The big thing is getting the proper education in internet marketing, and being willing to put a lot of time and effort into doing what it takes to suceed. If he can get the right education in internet marketing, and is willing to work hard at what he does, then I'd say the chances that he'll succeed are pretty good.

Hey
getagrip is correct. Education is absolute KEY. The more educated you get and you pput the knowledge to action, the more valuable you will become to your prospects (Target Market).
A huge amount of dedication is needed though, its like anything in life, for great things to happen, you need to pay the price. Desire, belief, action, on a consistent basis, action, action and more action.
Choose what you would like to have a go at, and learn as much as you can, and action it. And surround yourself with likeminded people along the way, this is very important.
Start off by reading Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill. This book was what changed everything for me. . You can have all the great systems and tools in the world, but if your mindset is not in harmony with achieving success, then you're going to have a hard time. Mindset is 80%, the rest is 20%...
To your huge success my friend
Kiran

Here here getagrip. You are absolutely correct. The real key is knowledge! I've spent literally thousands of hours reseaching ways and programs to become successful with the internet and that knowledge grows each and every day. That is what you need to advise your friend of Samuel. Nothing will happen right away without this knowledge. However, if he is persistent enough in his quest and believes enough in himself and the business that he chooses, good things will happen. Good luck!

Hey Newbie Shield,
I like the creativity and humor in the presentation of your response, as well as the subliminal alternate message: Develop a formula and replicate it.
Clever!

The easiest way to become a successful businessperson is to find someone witht the skill set that you need and learn from them anyway you can. Pick a good mentor(s).
I started my offline business 5 years ago. Everyone tried to give me advice. I got advice from everyone about their business from 1980 and such. How they owned a lemonade stand when they were six.
My point is pick someone to be your mentor or teacher that is still relevant. Someone who owns a business in the same industry and who earns what you want to earn.
Thats how I turned a $500,000 business into a $1.5 million dollar business in 3 years. I glued myself to others that were already doing that. No mystery here. Just found out what worked and put my own spin on it.
Thats what I am currently doing with my online business. Finding others who have the skill sets I need and learning everything I can. Thats how you become a successful business person.

Thank you.
I never say stuff like that to pat myself on the back. If I can help one person stay focused and make some good money, it makes my day.
I think most of the priciples that apply to brick and mortar can be found with online businesses. Except wth most online businesses we have to overcome the negative stigma that comes with the territory.
Thats the major difference I see.
And when I was talking about mentors it doesnt have to be someone you even have a conversation with. From reading e-books and forum posts you can gain some valuable information. And its all FREE!!!!!!!
You cannot skip the building blocks and try to buy success at any business. I know you, NewbieShield, have expressed this many times and I couldnt agree more.

Yep, it takes alot of time and work just like anything. And having the realization that Internet Marketing will sometimesl be tedious and not very exciting. Matter of fact sometimes boring. Just know that you must learn to embrace this and do the little things day in and day out to be successful. IMHO

Great advice here - lots of it.
A great support and training group will be huge to his success if he is new to the industry... I have been involved in direct sales models where it is possible to replace your income in a few short months...and I have also done more traditional network marketing where it will take more time to build it up...
Both have different advantages and I know there are many more ways to create additional income represented throughout this forum - and regardess what he does - I would recommend keeping his job till he gets something built up to replace it... less stress that way!

Hi there
I am new in the indusrty too (and this forum, so halloo!!) I ams till working full time whilst getting my internet business up and running. I have a two year old daughter also so as you can imagine life is pretty busy right now, but I know it will alol be worth it in the end. I would advise your friend not to quit his job until his online business is well established and he is bringing in a regular income from it. Ok so this may mean a few late nights, lots of hard work and effort but hopefully it will all pay off
Sorry, not very groundbreaking advice but sometimes the best advice is the simplest.
J xx
