Which country or region are you posting from? I live in the USA.

The Poll only allows 10 choices, sorry. If you live some where else, please mention the location.

I wonder if there is a way to edit the poll to show an "other country" option.

pcwork,

You seem surprised. I would assume that it is less than 1%. What part of Asia are you from? Do you speak more than two languages fluently?

Here is the approximate breakdown on Visitors by Country:

United States 66.3%
Australia 6.6%
Great Britain (UK) 5.8%
India 4.6%
Canada 4.6%
South Africa 1.5%
Other 10.6%

Homejames: The poll was designed to discover where members are currently posting from rather than genealogy :)

Hi alexa,

Just an FYI: Not all of Scandinavia is part of the the European Union.

Norway isn't.

Scandinavian culture is quite distinct from European culture. Furthermore, it's north of Europe. It's a bit cold for my blood though the inhabitants have a tendency to be quite friendly

Welcome to the forum.

Hi, thank you, Newbie Shield. Yes, I understand that, being European myself. It had not occurred to me that when someone said "Europe" they might mean "an EU country": that "definition" would exclude rather a lot of countries, including for example Switzerland, whose entire citizenry would be absolutely mortified (and rightly) if you told them they're not part of Europe!!

(For the record, although Norway isn't technically a full member of the EU, it's signed and ratified the major treaties involved, including "EFTA free trade", and has opted into most of the singificant EU projects anyway.)
