This has probably been dealt with in detail in earlier posts, but i want to ask all you MLM, Networking Pros. How does one Recruit Up? I hear a lot about looking for successful people, that those people are successful for a reason. But aside from calling every law firm, Banker, Ceo, Doctor, Chiropractor, etc. in the phone book, how does one go after these kinds of people? I am working on learning how to do articles, blogs, SEO on my capture pages, etc. to generate my own targeted leads. Those tactics are slow, but i understand very successful over the long haul. I'm contributing in several forums, as well. In fact i posted this in another forum last night.
In the meantime, i need traffic, qualifed targeted traffic. And, i would like to know how to go after those successful people. What about MLM Geneology lists, do those work? Are there internet communities frequented by successful people willing to entertain other options? Just how does one go about Recruiting Up? Anyone want to help here?

I would be interested in this topic also.
I have heard that the MLM geneology lists are worthless. Sometimes there are people who have been out of MLM for five years or more and you get their name, a lot of worthless leads.

Recruiting up is one of the best ways to build you business with true winners that will build your residuals much faster.
I wouldnt try so hard on doctors and lawyers so much. Stick with Realtors, Mortgage brokers and sales/marketing professionals. These people really understand how to work on mostly commission and are usually driven without much inspiration.
You need to think about where these people spend thier time offline and online. Try a trade publication that only a realtor would read. Change you ad copy to attract a professional type person. Think about what they struggle with. Most realtors and mortgage people are hurting big time right now because of the down market. They are dying to see what you have to offer.
I advertise on Craigs list in the Sales/marketing jobs section. I just change the ad copy to fit. That has worked well for me. In fact, one sales individual that came into my business was the top producer where he worked. He has proven to be the easiest to teach and will make his first sale today after only two weeks in.
If you go to ToddFalcone.com he has a whole course on prospecting up. I dont know if it will help but worth a look. Good luck.

Can you advertise an MLM in Craigs? I thought they prohibited it. That question aside, i like what you said about trade publications, and about:

That has given me some real food for thought. There are probably good online and offline ways to get the message to realtors, mortgage brokers, sales professionals. I would love to hear from y'all on that one.
Cudos, Bill. Very good insight.

I wouldn't worry too much about finding a heavy hitter. Do the work and bring-em in one by one. You never know who people are connected to.
Also its hard to pre-qualify people in this business. I read somewhere that the top person in MLM a few years ago was a Maid.
Just keep plugging away, It takes time, but will all fall into place after a few months of persistance.

Seashell: The key to abundant work is referrals and repeat business. This only works if they remember your name. Build your Business with Refferals Seashell, how do you do the post card thing? Do you buy lists and send to them, or does the post card vendot supply you leads? Who to you send the post cards to? Do you send real postcards via snail mail, or are they E cards? Tell me more.

I tried many MLM programs, It took me weeks to recruit one person and I feel like I'm wasting my time. It seems easy at first, but when I get actually get started, I rarely get any results.

There is a great website that you can buy leads from and they direct them directly to your website. It is specifically for people that are looking to work from home. They also have a free trial period where they will give you 10 free leads. I got someone from one of the free leads! The name of the company is networkercentral. Hope that helps!

You should always assume that your new prospects will acheive greatness. I think you can pre-qualify prospects with ad copy and placement of those ads.
Purchased leads do work to some extent. The targeting of those leads is out of your hands so you never know what you are going to get.
I have had some success with purchased leads but have spent way more than the ROI. So I will continue to become a master marketing and generate more focused and income producing leads.

It's funny how we grow and develop in this business. I have much more success, today, than I had when I posted this thread initially. I have learned a principle upon which I am building my whole selling and recruiting philosophy. I now market myself first, my business and or products second. I am not so desperate to bring just anyone and everyone into my organization. I am much more relaxed and focused on finding people of like passion and like mind. If I cannot sense passion, heart, desire in someone and if I can't "connect" with someone, I don't "invite" them to join me. It's almost like an interview process.
I would rather have one or two people of like mind and passion than ten without. I discover this about people by engaging in genuine conversation, by allowing them to see who Mitch Hayes is and allow them to open up and tell me who THEY are. If we are attracted to each other (much like a dating relationship, if you get what I mean) their joining me and therefore joining my business just kind of follows naturally. It isn't forced, they don't feel sold, and we both feel like we have met a new friend and a great business partner.
I hope this helps
Mitch

It is all about a targeted message to a targeted list.
It is about making your message, website, etc resonate with the prospect.
You must tell the prospect WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR.
Not what you want them to hear.
They dont want to hear your neediness, or hype, they just want the benefits to them
That is why I have become a master voice broadcaster with Ibuzz pro. I have many of these top sales pros from other industries on my team. They realize the power in a targeted message to a targeted list.
Do a podcast on say real estate and cash flow and then broadcast out to real estate agents. Works for me like a charm.
