Hello everyone! My name is Tania and Im very interested in starting to work from home. Im currently working 50-60hrs a week and do not have a whole lot of time to put into a work from home buisness. Im wondering if there is anything out there that I can start and that also fits into my busy work schedule. All advice is greatly appreciated and I can't wait to get started so I don't have to work those 50 hr work weeks anymore!

Hi Tania,
Unfortunately there is no quick, fullproof way of working online and making enough money to retire ina year...I know, I know, I was just as sad to hear that too...BUT that doesn't mean that you can't start working now and in some time be ready tell your boss where he can go.
That being said, if you are really interested in starting something online with limited read around the forum as there are many programs out there that offer low to no startup costs and they are things that can be built over time, in the end that's probably your best bet...building something over time.

Congrats Tania - you are on the right track. 
We have had people get started and worked their business consistently for 8-10 hrs a week till they could replace their income - but it takes consistency, motivation and a strong desire to achieve those goals!

Just by looking at this forum and taking action, you are a step ahead of most people. It sounds like you are ready for a move.

Im well aware that Im not going to become rich over night. Im just looking for something that will fit into my schedule right now without a huge start up cost. A work from home job might be a good solution for me right now. Any ideas?

I second what Mountainmom said....you can definitely start a home based business and work p/t hours per week and if done consistently and with a strong desire, you'll see your efforts pay off rather quickly.
I also agree that article marketing is the way to go when looking to advertise for FREE. It's a very powerful method when done correctly.

Welcome to the forum. There are many online businesses that fit your criteria. You just have to be dilligent about finding one and doing the appropriate research. A good place to start is clicking the links in the signature line of posters to this forum.

Hi Tania,
Yes, read the forum threads for a few days. Then you'll have an idea of what is involved in online marketing. You'll also discover which programs are popular around here.
After that you can ask questions and have an even better idea of what you'd like to pursue.
One thing I can tell you for certain is that once you've identified the components, you'll have to spend several months on the education side of things - learning quite a bit about each component.
You may end up buying one of the popular programs or memberships to learn more. Then you can plan your approach. Last comes experimentation and then making money.
You'll gain the knowledge, you'll plan, you'll experiment, then you'll be able to start creating self-hosted sites to make significant money.
Think long term. Nothing else will work.

Ditto about the article marketing, although writing articles is not everybody's cup of tea, so you might want to also try paid surveys, although don't expect much more than pocket money from those, and they don't have the long-term potential that a website has.
If I were you, I'd start learning a bit about HTML right now and eventually get to the point where you can have your own niche website. That's an investment of very little that can potentially reap big long-term rewards. You can hire someone to make a website for you at Elance, for example, but it will help you to know a lil bit about the HTML in the background, because you'll want to make your own changes every now and then without paying a small fortune each time.
You might also try Squidoo, where you can make your own 'lenses' for free, then monetize them or sell them for profit. Lenses are very easy to make and you can get away with not knowing HTML because Squidoo provides you with the tools to make a lens.

This forum is a great source of information. The advice is sound and varied.
I agree with the comments above. It does take time, but it is well worth it.
The one piece of advice I can offer is to make sure that you choose something that you truly enjoy. You are already spending 50 to 60 hours a week at a job that has caused you to look elsewhere for income. You don't want to choose a home business just for the money and find out that you hate it. Then you've succeeded in bringing a "job" home.
Take your time, investigate various opportunities and make sure it is something that you get excited about. Something that you can't wait to get off from work so that you can work on your own business. That excitement will carry you through the rough times.

I think you'd want to start a business rather than trying to find a job that supplements or even replaces your current one. Doing that could find you in the same situation, just at home all day.
You'll hear a lot of good (and some not as good) advice here. I'll put in mine and let you make of it what you will.
In your situation, what I would do is pick a niche. Pick something you're interested in - whether it's pitbulls or faberge eggs - doesn't really matter. Next get yourself a dotcom domain. You'll want a website of your own eventually whatever you want to do.
There are only 2 skills you'll need to learn to start a business: effective writing and traffic generation. Don't waste your time trying to learn everything about the internet before you start because you'll never learn everything. You could spend the rest of your life trying to keep up with the changes.
Someone above said to look at peoples sigs here on the forum, that's a good way to expose yourself to different ways of making money. It'll probably piss people off, but I wouldn't recommend spending money on anything you find there, not until you know more.
Search here and elsewhere to get a basic understanding about how affiliate marketing works. Learn about article marketing - go to http://bummarketingmethod.com/ - this is where a lot of people get their first introduction to the subject.
Set up a simple website and start your article marketing campaign. Don't expect monster returns immediately. Most affiliate products have somewhere from 1% to 3% conversion ratio. In other words: if you're unlucky, you could get a couple hundred visitors to your website before you make a penny. Take that with a grain of salt, it could work the opposite and you could make a sale with your very first website visitor, but it's not likely.
From your articles, you can expect a handful (5-20 until you really get the feel for article writing) of visitors to your website each week for each article you submit to the article directories.
Over the course of a few weeks be consistent. Submit articles regularly to increase that traffic.
When you are making money, then you can look at the situation and decide if you want to invest some of your profits in either expanding your knowledge base, getting tools to make you more productive, or investing in other business avenues.

That is very true. Without those KEY aspects, you will not be motivated and strong enough to continue working consistently on your home business to see those results you desire.
Tania, welcome to the industry. You should understand that you can not create wealth and success over night, in case that was what you were expecting from joining the home based business industry.
My best suggestion for getting started in the home based business industry is to take the time to search the Internet for a mentor, someone who has already experienced that success and is willing to take you under their wing to teach you how to establish your own online business and most importantly, how to market your online business effectively on the Internet.
There is a lot of people that do take action and have the correct mindset but they simply lack the information and knowledge sources to learn from when starting their own home business and this usually results in failure.
Start networking with successful people and their influences will passed onto you where you in time will become successful with achieving your goals.

There are a lot of great opportunities out there but you need to do the research. For some, you can pump a lot of money into them and not see anything in return. Make sure the company has a solid reputation, a strong product, a great compensation plan and most importantly a strong mentor. I searched for a long time and found a great opportunity of which I'm very happy with. If you would like more info on it, just let me know.
