I know it can be overwhelming to look at so much stuff and it seems like there are more opportunities added to the internet every day!
They all vary somewhat and yet there is a common thread that runs throughout the whole - it takes determination and motivation to make any business work!
It takes the same amount of effort to market a $19.95 , $39 , $300 or $3000 product. It costs the same to market it, takes the same amount of effort, and the same amount of determination to stick with it till you become successful and good at it
But once that happens - and for some it happens very quickly, others - it takes longer - it is something that can last a lifetime and change your lifestyle!

If you believe in what you sell, it makes things easier.

I believe NO ONE can succeed alone. You need a good team working together. For the average person to make a consistant decent paycheck each month they must see results within the first month or they start losing interest.
Find a good team that is willing to share ideas with you without asking for anything in return. That will be the hardest part to the whole equation.
Tadej was right.. You have to be believe in what your selling and be able to transfer that enthusiasm to other people. Never beg anyone. If they don't want what you have, you move on to the next.

In some cases it does take the same amount of effort to market a lower cost program as it does a higher ticket program....HOWEVER, the conversion ratio is the difference. A great lower cost program that can produce a higher conversion rate will win out. More importantly, a lower cost program that has the ability to appeal to the masses around the globe will create longer term success for many more people than high ticket programs, where people keep failing and losing money.
There are soo many opportunities out there, avoid jumping all around the world wide web until you have a firm footing in a program, that is unless you realize that the current program your in is not going to get you where you are looking to go fast enough with a solid foundation that will last.
Online success is yours to be had...go get it.

Exactly - and online businesses are no different than offline in the fact that ROI (return on investment) is an important factor when you do your research...

So it's a smart idea to spread your risk and efforts among a range of lower, mid and high priced products to guarantee a steady income stream.
Obviously the small ticket items will deliver more unit sales than the expensive ones, but the expensive ones will deliver more money per unit. You'll have to sell 150 units @ $19.95 to gross $3000, but by comparison, only 1 item @ $3000 to gross the same amount.
Quoting: Tadej If you believe in what you sell, it makes things easier. Words of wisdom!
Belief is a very powerful force that can propel you towards your objectives with seeming little effort. It's the thing that can keep you going and positive, while others may be suggesting you should give up.
Quoting: jvco I believe NO ONE can succeed alone. You need a good team working together. I agree!
Success on the Web is really about relationships and people helping people. If you surround yourself with capable trusted people who share similar goals and aspirations, it's a big encouragement factor.
One way to do that is to join a mastermind group. You'll find it to be extremely useful in guiding and supporting you as you work towards achieve your goals.
Great thread!

If I didn't have people online helping me and was left to figure it all out by myself, I'd never make it. I just wouldn't have the patience for it. I'm so thankful for the communities that we have available online.

Yes I agree there. I was struggling when I was left on my own trying to figure it our. Found a great sponsor and some great communities to show me the way.
The cost does not matter you have to believe in the product and stick with it and you will succeed.

the new business,, "Click and Mortar"
I got one that people really like and have fun with, and some of them make enough to buy into the bigger ticket item..
And don't forget just because you love it doesn't mean that someone else will, I never try to sell an opp. just explain it to the best of my knowledge and then if it is not their cup of tea then so be it. And I hope they find a very successful venture. I do try and stay in touch with all of my members and contacts to see how they are doing.. It is neat to hear some of their stories..
Happy Tuesday everyone..

I agree you need a good team. You need a team that has a training program available. A system that anyone can do with many options. What I mean by this is more than someone telling you to go talk to everyone you know about your business, thats it. When I first started out with a company I am no longer with that was pretty much all they gave us as far as training.

Well you are all right about most of this but the most important piece of advice i could offer fellow Network Marketers is find a Program that you like and check forum posts regularly about the business you are looking to join when you find the program that you like and you see it working well for everyone then make some friends who are in that program and set your GOALS you must have a GOAL to build a business or do anything in this world hope this helps have a great day everybody!

I agree madlw that you must find a program you like and enjoy working. I have tried several that I just didn't believe in and well the poor results spoke for themselves. Now that I'm doing something I really enjoy and believe in I have finally experienced success.

Yep as long as you have the passion behind what you are doing, regardless the cost, the market will become available.

Yes - I agree in part, but you need to have a strong interest in helping people or your downline will not grow.
If your product has high cost and limited appeal you will have a limited customer base and you will need to become a great salesman to move volume.
It is important to have a good mix in your business model - product with mass appeal - Affordable product - Effective way of marketing your product - Good compensation Plan - and most important, and Excellent Training and Mentoring program to help your distrtibutors do the same as you.

I totally agree with the above statement. It is everything - good, affordable product, good comp plan and training and mentoring.
Although many would not agree I would look at the longevity of the co. as well and look for something that has been in business over 5 years or has exceptional financial backing and money back guarantee.

1. Do on to others, as you would have them do onto you!
2. Find a product, service, or benefit that you really-really like, and find value in for yourself.
3. Be honest - Nothing is perfect! If you have to lie about - Let it go! Tell the truth and you will be surprised on how people will follow you!

Great topic I have to agree with the point that you have to want to help other people. This is key especially for anyone in the network marketing industry. Many of us (myself included) have forgot who the most important thing in this business, no it is not the company you are with or even the product you are sharing with your friends, family and prospects.
Network marketing is about building 'business partnerships' or 'relationship' with you prospects. If done right your prospects will tell you have to close them, they will give you all of the answers you just have to listen.
thanks
Michelle

Don't forget to use Google to search on any opportunity you are considering. One or two bad reviews is to be expected with any established online marketing company, but if there are tons of them--beware!
An online community or blog specifically for that opportunity is a good thing to have--you can learn a lot from the old pros and from other people's questions.
Any good online marketing company should be able to provide you with some effective tools for finding and generating sales. If not, look further because there are a lot of them.
Just a few thoughts.
Jeremy

What a great motivational flow of posts! After a number of years in network marketing I have finally found the key... and it is a combination of all that's been said here. You have to LOVE your product...passion is crucial. You have to be involved with a financially solvent and ethical company. You have a have a supportive team and the availability of great training. And you have to have determination and a mind-set that realizes that "get-rich-quick" is not reality.
Keep looking until you find a situation that is right for you. Do your research. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Talk to real people. Once you find it, make a commitment and work hard. If you did your research well, the results will come. It has finally happened for me and I know it's not just one thing, but the synergy between all of them that is the key!

I sell clickbank products but in the last year I have moved in to CPA (cost per action) as well, if you find the right product the returns are far higher. I will share my stats with you for Saturday 5th April (and weekend is much quieter that weekdays).
Total revenue from cpa & adsense : $532.61
Total ppc ad costs (Google, Yahoo & MSN) : $63.38
Total profit: $469.23
therefore ad costs were just 11.9% of turnover!
With CPA there are no refunds as you are simply selling leads to another party - whether they manage to sell a product to the lead later on doesn't matter to you as your money for generating the lead is safe!

annadenise: as well and look for something that has been in business over 5 years
Wise to be aware of possible failures in the making, but do not let this cloud your judgement.
Poor and strong companies start all the time. All of the big names in NM today actually started as a "Newbie" and think of what you would be saying to yourself if you passed up the opportunity to join them in the beginning.
I was tainted with bad experiences with MLM in the past, and the frustrations of mis-guided training and motivation. Though I stepped out of the arena for a while I found something new that interested me. With the knowledge of what NOT to do from my previous experiences and after a heap of research on the way they did business - their products etc. I jumped in and I am not regretting it.
If you can be passionate about the opportunity and company, grab ahold of it and run with it as much as you can every day. Your motivation and tenacity will make you a success in it.
(Love this thread)
Regards Paul

I look to a program that gives you advice and guides you through the early process of internet marketing. It can all get overwhelming when you first start out but if you can find the right forum and a good successful guide to get you on your way then i think thats the program to stick to.

Exactly, if you are determined to make ANYTHING work in business, and you are willing to educate yourself, apply solid principles to achieving your goals, and take consistent action while building relationships, you can achieve beyond what your mind had originally set forth in achieving.
