Hi everyone. I absolutely love looking through the forums, and reading everyones success stories and what not.
A little about me...Im currently attending the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I personally really want to start making money online. But i have no idea where to begin. I see that plenty of you started with a website(blog) and used adsense. I dont know exactly how to do this. I dont have any sort of web design backround, so I wouldnt be able to make my own site, but what are some of the best website builders that you would recomend for a newbie like myself.
Any sort of help and information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums, tactishian, You will get different opinions here but if you want to get thru your learning curve fairly quickly in building a webiste and using adsense, I would suggest SBI....
Happywife will probably be around shortly with advice on that - she is the expert around here for SBI
Good luck and have fun with it all!

Welcome!
Making money online is a pretty general goal.
I would suggest that you do a little brainstorming and see if there is something that you really enjoy or that you have a passion about and consider using these ideas as a doorway to selling on the internet.
Many people begin by trying to sell and market something that they are familiar with. If this does not get you going in the right direction, the information, advice and opportunities in this forum are a great launching pad.
Good luck, John

Well, you could always get someone to make your websites for you. You can find people at Elance or Sitepoint, or just google it, there are plenty of freelance web design sites around.
Of course, that will cost you a bit, but it will help you out in the beginning. However, I would strongly encourage you to take a bit of time and gradually learn HTML. There are tons of great websites that explain it to you quite easily. Google is your friend.
If you know HTML, you'll be able to make your own changes to the web pages that you've paid someone else to create, and eventually you may even have the skill to make your OWN basic web pages, thereby saving you a lot of money.

Hmmm. I started article marketing because I was flat broke and it is free to start up. I still love it.

Hey, welcome, I'm new to this forum, but not new to the web! I was on the web back in the '90s when it was still brand new. Developed websites and design, and several successful businesses. Sold my business and got off for a few years. Last summer I got back on to develop a new business online. Boy! Was I in for a shock... so much had changed and so much to learn!! I spent last year and the first part of this year just reading, learning, researching, experimenting, etc. There are a gazillion ways to market from adwords and article submission to Web 2.0... Finally, I've found my groove, but not after spending tons of money, and valuable time. There is a lot of good info out there, just be careful you don't get scammed or taken advantage of. To start, DON'T tell anyone you are new or they will pounce you like a starving lion! Best wishes in all you do! blessings, Lauren

This forum will be a big help to you. Many people start an affiliate marketing business because it is free to start and you do not need a product of your own. Google Adsense and Amazon.com have affiliate programs. So does Clickbank.com and selling information is a good way to make money online for a number of reasons.

There are some places that you can get free websites like weebly.com That one seems really good to start. Some affiliate programs give you a free website with no investment. There are alot of different ways but it kind of depends on what you are looking for.

tactishian,
There are many website builders that are entirely free, other quality ones that cost a little, but you don't need to know any .html, you just write your content or articles in NotePad or something and it builds you entire site for you.
SBI is OK, but it is very expensive these days and once you build the site with them you lock yourselve into continuing to pay them their annual fee, unless you have become really knowledgeable with .html and can move the site to your own host.

You could look at bluevoda. Don't know much about it myself but it's free. Google it.

Hi, I would definitely recommend using a blog as the quickest and easiest way to get set up online with your first site. In particular Blogger is dead easy to set up and has an option in the settings section to sign up for and automatically set up adsense on the site. You do not need to know any html for blogger and you just use their standard templates which set up everything for you. Best of all it is provided by Google so the blog starts to get ranked within a few weeks.
