I do not know a whole lot, but I will help with what I can. You can start by making clickable links in your signature. also you can use keywords in your signature and make them clickable as well. The Search Engines like those. People generally do not like to copy and paste to go to a website. I would think that going to forums that are in the same genre as your forum and having a good signature would help. Just do not blatantly promote your forum while on those. Just post like everyone else does on those sites.

Your site looks pretty nice. I do not know how long you have had it up, but it seems to be fairly active for a new forum.

Hope that helps some.

Hold a contest for members who make the most interesting posts, it will help initially

What I'd suggest doing is start writing articles about soccer and then submitting them to Ezines like Ezinearticles.com and Goarticles.com. You can use a resource box to direct visitors back to your forum.

You can also create a Squidoo.com lens or Hubpages, and link to your forum via these resources as well. One tip on Squidoo - when you create your lenses, it is best to NOT include any outgoing links - wait a day or two until the lens gets indexed and then edit the lens to include a link to your forum. Sounds a bit odd, but sometimes Google will index you a lot faster if you don't include any outbound links.

getagrip,

The outbound links you speak of are actually affiliate links. Those are the ones to avoid at first in regards to not only getting indexed faster, but getting indexed higher as well.

You might also avoid linking to questionable or non-authority sites at first.

Relevant outbound links to authority sites such as Wikipedia actually help to get indexed faster.

The SE algorithms are coded to punish those who would toss up a quick site with the primary intention of making a quick buck. They are flagged as low quality sites that offer little or no value to surfers. Thinking like an SE algo is often helpful in avoiding pitfalls.

Hi Mountain,

Hey, no prob. Let me know if you need any tips with your lenses.

It's great to have you around. You're always so friendly and helpful. You include everyone in your conversations. You're a valuable forum member.

I bet the weather is perfect up in the mountains this time of year. Do much hiking or mountain biking?

Aww - thanks but right back atcha...

I have to admit, I am rather addicted to this forum. It feels more like 'home' than some others I have visited.

Yes, the weather is nice and warm, finally and our nights are crisp and fresh.... I am not a biker but we do love camping, hiking, and hunting - those kinds of things.

Am in the middle of moving right now as we are moving closer to town. We have been here for about 7 years... and love the wildlife, and quietness of the mountains but 30 miles is a long way to go for gas when it is over 4 bucks a gallon!

So it's time to pick up and get closer to civilization again, but am so glad when we are all settled in so I can get back to putzing around online more.
