Day by day there are lots and lots of websites coming in. So how you ll find a website is scam one or a legit. The easy way i have formulated
Eg : You need info about a site called www.abcd.com
Search in google with the keyword "abcd.com scam"
This will list out all the websites discussing about the scam of that particular website... Go and read the issue...
Try about any site and LEARN THE TRUTH FREE OF COST....

Actually, there is a problem with this method, because you often run into people who use the word "scam" on their websites, or in the keywords they use to advertise their websites. At first glance, you may think someone is exposing a scam, but the reality is that in many cases, they are actually promoting a product.
So...if you want to find objective information, you are best off doing a search for the product name followed by the word "forum", which will often lead you to forums where more than one person gives their opinion about the product.
This doesn't mean that you won't find people promoting the product, and just because someone is promoting a product does not make it a scam, but I think it helps to get multiple opinions.
Another thing you can do is check out http://RipOffReport.com - there are a lot of people who will try to warn others about products that have ripped them of - which can really help you avoid getting ripped off by the same program.

I have done the same thing and what is amazing is how many people use those exact same phrases to draw people to THEIR opportunity...
So read carefully as a lot of so-called scam sites are simply people running down one company to promote their own....that is stooping too low for me..
Be upfront and honest about the efforts it will take and the pitfalls you may fall into when starting a home business and you will never have to resort to low tactics like that.

I agree that forums are the BEST way to learn about something. I regularly use some other forums related to my hobbies, and it is amazing that you get tons of people each sharing their own opinions. Everything may not be tidy and organized, but if you do some research in forums you can find lots of views and information. This is actually why I found this forum when I was looking for information about online surveys.

I agree with fatman, they best way to find out information is to talk to people in forums. I have learned so much form forums. It's nice to be able to search the web for information but I find I learn more from first hand experiences through people on forums than web.

SHHhhhhhhhh you guys are giving away my secrets
I have used the method of placing the word SCAM in my title for articles before and it really does work. Review: Is GDI A SCAM? Is one example of this. I do this for a number of reasons. 1. Prior to my doing this, the actual sites that came up were scam sites trying to get people to join their programs and completely bashing GDI. 2. I know GDI is not a scam and would rather people learn the many great things GDI can bring.
Now that I've been made to feel guilty I'll have to pull my article down
Do be careful though in searching other programs by using "scam" as a key word sometimes the folks giving you the information are the scammers. I would definitely try ripoffreport.com and the forum was a great suggestion.
The #1 way to determine if a site is a scam or not: Ask on this forum. Simple as that.

Sometimes the scams are actually operating illegally like autosurf programs http://www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/autosurf.htm
A certain popular autosurf that was shut down because people labeled it a scam, YET there are others that are popular like Madpopz that is still operating , it begs the question why? Why are some autosurfs shut down and some stay open?? IF they are all scams???????
There is a popular travel MLM that is a ponzi yet it is allowed to stay open and operate. Again is a ponzi a scam ...ahhh yeh in the true sense of the word!!
the word "scam" is an innocent sounding word yet when people join them and lose money they cant afford to than why arent they ALL shut down???
Thank goodness the company I represent is neither an MLM or a scam!!!

Thank you for all the info on scams. There are so many scams out there today, before you know it.......YOU'VE BEEN SCAMMED!! Who hasn't though, right? I fell victim to a few, i might add! It's such a shame that it's come to this, what you have to go through to find out if a company is legit. It just amazes me how people can stick their hands in other peoples pockets, and look at themselves in the mirror everyday.
I will definitely be putting the "ripoffreport" to good use!

There are some places online that try and make a "database" of sorts, but sometimes they are hard to keep updating as well. I have seen a couple that work okay but not many that I would 100% trust.

You know, if you could find a way to find websites that are NOT scams, then you would really have something valuable...

You should be careful when taking advice from others about who is a scam and who isn't. I don't care how good a product or service is there will always be a few people who didn't put forth any effort and blame it on the product or service.
