Hello everyone, if you look at my number of posts and join date you will notice that I have not been here very long. But, I do have some nice information. Please read this if you are interested in Wealthy Affiliate and I will try not to bore you too much.
First some information about me. I am in college and need a summer job (I have applied EVERYWHERE but haven't had any luck). I desperately need money at the moment, but can't find a job so within the last month I have started researching ways to make money online.
First I decided to try online surveys (since they LOOK so appealling). I signed up for over a dozen free survey sites and started to do as many as I could. HOWEVER, I don't like this for two main reasons. One reason is the spam! It's a good thing I started a new email account just for surveys, because I get about 100 spam emails a day because of these survey sites. Second of all, they are not worth it. I do not qualify for most surveys because of my demographics, and the ones I do qualify don't pay me much. In the last month, I have a total of about $20 on various sites. I decided this was not the plan for me (although many others on this forum have had success with surveys, so feel free to try them if you want).
Anyway, while researching survey sites I found this forum and just happened to read about something called Wealthy Affiliate. I began doing research and couldn't find ANY negative reviews of it (look for yourself if you want). I asked a question, but I must admit, I joined WA before my question here was answered...I was that interested! I am glad I joined.
I won't bore you with all the details about Wealthy Affiliate because you can read more about those on this forum and the actual WA site if you want, but I do recommend this website.
Instead of "getting paid loads of money without having to work hard" like so many survey sites offer, this website is different. I have now been a member of WA for 3 weeks and I have pretty much been working my butt off! Again I don't have a summer job, so I have plenty of time to work at this. WA has all the steps laid out for you and tools to help you learn what to do with affiliate marketing.
Anyway, now for the REAL reason of this topic....success. I know there are plenty of threads about success with WA, but I thought I would share mine.
Again, I have only been a member for 3 weeks and I have already started making money! I will admit it is not that much at the moment (less than $50), but this means I am doing something correctly and I am on the way to making even more. When I first learned about WA on this forum 3 weeks, I had NO experience doing anything like this, but I am having success already. If I can do this, then ANYBODY can!
Also, I will warn you that, at least at first, you will need to work hard in order to succeed. I spend a few hours a day working on all the stuff I've learned. This is not a get rich fast scam, but if you work for it, then you will definitely get good results. If you have the time to spend (your amount of time will directly relate to your success), then WA is a great opportunity.
Sorry this post was so long, LOL. If any of you are still reading, then I recommend at least looking at the WA site and if you are interested, don't hesitate to join in. Although I am still fairly new to this, I would be happy to answer any questions, and if I am unable to help, then there are more experienced people on this forum that will chip in too. Hopefully this long post has helped at least one of you. Thanks for reading!

Awesome post! Congrats on your success - although $50 doesn't seem like much, many affiliate marketers who don't have the right education at affiliate marketing will quit before they have earned a dime...and your Wealthy Affiliate membership for the first month has already paid for itself! I'm sure this is just the beginning for you and that there is much more in store for you in the months to come as you keep working at it! Congrats again!

Thanks for the encouragement, getagrip. That reminds me of something else I was going to point out. Again, since I have no job I have no money (duh). After learning about Wealthy Affiliate I thought it looked like a great opportunity, but I was really wary of paying $40 to join. I thought that maybe I could learn as much as possible quickly and then cancel my subscription so I don't lose money. Since joining my plans have changed. It is worth the $40 for all the tools (and now I set up my own website using the WA hosting) and I am planning on staying. If you work hard you should be able to earn back your $40 and then some so you can keep your subscription. Unless you NEED your last bit of money to pay for food, then WA is a great chance to earn more.

Woohoo! Just a little update. Tomorrow is the first of the month, meaning WA goes through their subscription process and I will get my first money! Yes, I have technically already made money, but this is the time I will actually get paid and not just have it say I have earned money that will go into my account.
As you know,I have been here for less than a month and I have already made money. I have written dozens of articles and made some websites, and it actually doesn't seem that hard to do. Plus, with the new addition to WA coming up in the next few weeks, this is SO exciting!
Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to let everyone know how excited I am. Again, if anyone is considering joining, feel free to PM me with any questions and if you become a member I will also do my best to try to help another newbie succeed.
Happy Monday!

Hello everyone, time for another exciting update. I have now been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for about one month and one week. I have learned a ton of information and have been focusing on making landing pages and writing articles. About 10 days ago I got my first results from CLickbank. It was only a sale for $13, but I was ecstatic! There was about a week with no results then, but within the last few days I have made 4 more sales! This may not seem like much to some of you, but making over $150 in my first month was much more than I thought I could do.
I'm so excited that I'll even put up a picture of my results. Mwa haha! I know this doesn't look nearly as nice as some of the other clickbank pics you've seen before, but for a newbie like me, this is pretty nifty! Wish me luck, and I'll keep everyone posted with more updates. And again, if anybody ever has questions about joining WA, feel free to send me a PM. Have a nice day!

Hey, thanks for the support! Yep, I'm pretty excited about this. I'm still learning and am nowehere near where I'd like to be yet, but I think I'm heading in the right direction at least.
Victoria, you are definitely right that the action plan and forum help. I actually went through all of the tutorials in the learning center within my first 3 days and started working right away. The tools there are all great, but the forum is my favorite source of information. I've asked a lot there, and people always help.
Thanks again for the comments!

Hey,
Just joined up with wealthy affiliate recently and hopefully I can achieve some of the success you achieved!
Just a quick question, did you have to spend any additional cash to get where you are? Or was it all free methods?

Hi there Stringer, Welcome to WA! There are quite a few members here now. My success really isn't much compared to some of the others. Go check out the General Success forum in WA to see what I mean. Since my last post I've made a couple more sales...so I now have earned about $250 total. For a month and a half, I'm pretty happy with that, even though it's definitely a full time job salary yet.
Anyway, yes you could achieve this (and way more!) amount of success if you try, and for free. I tried out PPC, but that didn't go so well and I lost about $60 (and didn't make anything).......so I've decided to stick with bum marketing exclusively. My main process is finding keywords, making landing pages, and writing articles. All of these steps can be done for free, so you don't have to spend any money if you don't want to.
It is actually possible to do all this for free even without WA.....that site just explains things and helps me to understand everything better. I need detailed assistance, so the tutorials at WA really helped me out (that and the free course by Travis). I actually see many ways I could have done things differently and would most likely have been more successful if I had done so. First of all, start off with only one (or two or three) niches. But do NOT try to handle too many things at once. I actually just picked about 10 niches randomly and wasted time on some of them. Also, do some research before picking your niches. Don't promote something that nobody cares about, lol.
Sorry this is kind of a long reply to your quick question. But yes, it is possible for you to make money using free methods. Just do your research first and try hard, and I'm sure you'll be way better off than me in no time. If you ever need help on anything feel free to contact me. Good luck!

Hi...I'm thinking of joinig WA. I've been looking at (and bought into) things that said "Work from home and make money on the Internet) and to be honest, I don't know if they are scams or I just didn't get the right information.
Anyway...what I would like to know is ... if I know ABSOLUTELY nothing about IM and I have next to ABSOLUTELY nothing to spend in a addition to the monthly fee on WA, will I still make money if I really commit to learning and implementing what I learn on WA?
More specifically, on one WA site I saw part of the page that said "You WILL make money" How true is that and do I need to spend additional money in orderto make money on the internet?

Hi Rich, if you read through this thread you will see that I started with ABSOLUTELY no experience too. I joined WA without know what I was doing or what affiliate marketing even was. There are some mixed reviews about WA, but it has definitely helped me. As long as you are efficient with a computer you should be able to do fine.
Basically they have tutorials that walk you through what to do. There is another forum within WA so you can always get help there too if you need it. Almost everything I have learned came from my experience at WA. I don't know if "you WILL make money" though. Like anything, it depends on how hard you work. If you spend a lot of time going through the material and doing niche research you can be successful. However, just being a member at WA will not guarantee you any money.
Also, what is your money situation? Sorry if that seems a little blunt. I joined WA when I didn't have much money (and still don't have too much, lol) and it was a risky decision. For the first two months I made some money but struggled to pay to renew my WA subscription. If you can afford to join then I highly recommend it. BUT, if you are VERY low on money I would not pay for it, or anything else. It is possible to get info online for free. Basically WA just makes it easier to learn since they compile all the information into neat little tutorials and they share lots of tools, etc.
Sorry this was a little long, but I hope it helped some. I really do recommend WA if you can afford to try it out. But I don't recommend joining if you will be using the last of your money. If you have any more questions about WA or anything else, feel free to send me a PM. Take care!

Hi Fatman,
Thanks for the reply...as far as my money situation...I'm sure I could continue the monthly fee. I don't mind that you asked that question because that's of high interest and importance to me. My wife works and I am self employed but things are really slow. What I am worried about is not the monthly fee but rather, joining WA and learning that it is going to "take money to make money". Time, intelligence, diligence, a genuine interest and excitement of learning to be an efficient, clever and well informed marketeer are qualities I have. I also have a very supportive wife who knows that making money as an internet marketer is something I want to do.
That being said....the only thing I am hesitant about is learning all about internet marketing only to find out that it really does take a lot of advertising money if you want to see significant results.
You said in your response..."as long as you're "efficient" with a computer". I type over 60 words per minute. I know how to use the internet to search for information. so how much more efficiency do I need to do internet marketing?

Hi Rich!
Look, there are a lot of members that earned money just with free methods (writing articles, blogs...). It's totally your choice... WA's job is to give you any information you need in order to succeed in online business.
And as long as you are determined and motivated, there is no problem because sooner or later you will succeed. Yes it may be faster to reach a certain income with paid methods but free ones will also get you there. You said you can write 60 words per minute... wow that's fine but what really matters is what not how you write. Content is the king, valuable information is vital to attract readers.
I am a very lausy writer myself but I've learned a lot since I joined WA. At the beginning I couldn't even dish out more than 400 word article on some given topic. Now that I've written somwhere around 30-40 articles, I'm really starting to get "experienced". I finally get it and the results are slowly showing.

RichH: Time, intelligence, diligence, a genuine interest and excitement of learning to be an efficient, clever and well informed marketeer are qualities I have. I also have a very supportive wife who knows that making money as an internet marketer is something I want to do.
It sounds like you are good to go then! Time is the biggest factor if you want to succeed. Patience, intelligence, and diligence are good too. As long as you want to succeed and try hard, I'm sure that you will make money sooner or later.
As for the money, it sounds like you are in good shape with that too. At first I struggled to afford to join WA and keep up the payments...so If you can easily pay for it, then that's not a problem. Once you join they teach you two types of marketing: paid and free. Since I don't have much money to spend I am focusing entirely on free methods right now.
If you want to pay you can get faster results with PPC. But if you don't know what you are doing then you can lose money fast. Free methods take a little longer, but they are free! This is what I do. They teach you how to pick products to promote, make websites or blogs about those products, write articles, etc. So yes it is possible to make money without spending money (other than the WA fee, of course).
Also, it's hard to explain what I meant about computer efficiency. I have known some people that have trouble with RSS feeds, html coding, and some other types of techy stuff. But if you are skilled with computers I'm sure you'll do fine. It is not that hard to build a website or blog, and it's cheap too (free actually....unless you want to buy a domain name).
I hope this helps some. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Fatman,
(I feel funny calling you that). I am really encouraged by your responses. Just curious...have you ever heard of Yourbizwebsites.com or myproductcenter.com
The reason I ask is I signed up for these things and don't know what they are or how to use them. They are the sites I got directed to after falling for Duvet Dollars and then (sadly again) for something called "Underground Cash Secret".
Both claimed to be turnkey operations that would make me tons of money.
I don't know if they are scams, junk or something i just don't know anything about. 1 of them offers digital products through Clickbank and the other through Myproductcenter.
Just wondering if you know anything about these things.
Thanks.

Rich, I haven't heard of either of those websites, sorry. That doesn't mean they are good or bad though. I didn't hear about WA until 2.5 months ago. I would judge them by their sales page. If they claim that you will "make tons of money in your sleep with no work at all" or something like that I wouldn't trust them. But if they claim that they will explain and show you HOW to make money, then it might be legit. You can posts links here and somebody can look at them if you want more advice.
Also...yeah, I have a dumb username. I just picked a random name when I joined the forum because I didn't plan on staying. But I decided this is a great forum so I decided to stick around...and now I'm stuck with that name, lol.

Well the reason I asked about them is the first one....yourbizwebsite.com is the site I got routed to for my "turnkey" website from Duvet Dollars. The other one, Myproductcenter.com is the site I got routed to after (dare I admit it....) fell for something that I think is probably the exact same type of scam for a turnkey website that will have me making money in no time at all, after buying into "underground cash secret". What can i say...after my first embarrassing scam, I was ripe for the "real deal" and fell for it hook line and sinker....so as far as the sales pages of these "work at home" money making programs, they are quite good (convincing...) but now that I know there is no site, or legitimate opportunity that can make me money the way they claimed, I know what to look for now. I realize I don't need an opportunity...I need an education so feel that I will be eventually signing on with WA.
Is Keyword Elite software offered as part of the membership with WA?

Hey Rich,
Unfortunately, as you found out, the main "opportunity" you find with many "get rich quick" programs is that they only real "opportunity" they give you is to waste your money. WA in contrast, DOES give you an education - if there was a course at a college or university about how to make money online, it would include everything that is offered to you at WA.
To answer your question, Keyword Elite is not offered with your WA membership, but at this state of the game, you really don't need anything like Keyword Elite - what is more important is learning the proper fundamentals of what it takes to make money online. Having said that, WA does come with a pretty cool keyword tool that you can use to find keywords for the campaigns you put together online to make a profit from.

Rich, you are right again that you need an education and not an "opportunity"...whatever that means anyway, lol. I would never trust something that promises to make you a lot of money instantly. It takes hard work and knowledge to be able to succeed. Surprisingly it doesn't take all that long to learn either.
I compare this to a college curriculum. But instead of taking 15 credit hours you can work at your own pace. Instead of taking half a year to learn the basics, WA gives you the material and lets you work at your own pace. Within the first two months I felt pretty confident about what I was doing.....However, there is ALWAYS more to learn. I participate in several forums to try to learn something new everyday. WA was definitely the starting grounds for me, and I still think it is the best resource available.
One thing I will say though....some of the tools on WA aren't the newest. For example, the keyword tools. There are a few keywords tools available on WA to help with research. It shows various keyword variations and the approximate amount of competition. A nice tool...BUT I recommend something else for keyword research. Google Adwords recently added a new feature to their keyword tool (free to access, by the way) that gives exact numbers for monthly searches and PPC competition for different keywords. It doesn't show "quoted" keyword competition, but I still think this free tool is great. Keyword Elite or similar programs don't come with WA, and I don't know if they actually work...but if they do that would be an awesome tool and I might consider them some day!

LOL, I forgot the real reason I meant to post here. I have some good news. This thread did start as my success story and I want to keep it updated occasionally.
Anyway I have some good news to share. I got my first Clickbank check in the mail today! I've earned money with them already, but didn't qualify for my first pay period because of the Paypal limitation. So the next pay period I made more sales and luckily got some of the right type of cards. Apparently it takes 2.5 weeks after a pay period ends before you get your check...but it came today! Yipeee! I've now made a few hundred dollars online with Clickbank and made over a hundred dollars with various other affiliate programs.
Also...not quite as exciting, but I got a mug from EzineArticles! LOL, I know...not a sale or anything, but it felt nice to get something from them. I've written a decent number of articles now and it was nice for them to acknowledge me for it, lol. Anyway, I'm still pretty new to IM, but I feel like I'm moving along fairly nicely. However, school starts next week (I'm a senior in college) and I'm not sure how much time I'll be able to spend on IM since I'll be busy with homework. Oh well...I'll keep working on IM whenever I get the chance. Wish me luck, and good luck to everyone else too!
