The way you plan your daily work improves your productivity to a great extent. Many know that it's always best to do your most important work in the beginning or when your energy and creativity is maximum. But how many of you actually do it?

Some time back here was my work schedule:

1) Check email
2) Check earnings
3) Check site stats
4) Moderate forum
5) Create and post content

Most of my time was taken up by the top four activities. And the activity which is of most importance and which I should be concentrating more, used to get the least energy.

Many of us spend most of our critical time in less important activities like checking email, stats and earnings. And when the activity that demands most creativity and importance comes, we are exhausted mentally. This literally continues and we always wonder why the effort we put into is not paying!

Just prioritize your daily activities and stick to it, resisting all temptations. And see the difference it brings to your productivity.

Hey Vishal,
Just by coincidence, I posted an article on my Blog yesterday regarding the same thing.
I have found the same basic situation happening myself, doing the right things, but maybe in the wrong order.
I am glad you posted this in the forum, as it could affect many of us in the same way.
Thanks,
Joe

Vishal,

Your post could have been written for me (and Joe, judging from his response). I too am guilty of not consistently arranging my tasks to deliver the maximum productivity with the least effort. Priortizing is indeed the key.

There is also an active ingredient that must be added to the mix to make it work, and that is discipline.

Most of us know intellectually what we ought to be doing to advance our business and reach our goals, but the absence of discipline holds us back and slows us down. Once we cultivate the discipline and correctly order our daily activities, there is really nothing that can prevent us from accomplishing our goals.

Thanks. I needed that!

Hermas

I'm glad that the post was helpful. You know, this the reason I love forums. It has the power to convey messages in short simple posts, instantly, without too many inhibitions.

If I were to write a 800 word article on the same topic, it would have taken me few days (creating a rough draft, fine tuning, proofreading...), though the message to be conveyed would be the same.

Joe: I must admit I did get the motivation to write on the topic after seeing your post In fact I had been thinking to write on the topic since a long time but was waiting for that final push, which your post provided!

Nice post Vishal. For me just writing a daily to do list and crossing things off as I do them seems to keep me focused, motivated and I get important things done.

Thank you for those great tips.

It is so hard to adjust our schedule when we have settled into a routine. But like our businesses, we need to constantly be aware of changes that we can make so that we can be more productive.

My approach is very similar to Jeff's. I make a list each day of the goals that I need to accomplish. I also try to factor in the distractions that happen when you are working from home.

Thanks again,

John

Thanks for the great tips. Since I have just started my online journey, it's always helps to get this kind of advice from people who know.
