Things like targeted traffic and bounce rates are usually concerns to people, as they're important to success. Just curious though, what you consider a good number of average page views in a session by a visitor?

I'm sure that there are differences between niches and other mitigating factors like website size, but I'm guessing that there's some sort of general, or even arbitrary, standard.

Was simply wondering, as I always hear that more page views per user = better. However, I don't ever recall anyone mentioning what a decent number of average views is

Hi thugfried,

My website is in its early months so i havnt been getting the traffic volume i hoped to get but ill give you an example of a typical days traffic and page views. At 12.00pm today i checked my Google Analytics and there was a total of 11 visitors and 32 page views.

Again this is a very small amount of traffic compared to what other members must be getting but maybe that will help answer your question.

I tend to average 3-4 page views per visitor. I don't know if that is the norm or not, but it seems to be the 'norm for me' across all of my sites.

Depends on your website structure, for some websites, you have to open many pages to access any kind of information

That's sort of what I was thinking - certain structures and sizes should lead to different click data.

...Anyway, I've looked at data from a couple of sites, and 2-3.5 seems to be fairly common. So, that's what I've just adopted as a gauge for normalcy.

I've been hovering around 3.3 for awhile now, but I see some steady improvements.

Thanks for your responses
