, it's always a good idea to have a realistic think about the situation you're setting up there.
You, the affiliate, are advertising someone else's product for them and you're taking all the risk and paying all the advertising expenses out of your cut. If the product can be sold profitably that way, wouldn't it pay the vendor more to promote it that way himself rather than paying commissions to affiliates?
I'm not saying the answer will always necessarily be a negative one, from your perspective, but it bears thinking about, doesn't it?

What is plenty? To me plenty would be about $6,000 to $7,000 a month and great would be $10,000 a month. These figures would replace my 8 to 5 and I am trying to do that but been totally unsuccessful so far. Care to share more on "free advertising and how you use it?
Thanks,
Steve

I make most of my money through clickbank they are awesome. I have to say i love affiliate marketing but be careful if you are going to enter the adwords side of advertising when i first started out i thought i could master adwords but i was so wrong and ended up losing a lot of money so i would only enter this if you have done your homework and fully understand how to make a profit from it.
There are lots of clever people out there that are willing to help you but be careful there are a lot of rip off merchants as well, i was very fortunate that i was put in touch with a wonderful guy who helped me out a hell of a lot in my early days.
Give it a try, good luck.

I can relate to this I will say though my site isn't really geared to selling just yet. I started my focus on getting articles and the like up and going . The traffic is definitely there though which is good. Now I just need to work on conversion.
On a side note, I have noticed that as pure traffic generation goes, Ezinearticles.com vs. Associatedcontent.com has been very different. Ezine articles on articles that are near in nature and show up in many of the same searches don't have a near 3:1 ratio on click through. I would attribute this to the "author bio" with ezine, versus the "supporting links" section on associated. Although I have already made $5 with associatedcontent.com because of page views.
If associatedcontent.com would allow a Author Bio box in the actual article similar to ezinearticles it would be the best tool ever.

Well by conversions I mean turning shoppers into buyers. Or info seekers into buyers. Articles are designed to create traffic, good articles can start pre-selling things or setting the emotional groundwork for "the sale". Once they click through to your site for "more information" then your site has to be able to close the deal. Right now my sites just not doing that based on the numbers for a market I feel should be doing much better and after reviewing the site I think I know why, now it's just a matter of fixing it.
You can have a million visitors to your site, but you're not winning if you're not selling.
