Hi all, 1st post! Andy from the UK.
Been reading the posts on this very informative forum for quite a few weeks now!! I know very little at present about online marketing etc.... but am very keen to learn!!
A have a question about purchasing ready built websites from ebay, namely this:

They say you can start earning money immediately from:
1) GOOGLE ADSENSE 2) EBAY 3) CLICKBANK 4) AMAZON
5)COMMISSION JUNCTION 6) Affiliate Future
So, do these ready built websites work? And can you start earning money straight away? Or is it too good to be true?
I just would like some confidence before I think about spending �995 of hard earned cash!!

I'd stay away from that. That is a lot of money for a ready built website. You could easily build your own for a lot cheaper if you put in a little work.

Thanks for that.
As a web developer, I think I could easily build something the same. Just seemed appealing as everything was all set up (i.e. clickbank, ebay, Amazon etc....).
I think I really ought to sit down and learn this stuff and do it myself (and save �995!)

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the forum.
I would create my own site from scratch. You'd need your own adsense account and affiliate accounts anyhow. That is a lot of money they are asking for.
The only reason I would ever consider buying a domain is for age - over 2 years at minimum and for url name. Even so, url addy name doesn't do much these days for ranking. It only helps for visitors who actually see the url name. They might click on it if it's relevant or known.
If you build a site from scratch it will gain page rank and search engine position if you seo the site, get quality backlinks, and start generating traffic. Short cuts usually prove to be a bad idea especially when they are a thousand dollars, ouchie.
You'll enjoy your site more if you build it yourself.

That seems a bit steep to me. If you don't feel like doing the work, you could probable get someone from Elance to do it for you...

Stay well away! the only ones making money here are those selling these sites for �995. Build your own sites ( I use XsitePro) for a fraction of the cost. Whether you buy this site or create your own, it's the marketing and directing targetted traffic to your site that counts and you can easily sign up to affiliate for thousands of products all by yourself whether it be Clickbank, Commission Junction or whatever.

Welcome Andy!
I would be careful about spending that amount of money on a website without knowing what exactly it is producing for you.
Can they prove the number of hits it is generating? They should also have a good idea of what it is generating in adsense, afiliate links, etc...
I say, build your own - site build it has a pretty good system for that as they teach you how to generate traffic and the whole nine yards.
Happywife is the pro at that so if you see her around, ask her about SBI and check out her sites

Hi Andy,
I checked out that listing as well as some of their other listings. It's possible that they are legit, but there really are no guarantees. Their concept is sound, but who knows if the testimonials are real, their support is reliable, etc.?
To be honest, I wouldn't want to give them access to my computer like they are promoting so they can "help" you, either.
That is a lot of money, but actually, I have found that the going rate for website building is pretty high, and people actually pay it. (Not me ).
It is much safer to build your own site. As Newbie Shield said, you will enjoy it more, for one thing. For another, it will be more "you" because you will write your own content in your own "voice."
Don't worry, once you have the site up and a fair number of pages built, it is pretty easy to add the affiliates that you want to promote.
Also, you can choose to build a site about something you really have an interest in - unless you are really excited about home appliances? 
It is understanding the principles behind the keyword research and content building, backlinks, etc., that makes a site draw free targeted traffic. I'll send you a link for a free Affiliate Course download that explains that in detail. Once you understand the basics, you should be able to fly through it with your background.
