If you're currently in a home business and it's just not working for you, ask yourself, is it the business or is it your marketing? 95% of all marketers fail because of what their not doing. Cold calling, getting friends & family to join is old school and not that effective in todays market. Social marketing is one of the best way to get the leads you want and the applications you need to make your business work. If you're on a budget, this is a free way to get your business started. Don't be pushy. If you don't know what some free sites are, google "free social networking" or craigs list. Craigs list is one of the top 5 free sites to go to. Direct matches is a low cost marketing effect to try. If you have a little spending budget, look into getting a business coach. If that is not what you want, read everything on how to market. Being knowledgeable is what's going to get you heard. Set up a marketing budget. Don't go over that budget. If you're spending more than $500 a month before you get you're first sale, you're doing it wrong. Xango is another low cost site to advertise. If you're lookijng for more ideas, please email me.

Knowledge is power. Learn as much as you possibly can about the market and your niche. When you are educated about how and where to market your business online, it will be a lot easier to gain success online. Also you will go through a lot less headache than someone just "shooting in the dark" so to speak.

Breanne, thank you for the reply. You're right. Master marketers, want nothing but the best not only for their team but for all that are looking into a business. They will go through trial & errors, as we all have. Stay focused. It will all come in time.
To your continued success, Michelle

Knowing how to market to your target market is key. The business I'm in now has videos the owner created to show it's new affiliates how and where to market correctly, plus there's FREE and paid methods. Before this business, I was failing miserably, I was being taught to market the old school way and I wasn't comfortable doing that. I now know how to market anything online and what a difference that knowledge has made. Also, you want to follow what successful people are doing, don't try to reinvent the wheel.

I also wanted to add that articles and press releases are FREE marketing methods, plus they're very powerful! You can gain a ton of consistent traffic from one article or press release. Obviously, the plan would be to write several per week and submit them so you get a continuous stream of targeted leads.

I make a full time living online and spend less than $500 a month to do it. I mostly do free advertising like article marketing, blogging, social bookmarking, and forum marketing. I do pay to automate my business when I can. It all comes down to having a good funnel system in place.
Traffic-->Landing Page-->Capture Form-->Autoresponder-->Blog or Website
If you get enough traffic and follow up with some of it you can make money online if you have a good product people need.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, old school ways are over. With all the newbies out there, they need as much guidence as they can get. Even the old dog learns new tricks. Being a master marketer, I am still learning something new everyday. When I started my own business, I knew nothing about the web or marketing. The only thing that I did know is I wanted to make a huge impact on my financial future. I searched & searched, and found the best company for me. There were so many people willing to help me succeed and so much training information at my finfuretips for me to reach my goals. Read everything that you can and put to use what you've learned. You'll go far.
To your continued succcess, Michelle

Michelle,
You need to spend a week or two pouring over threads so that you might have the beginning of a clue about the basics of online marketing before you attempt to pass yourself off as an authority.
Your posing is very annoying and furthermore, I hope that you learn to break up your copy into smaller blocks. Your big, one paragraph writing style is giving me a migraine. Have mercy.
Thanx a ton,
~Newbie Shield~

Thanks everyone!
I can't get enough of forums for this very reason! I'm so thankful there are people as nice as you to share your knowledge with newbies like me.
I am currently writing articles, press releases, blogging, and social booking marking. I am still trying to wrap my head around key words.
I'm using google's keyword tool to do this but I'm not sure I'm grasping it yet. If anyone can shed some light that would be great. I'm trying to read as much as I can!
Thanks again, Victoria

Victoria......When you choose keywords, whether they be for articles, press releases or PPC, you want to use specific keywords. You'll get targeted leads by using specific keywords instead of general ones. Hope that helps!

Thanks CSGWAHM,
I don't know what it is about keywords that gets me so confused! Its not that complicated I just don't know if I should choose ones with lots of traffic because then the competition is higher and the likely hood of my article or whatever being clicked on is much lower.
Maybe I'm just reading too much into it!
Thanks again, Victoria

Just starting with the affiliate marketing and absorbing alot of info right now. Hoping my experience with marketing and running my own retail business can work with the internet. Is there anything that someone new should be looking for as afr as a "better way" for traffic generation. I've done email blast before, in my previous business. Does that work better than say Google Adwords?

I have been doing home business for around two and half years now on and off. I have made money and I have lost alot of money. Now I am marketing a free online business opportunity. What is the best way to market such a product?
