The trait that I have noticed in all successful people online is that you have to not only be willing to put in the work (working at home is great but it is still work), but you have to stick with it. Many online opportunities are potentially profitable but may take a while to get them to work. I believe most people give up too soon. So you have to believe in yourself.

True. It took me several months of hard work to start generating a profit.
Now, I don't have to put as much effort into my initial project and it continues to generate income. That is a blessing. Maintenance is definitely important, but it isn't nearly as time consuming as the building of the foundation.
Hang in there everyone!

Actually depending only on Adsense is not a good idea, I feel there is a cap on your income

Quoting: pcwork Actually depending only on Adsense is not a good idea, I feel there is a cap on your income Depending on any once source is somewhat dangerous. It is a good idea to have several different streams going so that if you have a problem with one, you can rely on the others until you find a replacement.
Adsense is limited, of course, but I wouldn't necessarily say it is capped. The more traffic you generate the more your adsense is likely to increase.

Hi SQ625,
Well said, I'm with you. Not everyone realizes that. Not everyone who reads it will believe it. It is quite true though. It does take time and hard work. It starts dripping in at first then it just keeps increasing. The hard work pays off and it's the only way to go about it.

Some sites (in rare cases like the "Drudge Report") can earn a Huge amount from Adsense, but in general it is usually a secondary source of income for a web site.

I have found that taking time to learn new skills also helps drive your business forward.
For example, when was the last time you picked up a book about some aspect of marketing, or even web design, or even a "... for Dummies"?
I have found that for every 6 hours I spend actually doing positive things in my business (marketing, follow up with leads, training) I spend 3 or more hours learning (tele-conferences, web casts, reading, and applying the lessons).
Persistence is key... persistence with your opportunity, persistence with your learning, and persistence with routine... tomorrow never gets here, and yesterday is gone forever.

I found it workable to:
First find the right subject with the correct keywords on an area you are interested/and/or knowledgeable in
Then work on getting it lots of traffic
Then figure out the best ways to monetize.
Then keep building on the site to get more and more traffic, while tweaking to make more income.
There's a lot that goes into each of those steps but I consider it important to really focus on doing one thing at a time and learning as you go so the next will be better.
