Hi, I am new here and I think this site is great! So far the best one I've seen and so many are helpful and sharing.
I have some questions regarding Affiliate programs which interests me alot. I think I want to start with that to earn much needed money.
First, Do any of the affiliate programs have a 'downline' ?
2). Can you be an affiliate with more than one program?
3).What are the usual rules ( do's and don'ts ) ?
4). Is there any outlay of money to be successful?
5.) How can you be an Ebay or Amazon affiliate?
6). Does anyone have any information on health care for self-employed?
7). I'm still trying to get familiar with blogging techniques so I am wondering once you write your blog, where do you usually park it?
8) Any suggestions or tips on first signing up with an affiliate program?
9). Do any of you use a keyword search software?
I'm sorry to say that those are all of the questions I have at this time (  I didn't really want to bog ppl down with so many questions and I appologize but I needed these to help me decide and to just come out with it.
I sincerly appreciate any help with these or any advice you may give. Thanks a bunch!

I will try to answer your questions. =)

Yes, most of them will have a network system which allows you to earn not only from your own sales but also effort from your network.
2). Can you be an affiliate with more than one program?
Yes, you can but it is not recommended to split your focus. You can joined lots of them but will end up frustrated because there's too much things to do.
3).What are the usual rules ( do's and don'ts ) ?
It depends on the system that you will be joining. Simple things like spam mail, promoting website links on other people's blogs, etc are common sense, they are not allowed. One thing about affiliate marketing is that there will always be somebody before you, so you don't have to reinvent the wheels.
4). Is there any outlay of money to be successful?
It depends as well on the program you choose. Some of them will require you to invest quite a sum of money first before you can start earning.
5.) How can you be an Ebay or Amazon affiliate?
You can check out their websites, both of them provide very good guidance and tips for starting out. Don't mind me repeating again, keep your focus on one thing at a time. If not, it's easy to get distracted when surfing around.
6). Does anyone have any information on health care for self-employed?
I'm not into health care so I'll skip this.

There are some websites that teach you lots of good information about blogging techniques. There are some courses and free ebooks you can look for as well. Some of them are really great, some of them are just repeated information. You can start a blog with blogger or wordpress.
8) Any suggestions or tips on first signing up with an affiliate program?
Check out the variety of products, the support they are giving, the tips and guides, ask from people who are already in it and have done it, always get to know more first, don't feel obliged to join until you've given serious thoughts.
9). Do any of you use a keyword search software?

You raise some great questions about affiliate programs.
But, I'd like you to think a little more broadly about Internet marketing.
Getting involved in an affiliate program is a good way to make some money. You can sell one or more products, sometimes even build a downline. And, some programs provide for residual income.
But, as you drive traffic to your sites, most people are not yet ready to buy or commit to a particular program. Conversion rates are often less than 1%--sometimes much less.
You need to think about what every Internet "guru" does. And that's building your own mailing list.
Remember, if someone signs up for more information at your affiliate site--they join your affiliate's list, not your's.
The key is to drive traffic to your own capture page(s) and then direct them to an affiliate site. This is the key to greater wealth.

I'll pipe in on the "keyword search software" question, though as I'm very familiar with them.
A couple of very good tools that you can use:
The SEO for Firefox plugin:

Which, if you have it installed & running basically provides you direct links to several different keyword research services.
Also, I would suggest Wordtracker's free keyword tool suggestion:
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com
Wordtracker is considered one of the more/most reliable keyword research services that you can use... and the above link gives you a bit of info for free.

Hi again and thanks so much for your reply. Your advice is very good and I will check out all my options before I jump in.
johntanyishin, thank you for taking the time to answer each question. That means alot to me. I know it must have taken some time to respond to all of them. Also, thank you for the link!
HiAchiever, Your name tells me that you are successful at internet marketing??  You must have been at this for a long time and are wise to all this stuff. Pardon my ignorance but your last sentence has me a bit confused. Could I ask that you give me some details? Also, how does one build a 'list' ?
Well just when I thought I had all the questions asked I came across another one if anyone care to reply?
Earning my money from affiliate programs, paid to post or whatever it may be, do I need to declare it as a 'business' ? Do you pay taxes on your earnings?
Just looking at all aspects. I fiqure I will be earning an income even if its a passive income to start and it would be nice to have some write off expenses. What are your thoughts and advice? I currently work a full time day job that doesn't pay very much and I feeling the pinch if you can relate to that.

There is a program called NASE that stands for the National Association of the (or maybe it is "for the") Self Employed that does seem to have some healh insurance plans that might be within the range of many people who are just starting out.
They set me up with a plan that I have liked so far. It has a high deductible (which I wanted), but it also has an amount that is set aside each quarter that takes care of routine office visits without co-pays before cutting into the deductible. I like it so far.

A: You have the option of setting up a business structure - Proprietorship, Partnership, Corporation, or Limited Liability Corporation (LLC). This way you can take advantage of the legal benefits and protections that are available.
Q: Do you pay taxes on your earnings?
A: Whether or not you do business as an individual or use a structured legal entity, you are liable for taxes on your earnings.

If you get caught for not paying taxes you could go to jail. I don't think I want to chance that.

Sonni, Gotcha! Jail? no way, I pay my taxes. Unfortunetly I just paid over 1,000.00. That hurt real bad but its better than jail !
