That's a personal decision. What is your ethical stance? If you feel it is a scam, are you comfortable making your money back at the expense of others?

Cut your losses and move on to the next thing and make your money up there. Don't burn bridges to remake an investment when you can use the same bridges to create an income...

Wow... I would never promote a company if it was a SCAM. Why scam other people just to make your money back? I've been scammed many times but would never thought to continue on just to make my money back. I guess that's why I'm not RICH like all the scammers on the internet promising thousands of dollars each month without having to do much work because of their PROVEN System. Blah blah blah... anyway, good luck with your decision!!!

Close IT!!!! Unless you want to be known as the person who took others for a ride with XYZ Company? In fact, tell all of those who you have signed up or whatever to close shop too.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of other opportunities out there where you can make your money back and still be respected.
However, its a personal decision and its up to you...just don't be approaching any friends or family! or me!

At the risk of looking very stupid... how do you tell if a scheme is pyramid? I thought all MLM were pyramid.. by definition.. I'm confused..
How does MPM fit into MLM/pyramid? Or doesnt it?
My head hurts!

If you know it is apyramid scheme for sure. I don't thnk you should continue. You should file a complaint.
There are so many home-base opportunities out there that are legitimate. My business, for example, are giving real products and real potential with zero cost to join.
No MLM does not mean pyramid scheme. MLM means legitimate business, but pyramid scheme will not be able to sustain up to certain point. Business plan is completely different.

An easy way to tell if something is a pyramid scheme is to look at the pay plan...is it possible for you to earn more than the person above you?
I have recently joined an MLM that is only 27 months old, there is an old lady that is earning more that the people who started the business!
A corporate ladder looks a lot like a pyramid...the CEO on top, directors below him, managers below them etc etc. Has a manager got a chance of earning more than the CEO? Don't think so!

Personally, I couldn't promote a business if I knew if was a pyramid scheme. If you know this for sure, then I would get out of it asap. Think about it.....you wouldn't want to be scammed, so don't do it to other people. How do you know it's a pyramid scheme? Reason I ask is because alot of people assume that a pyramid scheme is something it really isn't, there's alot of bad information on the internet. Check it out thoroughly and do what your gut is telling you to do. Good luck!

Hi South,
You can Google "difference between mlm and pyramid scheme". That should explain a few things or at least give you a general idea.

It would be wise to get out now. Not only is it the ethical thing to do, but if it is truly a pyramid scheme getting out may save you some possible legal trouble.
Better safe than sorry.

Viraj,
What causes you to believe you may have got into a pyramid scheme? What tipped you off, if you don't mind my asking?

Would you want others to be scammed by this? How does it feel to get ripped off? That is how others will feel if you promote the scam.
You might consider blowing the whistle on this horror. Try the FTC, Attorney General, and the BBB. Open fire on scams. Don't hold back. You should be able to get your money back if you state the reasons that you mentioned.

I have been scammed quite a few times. There was one company I was promoting, I did not get any payment at all. Anyway I posted a positive comment about them on a forum and someone made a snide remark, 'like, good luck to you, stupid'. I was a bit offended at first, and thought "no ned to be mean". But that comment prompted me to check the site a little closer, so I started looking for a contact link or button and just couldn't find one. The ones that were in my welcoming email was a one way address, so my mails kept coming back. So I wrote a email to all the persons who signed under me, to let them know my decision and why and I just left. I haven't been back.
My advice, those persons who signed under you, need to know the truth. If you have their contact details, you can keep in touch with them with any good opportunities you may come across. They can be the beginning of your "list".

If it is a scam then get out and cut your loses. Why would you want to hurt other people at the expense of making your money back? Not only will you be hurting those people you will also be losing friends. If you tell people under you the truth they will have a higher regard for you in the future, so when you find a legitimate company to work with you can go back to them.

If this is the case, there are plenty (and popular) of these on the Internet.
I see a lot of these programs that cost $500-$1000+ to join. Part of that money goes to pay for the "Admin Fee" and the rest goes to the person(s) (upline) who recruited you. Once you're in, you'll be recruiting people into the business too. A percentage of the first 1 or 2 sales may go to your upline. When you bring in someone, their first 1 or 2 sales will go to you also. Regardless, a percentage of every sales goes to the Company as an "Admin Fee".
That's how it usually is. Sometimes, the numbers varies but the concept remains. You pay to get in, your referral gets paid, the company gets paid. When you're in, you will start recruiting others.
The problem with most of these company is that they have crappy, over-priced, outdated products. The main focus of the whole company is to bring people in. That's how everyone gets paid, or at least that's the bulk of where the income comes from. The products are just there to make it "legal". Nobody cares if the products gets sold or not as long as the "opportunity" gets sold.
When you're paying hundreds of dollars for a chance to resell products that can be found all over the place for pennies, you may want to think twice about joining. Then again, it's not the products that are attracting people. It's the opportunity to get in and sell the same opportunity to others.
Time like this is when either greed or desperation kicks in.

Remember whether you are promoting MLM or any other online business, you are building a brand name. That brand is Your Name. If you participate in a scam, even to just get your money back, your name (Brand) will always be connected to that. It is as easy a search away.
Build your brand so that your customers will feel comfortable buying from your recomendations because they know you to be honest and someone who only promotes good products.
Compare how much you lost in your MLM scam to how much you can make over a lifetime of internet marketing with a name synonymous with honest business and trusted products.
To your success,
Michael

MPM is a lot like a MLM without the negitives. It's completely free to sign up and it doesn't require you to buy anything. What you do is you sign up for a mall and do all you normal shopping from your mall and then give away other malls and ask them to do all of their purchases from their malls (over 1400 stores). Then the stores give rebates back from the purchases and it's spilt up on 9 levels. So the more malls give away and the more shopping you do yo earn more money.
