Hi guys , i just wanted to bring this to your notice.. recently i received emails which were addressed as paypal emails but BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE .. they are NOT PAYPAL EMAILS .. but they are some fraud doing this to steal your identity.. you will be told you need to comfrim your account failing which your paypal account will be terminated but never go on thier link or sign up from their link .. its a FAKE PAYPAL WEBSITE
its looks very real .. i mean many of you guys wont be able to diffrentiate between the real and fake .. to all those who dont know ill tell you how ...
*Always look for the link in the address bar once you have clicked the link.. the address should start with "HTTPS" and not "HTTP without the 'S'" ..S stands for secured site ..and sites like paypal are secured.
* look out for the LOCK SIGN below ..next to your download bar !!it suggest this site is secured.. which you wont find in fake sites !!
* paypal will never ask you to log in or will never address you with anything else but you FULL NAME. fake emails do just the opposite.
* Also paypal willnever ask for credit card details befo or in your sign up form .. these fake sites DO.
be a smart member and look out for these signs ..and if you get such mails you can forward it to "[email protected]"
also if you wanna know something more about fishy emails .. go to paypal and Take their Fight Phishing Challenge at https://www.paypal.com/fightphishing
to learn 5 things you should know about phishing. You'll also see what they're doing to help fight fraud every day.
but NOT what i just told you guys in the pointers .. this is from my personal knowledge which i felt i should share with you guys ...
Anyways i hope i have been of some help before you come across such emails or websites ...
HERE IS THE EMAIL I RECEIVED !!! ITS A FAKE EMAIL =

GREAT ADVICE!! Thanks for sharing this very important reminder about keeping your accounts safe.
I am embarrassed to admit that I fell for this scam a few years ago and it caused so many problems on so many levels of my life that I can't even begin to describe the stress I went through trying to prove my identity to PayPal. Someone got my bank account number and used it to open their own PayPal account. It was a nightmare that took several months to resolve.

I had a friend fall for this as well. It was a big financial nightmare for them to clear it all up.
I get several emails a day, forward them to [email protected] and they send back an email confirming that it is indeed a phishing email.
I agree the email looks certainly "official", it's flat out scary.

Thank you for the information.
Unfortunately, Paypal and Ebay are not the only sites that are being victimized.
I receive at least one or two emails a month from banks, credit unions and other similar "fake" financial sites. They are all after the same thing, personal information.
One has to use extreme caution on the "information highway" to avoid becoming a victim. Educate yourself and be cautious!

Also be on lookout for fake yahoo account emails.I luckily contacted yahoo before responding to the email and what you also can do is hit the "full headers" button on the email and there you can see better the true source of the email.

I't sad that the powers-that-be seem to be powerless to do anything about stuff like this... or all the money-making scams out there either. They could do something but don't - strange isn't it?
