Hello everyone, I am very new to this whole concept. I have an insane good idea for an online business, but I am not sure which direction to go in. It's very hard to give out details about it as well. How would I go about starting a business.
Also, I have another question. Is there ways to make money online without spending money. ( other than taking surveys, and trying to get referrals and affiliates )

nubtoast,
A great idea is a very good place to start. If you genuinely do have a great idea for an online business, the best thing to do is to build yourself a website for your business.
This takes time and does cost money. It can cost a little or a lot, depending on how you go about it. You will automatically have to pay for a domain name and hosting (web space). You will also need certain software tools to make your business function efficiently.
You can go around trying to find the cheapest of each item you need and try to integrate them together (my version of a terrifying nightmare) or use a system that is already set up and integrated into a well oiled machine (my version of a dream come true).
Thankfully, just as I was beginning to be overwhelmed and insane over the whole prospect of building an online business, I ran across SBI which provided exactly what I needed to build a successful business.
SBI works out to be about $25 per month for all those things (and more) all set up and ready to go. They also have a marvelous step by step Action Guide that, if you follow it, insures your success. Take a look at what they have to offer (see my signature link) and see if that is something that would fit in well with your great idea.
As to your other question - there are ways to make money without spending money. Sure, you can do surveys as you mentioned or promote affiliate products with article marketing, etc., but I didn't find it really worth my efforts. I wanted to actually build my own business where the ever increasing profits would be mine for the long haul.
I do believe there are some folks on this forum who also make money from things like freelance writing and various other options. Have a look around and check people's signature links. That should give you an idea of what's being done.
If you happen to run across claims of mega riches with almost no work or time investment - skip them. Learn from all of our mistakes. Those are pipe dreams and a waste of time.
All the best.

There are ways of course it really depends on what skills you have. For more the EASIEST(not the easy) way is through affiliate marketing because it is free if done right. If you have a good idea research a bit on how to get it off the ground for technicall questions post them here and we'll be more than happy to help. Or PM me and i'll give you what info I can.
Good Luck.

Hi nubtoast,
Yes, you can make money online with out spending any money at all. It will take longer, but you can do it.
Here is just one example:
1. Choose a niche you know alot about and are comfortable with.
2. Find a good product that represents that niche to become an affiliate of.
3. Write a review about the product (in a conversational tone) and put it on a free space like Squidoo.com or Blogger.com. Make sure to include your affiliate links in the review. If people click on those links and purchase the product, you receive a commission.
4. Write articles about your niche and submit them to places like ezines.com, articlecity.com, etc. make sure to include a link in your authors box that people can click to send them to your review page. (We do this because Squidoo and Blogger will allow affiliate links in the content you write and many of the ezine and article pages will not).
5. Continue writing and submitting articles about your niche and make sure to include a link back to your review site.
Now you are generating free traffic to your affiliate links that will pay you a commission every time someone buys the product. All without spending a dime.
This is a simple example, but you get the idea.
To your success,
Michael

Yeah, I read Bum marketing. I would recommend that anyone who would like to earn some extra online income read it. You can get a copy for free. It was written by a man named Travis Sago.

Hello guys, Thanks a lot for all the helpful and supportive information.
I have successfully launched my site ( its nothing great.....yet ) after only 2 days of getting into this WorkAtHome gig.
Perhaps I did rush it a little, but let me know what you guys think. ( I don't think I am allowed to post links in a reply, so I will put it in my signature. )
