Hi, as you can tell from the title I'm having quite a bit of trouble with SEO right now.
My problem is:
I write articles that are keyword targeted with ezine articles.
After a couple of days of being live, I go to google and search for my target keyword. My article does not appear. I then search for "the keyword + ezine" and the article comes up.
Is this because I don't have enough backlinks or not enough mentioning of my keyword or something else?
Any helo would be appreciated. Thanks, srama3

Google will take some time to index your articles.
Be patient with it.
Is your articles hosted at your website or submit to article directories?

cherie27: Is your articles hosted at your website or submit to article directories? Hi cherie27, it is hosted at an article directory, and I thought that if i could find it in google, even under the wrong keyword, it was indexed? srama3

Google is so unpredictable it's not funny. Sometimes I have a hard time finding my articles and if I can't find them then I put my title in quotes. That will let you know if you have been indexed or not. At least you know you are out there somewhere.
I know it wasn't what you wanted to hear but maybe it will help answer the question if your articles was indexed or not.

Srama, writing an article with the keywords doen't guarantee you will get rankings. I think you are getting too deep on ranking ezine articles. It is good, not that much good. Ok now let me get into your case. The rank of a website has a lot of factors. On page and off page. Off page plays a vital role here. You need to get your link strategy correct Or else it is gonna mess. Try to make more links that too try to get anchors. You will see the results.

Having targeted keywords or phrases with low competition will help you tremendously.
Best of luck to you!

Stay in there, Google does not rank your stuff right away to not give away the secrets. Keep building articles with that specific keyword and you will see it slowly get to the top.

Put your keywords in the first four words of your title; otherwise, Google's little spiders crawl and see nothing. They move on.
Secondly, you can take the RSS feed of your article and put it in a feedburner to send it out or just book mark your article with Redditt, Stumble Upon, etc.
Watch out for DIGG now. They send your traffic into their website now. That was a recent change.

Remember, Google will not post immediate ranking due to hiding it's algorithm.
