I'm having trouble creating a clickable link in an email. I've followed the html for it, but that's exactly what I see in the email is the code.
If anyone could give me a pointer, it would be greatly appreciated.

You need to provide more details.
Are you using gmail, hotmail, yahoo?
What code did you use?

I'm just using AOL. It's just a plain email with a link in it.

Simapr,
Simply type, or copy & paste the URL directly into the body of the email. AOL will convert it to a hyperlink.
Example: http://www.google.com
Send an email to yourself as a test!

Thank Hermas I can't read your mind but I guess it must be about my fascination to Google, right?
I had to edit the link as I didn't want to fool the spiders.
