You can use a tool called SEOBook to research keywords and optimize your content. It will show you how many people search for the keywords each month. This will help you to get #'s like those you posted, and when you know what people are searching for, you will know the best ways to get your content to your target market. Knowing your target market is probably rule #1 so that you will know which keywords to research.

Lycos is also a good one I sometimes checkout to see what people are searching for.
Oh, have you tried Dogpile? You can see in realtime what people are searching for. (WARNING: can get explicit!)

Can you make money online for free? ABSOLUTELY! That is, if you know how. If you don't know how, then you're probably going to have to pony up a bit for some solid instructional material. That's what I did.
Now that I know what I know I could certainly start making money online for free. But if I would have tried before I knew anything, I wouldn't have made any money. Back then, I had never even heard of Squidoo.
I think at the bare minimum you need to have your own web hosting account somewhere, preferably one that allows you to have unlimited domains, as you will need to be creating a web presence and work on driving traffic to it. But heck, I guess you could just make free Squidoo lenses and Hubpages and work on driving traffic to those. That would probably work too.
So the answer to your original question is absolutely without a doubt, YES, you CAN make money online for free. But a little guidance certainly helps.

Yes and I consider making money for free to be a very important part of making money online. Use web 2.0 platforms, article sites, directories, etc.
Once you feel you know the free tools and methods well, add self-hosting and paid tools to the mix to bring it to a much higher level.
Both methods should be used for all web projects.

You can make money online for free if you are willing to invest time and develop skills.
You can fill out surveys and make a little money, even a few hundred dollars a month and you do not need a website for that.
You can write articles and submit them to places like AsssociatedContent.com and make money.
We pay one of our writers almost $1K a month and she does not need a website to write for us.
You can start a free blog at Blogger.com and sell affiliate products on it and both are free to start. You will have to work at getting traffic and even that can be free if you learn how to do it.
The internet is the great equalizer in that what you lack in money you cna mkae up for by investing time!

I am sure you can make money online in this world. But not for free. You have to invest time, hardwork, knowledge and some money in the beginning. Apart from this you have to wait for some time.

You can make money online for free. You just have to have the right program. But to make enough money to stay at home and not have a job that's different. You need to start off small and work you way up eventually into a higher program you are passionate about. You have to do something you love. Also, you must have an education in what you do. You must learn how to market and that costs money. So, sure you can make some money online, but the real question is how much?
