Hi. I always hear everyone talking about making their content keyword rich. But what exactly does that mean?

Well in a nut shell it means that the information on your site (content) is speaking about your subject or niche. For instance if youre trying to promote cogs. Your site should have the keyword COGS woven into your content.
When search engines read your page they rank your page based on what your content tells the search engine about itself. So if you have the word cog 1 time....the search engine is probably not going to associate your page with COGS..
Does that make sense?

Hi manudevil,
In a nutshell, it means including a chosen keyword phrase more than once on you page as well as variations of the phrase, parts of the phrase, and relevant keywords.
The trick is to do it so that it doesn't exceed a certain percentage. Opinions vary on this but I try not to exceed 5%. Some say 3% and some say 7%. Furthermore, it should have a naturally occurring feel to your visitors.
You can spend some time browsing this forum as there have been a lot of replies to that question over time. It's something that you have to know well if you intend to do well in online marketing. It's a fundamental concept.

My technique is to not focus on keywords period. All you need to concentrate on is how concise the content of your website is. The end situation is that you'll realize that you have all the right keywords without you knowing it. That's what I experienced when I realized that my site was on the first page of yahoo when a couple search words were used.
I'm no SEO expert. But as a regular marketer I'm pretty happy with the results I have.

You may get lucky and find yourself ranked well for a couple of very long tail specific keywords that way, but it is no way to have success over a wide range of pages.
Knowing what you are doing will be much more to your advantage in the long run.

Quick little tip on SEO for keywords that a lot of people miss out on.
REPLACE common nouns with what you're marketing
Back to cogs:
If your site reads:
Cogs are nice, they are really good for you. Eat them with milk and you'll grow strong, sprinkle sugar on them and they will improve your eyesight.
Try changing it to:
Cogs are nice. It has been show/proven that COGS are good for you. Eating COGS with milk will help you grow strong and sprinkling COGS with sugar is what makes COGS the best thing in the world, this will even improve your eyesight.
Now when spiders are reading through your site instead of seeing COGS just once, they will see it 4 times.
NOW the little rule here is to not over do it and to have it flow. You can't just write. COGS 200 times in a row on your webpage...spiders look for that too and your page will be dismissed.

Glitch,
That's great if you are talking about being happy with income. If you are simply talking about being happy with SERPs placement (high rank on search engine results pages), then I would reconsider.
Happywife is absolutely correct and here is why: You need to have phrases that have demand. In other words, your unknown phrase could land you in the number one spot on Google or Yahoo, but if no one is typing it in a search engine, they'll never see you.
So, you won't get any organic results. You'd have to get traffic in other ways such as creating pages with link backs to the page in question. You can write articles, create a Hub Page, Squidoo lens, pay for PPC traffic and so on.
The only time I would forgo proper on-page SEO is if I absolutely couldn't find an in demand phrase but had to put up some kind of page on the topic. Luckily, I haven't run into that problem as of yet.
Still, I did create a page once that was in the top 3 at Google and I didn't get any traffic for a month. Once I optimized the page, I started getting traffic.
Getting high placement in Google is always fun to see but if no one is searching for that phrase, you won't get any organic traffic from that search engine.
Open: Good Cog example. I like it.
