From my experiences, there are three ways to make money online that seem popular (although there are many more opportunities available):
1. Surveys- There are free sites and ones where you pay to join. You need to be careful and only join legit sites, because I have been spammed by many and it's not pretty. Sometimes I get 100 spam emails a day just from joining different sites. I'm still searching for some good paying sites, but many here claim to have found gold.
2. Freelance writing- Associated Content and elance seem to be the most popular choices, though there are others too. This can be fun if you enjoy writing. You get paid for each article you write. Some people enjoy this, but others don't feel that the pay is good enough to warrant doing this.
3. Affiliate Marketing- After trying various ways to make money, I finally stumbled across this and am trying to spend as much of my time doing it as possible. If you use blogs or have your own site, this will be especially easy. I highly recommend Wealthy Affiliate, but others are happy with other sites as well. Although you can spend as much or as little time as you want doing this, it can be a little difficult (at the beginning), so I would only do this option if you have a little more spare time, ie. at least an hour a day.
I know all this has pretty much been stated in the forum before. I just wanted to share my personal thoughts and experiences with different methods online. You can try out any of these and make some extra money for your family. Good luck to everyone!

I think I can sum it up like this:
1) you will not get rich overnight
2) It will take some effort on your part to make any money
3) money can be made
I think that sums it up quite well.

Working from home is easy when you know the key to what makes it tick. Most people concentrate on marketing and sales. Every one tries to do that. Something (such as marketing and sales,) which is a natural progression to a sale is taken for granted by many entrepreneurs and they attempt this in fits and bursts.
What is more important is relationship building. Unless you are practicing this form of engagement, success for the most part will be hard to achieve.
I make over 100k per year pretty much effortlessly strictly via relationship building. It takes a while. But then, what is worth something which happens in an instant?

Try the free classified sites to help with your business:
Craigslist.com Backpage.com Kijiji.com
These are the top 3 as far as traffic. Do not post more than 3 ads on each of these per 48 hours, or you may get blocked, or "ghosted."
Hope this helps!

Making money from home is easy, but it takes time, effort, and belief to make it work. It also helps if you have a great mentor, someone who will take the time to teach and train you on what to do. If you look at it like a business and treat it as such, you'll be successful. If you look at it like a get rich tool, then you won't make it and will be upset. There are several ways to make money, you just need to pick one and focus on getting good and then diversify. The main things you'll need to use to advertise for FREE are classifieds, safelists, forums, video, and artcles. I teach and mentor people to help them make money from home all the time, and these are the methods I use. Take care and God Bless Jason 636-465-2390

If you have a bit of your own money to invest (in yourself, not for a subscription) then you should look at sports arbitrage, betting on all outcomes of a sporting event to guarantee a small percentage return. It's not get rich quick but is a viable method of getting a better return on your money than the stock market. Returns of 25-50% a year are easily achievable.......outperforming almost all funds with less risk. Sports Arbitrage Guide is a good introduction to this opportunity and offers impartial advice across the whole spectrum.

Generally speaking, the links (double lined) in the actual posts (the paragraphs) are ads (similar to the Google ads). If you look under the line (below) you will see people's signature links.
Hope that clarifies things for you.

I work with vipdesk.com and love it. If anyone is interested you can try them. Took me about a month and a half to hear back from them after I applied.

There is really no such thing a "Get Rich Quick" program. Anyone claiming that should really be charged.
Instead of claiming that you could make $1000's "Right Now" marketers should inform you that that can only happen if you have the skills that they themselves have equipped themselves with over a numbers of years.
Training is key to your success. Start learning right now from helpful, concise and comprehensive training specialists.
Cheers for now and all the Best to you and your family.

I would stay away from workhomenow.com. It looks like all they want is your address for marketing purposes. There are many sites like this that offer hope in exchange for your personal information. Notice they do not offer any details about what the business opportunities are on their page. Also, their privacy policy clearly states that they intend to share your information will all of their marketing partners.
It is extremely important to always read privacy policies when checking out a new potential opportunity.
If a site does not tell me specific details about the offer, I never provide any personal information.
Cheers

Hi Ty,
Welcome to the forum. There's really not much you can do with no money up front apart from a bit of affiliate marketing by writing articles, posting in forums, etc. Even then, though, you usually have to invest a little in some decent training.
You can start by reading some of the free ebooks and resources available that will help you get an understanding of general marketing techniques. There are a few in my signature below to get you going. They were a big help to me when I was getting started. Help yourself.
Ultimately, if you want to build a long term serious online business that you can work on from home, you're probably going to want to build a website based on a particular niche topic - something that you enjoy or are highly interested in.
I've used SBI to build my sites. It was a real blessing since I had no prior experience and needed something that was seriously "dumbed down" to my level.
You should consider something like that if you want to be successful the first time around.
No matter what you choose to do, be aware that it is going to take some time to start making some steady income. Very few people make decent money until they've been at it for several months and build a decent foundation. If you can put in the time and effort and hang in there, you can do quite well.
All the best to you and your wife. I hope you find something that suits as soon as possible. If you have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Blessings, Angie

Hi Diana,
There is a lot to learn, and it is overwhelming. You are right about that. Working at home usually doesn't start out with steady income. Most people working at home are building their own business whether online or offline. Either way, you have to start with nothing and build.
The other option is to get a work at home 'job.' That would be you doing a set amount of work for a set wage. That's a little harder to find. If you are good at bookkeeping or even typing and transcription, you may be able to find some local company that would allow you to work from home doing that kind of work.
Waitressing is hard work. If you are working full time and going to school full time that doesn't leave much left for other things.
If you can manage a couple of hours a day to work on building a home based business online, you could work at it gradually until you were in a place where you could depend upon your online income and give up offline work. It may be that you could have a lovely business built by the time you finish your schooling.
Start by reading as much as you can of the free resources that teach online marketing. There's a few free books and courses available through the link in my signature. Help yourself to them. They should give you enough info. to help you determine if it is something that interests you and would be worth working toward.
If you have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Blessings, Angie

In that case, I would recommend the following quick and easy method to get started making a lil bit of cash...
Sign up as an affiliate for some or other product or service. Just google 'affiliate' and browse for an affiliate program that interests you. There are now countless affiliate programs out there to choose from. Most of them are free to join.
Once you've signed up as somebody's affiliate, they will give you some kind of affiliate link. You need to put that link in front of an audience to get them to click and buy.
There are many free ways to do this, including article marketing, setting up a free blog or squidoo lens where you 'review' the product and include your affiliate link.
The easier option for you, though, would be to join some forums where the subject matter is somehow related to your affiliate product. Make sure the forum allows signatures (check their terms/rules before signing up). Once you've joined a forum, set up a signature that includes your affiliate link. Make sure that your link says something that catches peoples' attention and makes them want to click on it.
DO NOT just slap in your raw affiliate url for the world to see (i.e. http://www.blech.affiliate.whatever....) You'll be the laughing stock of the forum and you'll look desperate, then nobody will click on your link.
This can all be set up in minutes, then start contributing posts to the forum. Make sure they are useful and add value. DO NOT spam the forum with useless posts designed purely to put your link in peoples' faces, it will be obvious and annoying.
Keep posting! Sales will tend to come in spurts. You may go for days or weeks without a sale, then one day you might have 10 sales, so don't give up, it's just the nature of the game.
Persistence pays off!
Good luck.

Steveo72: Plus I have been learning Affiliate Marketing but need something to make me money faster.
Unfortunately, it's usually a slow process. Some people get lucky and find a niche that isn't too over-saturated and are able to start making money more quickly, but for most people it's a building process.
Even if you aren't building your own website, it can still take time to build momentum. After looking over my options I decided to go with the long road of building my own websites. It was a challenge, but one I'm glad I took up. I used SBI (SiteBuildIt) to learn how to build my sites, and I'm quite happy with the program. I think it is the easiest way for a beginner to build a successful website with no 'know-how' to begin with.
Steveo72: I really would like to find something in music or sale products from a website that deal with music or other products. I would love to run a few websites that just generate Money but I just don't know where to start
If music is your passion or something you can really get interested in and excited about, then why wouldn't you go with that? You'll have to narrow it down, of course. What kind of music? What instruments, what genre, etc.? Find a narrower field than "music" and approach it from your own angle or perspective.
Are you more interested in learning to write music, learning to play a certain kind of instrument, learning to sing a particular style??? Do you want to sell your own music or other people's music or both? Ask yourself these types of questions to find your own niche topic.
Of course you'll eventually have to do some research to see if there is any demand for your chosen niche and how much competition you'll face. There is almost always ways to monetize, so don't worry too much about that at first.
Building your own website is not the way to fast money, but it is the way to long term steady income. Think it through, but if you decide to do it, commit to it for the long haul. Otherwise you will just be wasting your time and cluttering up the web with another half completed project. If you stay the course, though, you'll reap the rewards.
karma: . I've started in affiliate marketing. Just waiting for that first sale. Something tells me it ay be a while though, even though im putting in the hours.
You're right. It can take awhile. You may get lucky if you persevere, but it seems like everyone and their brother is promoting a website like the one you are promoting.
Consider that and you know you are going to have a lot harder time snatching some of the sales for yourself. Your site isn't going to get indexed and rank well in the search engines because it is not unique valuable content.
I'm not saying any of the programs you are promoting are bad. I've not used any of them. It just frustrates me so much when I see so many people who are genuinely wanting to build an online business sign up for some program and then get told to promote some 'cookie cutter type' site that is promoting work at home products that they know nothing about and that they haven't used to make money themselves.
You are pretty much being set up for failure. Yes, I promote SBI, but I didn't start promoting it until I used it for myself for about 6 months or so to build a website that was my own unique affiliate business (chocolate-candy-mall.com).
Once I saw that SBI was the real deal and actually worked and I understood and knew how it worked, then I started promoting it. The honest truth is that I would recommend and promote SBI whether they had an affiliate program or not. Sure, I am tickled pink whenever I get a commission, but I am even more happy knowing that the person who signed up to build a site is on the right track and will build themselves a successful business if they just follow the instructions and DO it!
It's very sad that so many people get discouraged and quit when they really could make a go of it if they were just given good information and tools rather than a landing page that mirrors 10,000 or so other landing pages.
Good heavens! I just realized I was standing on top of a soap box! Sorry. I just had to get that said. I'm climbing down now.
Steveo72: Does anyone here have any ideas where i could start
Start by choosing a subject you enjoy and learning how to build a quality unique website based on proper keyword research that ranks well in the search engines and brings in free targeted traffic.
There are free ebooks and courses you can read first, but if you want to jump into the deep end, (dare I say it?) start with SBI.
Blessings to you both, Angie
