Hi everyone
My name is Thor Sturluson currently living in Copenhagen Denmark. I am trying to find some "work from home" company to join. As I know many of you have been doing this for many years I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could recommend some good company for me to join, I recently became unemployed so I desperately need to make some income as soon as possible. Any suggestions are welcome but please skip the hype and sale pitces. I just want some real information from some real and honest people who have been doing this for some time. Sorry to hear about your job, there are a lot of opportunities out there on the web. The trick is to really do your research so that you don't get scammed or worse. I spent a lot of time doing my own research before I finally made my decision on a really sweet home based businesses called BookWise, but I don't know if it will work for you because your living in Denmark. You also might want to try Income 4 Beginners, I've heard a lot about it and it sound like it will work. So you might want to google it. Best of luck to you!

You have opened the flood gates now for everyone to pitch you their business !
I won't give you a sales patter.
I am with 2 home businesses,1 free and one a $10 monthly fee.
Both have many many thousands of members worldwide and are Better Business Reg.
Both are good companies for learning the ropes of marketing online(which is vital if you want to progress with online business).
Questions you should ask yourself:What are you interested in?What kind of products?
Because any company/programme you do get involved in should have a sound,quality product that people will want to invest their time and money in.
So many online companies market some lightweight product simply to legalise the money pyramid they are really running.
Be careful of these,there are so many.
Mnay people are lured by the promise of instant cash,how easy it is and find themselves very disapointed and with considerably less cash than before.
Both my businesses have quality in-demand products:1 is affliated with thousands of big name companies (Macys,Sears,Traget etc) and the other is based in web products,hosting and domain names which is an industry which is only going to grow larger given the how popular the internet is now.
We provide the tools to all those online you could say

Just have a look around here read a few posts.. you will get to recognise those who are promoting a legitimate business opportunity andnthose who are just here for a 'quick sell' spam..
There are plenty of members here who will give you advice and help you in the right direction but you have to have some idea of how you want to make some cash online..
Look at the sig lines of those members who are providing useful information.. like I said you will be able to recognise the wheat from the chaff quite quickly..

Welcome to the forum. It's a good place to interact and to learn by asking questions.
I have some advice for you. First, you might research the more popular programs discussed in this forum. Collectively, we have pretty much weeded out most of the scams and decided upon which programs are good ones.
You can find this out by reading past posts, checking out signatures, and asking questions.
Then you might go with a program to get a good make money online education. It's a good idea to finish a program entirely and interact here a while before you try to put up a website and make money.
Education before monetization.

I have two kinds of business (see my signature). One is for people who have patience and discipline. This one is free to join. It won't make a lot of money right away, but you will benefit from 10-20% effort of a lot of people in your team (which is much better than 110% of your own effort only). You can check the income potential from calculator page from my business site.
The second business, give you instant payment every time. It is easy to join and very low cost to set up.
Both have high potential with zero to minimal set-up cost.

Hi and Welcome to the forum!
I would check out people's signatures, you'll find alot of good stuff there. Also, check in the folders of specific programs. You can get into profit mode rather quickly, I did it in just one day with one of my businesses, I went into profit mode and it took off. So, it can be done, you just have to be committed. Since you're faced with being unemployed, that's reason enough to put forth the effort.

Are there internet opportunities that require a lot of money out of your pocket? Yes there are. Are there internet scams that just take your money and not work. Yes there are. However, there are honest oppertunities that do make people a very good online income.
In the affiliate marketing world, an affiliate is someone that promotes products, services, and websites for a commission. You are your own boss. You work as much or as little as you please from anywhere there is a computer connection.
When someone clicks on your affiliate link on one of your sites or ads and buys product that you are promoting, you receive a commission. You even receive your commission if that customer who clicked on your affiliate link makes that purchase several weeks later.
So what kind of products can you promote? Physical products, informational products, services, just about anything you can think of. However, I would recommend that you start with services and informational products because with services, you can receive residual commissions (checks that keep coming month after month for as long as the customer is subscribed to the service) and with informational products, you can receive commissions of up to 75% of the sale.
Many of the strategies you can use to get started require very little and even no money at all. You don't even need your own website. Of course once you start making some money you can invest some of those commissions back into your business and really start taking off.
As a business owner, you will want to focus on setting up multiple streams of income. The more income streams you have coming in at one time, the more secure your income is. If you have only one or two income streams coming in and one dries up, you income is cut in half. I would recommend that you promote five to ten products at any given time. Now if any of those streams dry up, you still have a nice income coming in and you can focus on finding a couple more to replace them.

Yes, I read your comments (I even know your name is Thor and not Thengill).
There are a few good home-based business companies out there and there are many scams and rip offs. I think you can read between the lines in most of these posts and fairly easily pick out the bad ones.
The bad ones are the ones that promise you the sky and tell you that it's so easy and doesn't take any time. Bull crappy!!!
As for me, when I was searching for a good home-based business, there were certain things I looked for.
1) It had to be free...because if it were free, then I figured that the company was not just scamming.
2) It had to offer fantastic training.
3) It had to have a passion to help change the world.
4) It had to have a good report from the Better Business Bureau.
5) It had to offer a turn-key operation.
6) It had to offer a product or service that was high in demand.
7) It had to be easy and simple to understand.
Well, Thor, I never thought I would find such a company, but now I know that there is at least one like that out there because after many years of searching, I found one.

You have certainly come to the right place to complement your research on work from home opportunities. You have already received some great advice in this thread alone, so I just want to add to it a bit.
It's very important that you spend quality time researching opportunities. Your current employment situation can make you vulnerable to jump on something that will end up draining your resources. If it sounds too good to be true - it IS!!!
Evaluate what you know and what you love before deciding on a course of action. Your best chance for success will be to stay in a field you are comfortable in.
You will be reading, and probably have already read, many many "testimonials" from successful people in different ventures. Remember to read the small print - "Results will vary".
Do not be discouraged by your location either. There are many international opportunities out there. If you find a product or service that is currently not available in Denmark, but you believe you could provide a strong market for it, contact the company directly & offer to become their first representative or distributor for all of Scandinavia!

You should purchase some kind of eBook that explains Internet Marketing, and there are a lot of them out there! One is all you need to give you the basis to get started. The book should show you how to advertise any kind of business you choose. It will also tell you the different ways to make money online, with or without a website. I have not been doing this a long time, so I don't want to lead you on, but I was lost before I finally bought one those eBooks and read it. They really do clear up a lot of questions about Internet Marketing. Most of them will give you website addresses where you can get free stuff or advertise for free.
As far as working from home, I'm not the most experienced, but people seem to have a lot of success with Travel related products and Software related products. They both pay huge commissions. Affiliate marketing is working for some people too, but you have to find the right product. You can sign up with Clickbank for free and see what kinds of products they offer and the commission rates. Wholesale dropshipping is another way to make money and some of the companies will give you a free website, but you have to pay for hosting.
With any of these biz opps, you will have to learn how to advertise and get traffic to your website or your affiliate's website. If you join an MLM type business, make sure you get with a good team, as they can help you advertise because it benefits them too. If you sign up with a dropshipper, do not rely on them to advertise for you because it won't be enough.

There are a lot of businesses that you can do from anywhere including Denmark. Just as was said above look at the signature lines and see what others are doing and you can make a choice for yourself. This is a good place to get some help. I currently am working two opportunities and in six months (or sooner) will be able to replace my J-O-B income and I can officially quit the J-O-B. So good luck with your search.

Sorry to hear of your situation. What are you looking to do Thor are you looking for a job that can be worked from home or are you looking for a business opportunity, and in what type of industry if this is what you are interested in.

I've found that affiliate marketing holds the most promise for a profit. You can find a product in any field that interests you, thereby making your job a lot more interesting. But make sure that you take the time to learn how to do it properly.
