Hello,
I'm Kate, a SAHM of Rachel (14mo), Simone (2), and Jason (5) and need to start bringing home the bacon! No, but seriously, my hubby's carpentry business is going downhill right now so I've bene trying to work from home but have been scammed already. Any suggestion on where to start for someone with very little skills to offer? And that doesn't ask for money upfront??? Can't wait to see what you're all doing from home!

well I don't know what it's like to be a stay at home mom or dad since I am only 18 but I do know what it's like to want to find a way to bring home some money to help family. Ever since the divorce my mom has had alot of trouble raising three kids on a single income so aside from my job as a server I decided to find a way to make money online since I spend so much time on the computer anyways. After a couple months of scams and a couple thousand headaches I have found a program that has worked for me time and time agian and for the past three months I have generated more them $5000.00 in leads. The program is called wealthy affiliate and with all the tools and training they give you for starting up it's the best thing I have come across so far. From your own website domain and creation, to training materials and guides to an active forum of affiliates who help each other and share success stories, tips ect. It is by far the best of the best (at least for me) Although there is a startup cost of $30.00 I can guarantee you it is would be worth your time to do your research. I got sick of the scams real quick and now that I have found something that works I want to share it with anyone else who has struggled like I have. Don't get me wrong it's not easy starting up but if you are willing to do some work and get the ball rolling, you will be more then satisfied. Also if you really want some money making opportunities that are free of cost, check out my chamber of commerce blog in my link, you won't generate thousands a month but you can rest easy knowing they have been tested for ya

Hi Kate,
The thing about genuine home businesses is 98% of them require investment. Like any business you would start yourself, like your own company, the investment is part of going into business. However, for a FRACTION of the cost to open a traditional business, you can run a business from your home with almost no overhead.

There are many many different things you can do from home. First question to ask yourself is what do you enjoy doing? Then the next step is to find out if you can make money doing that thing!
There are many resources for finding different ways to make money. If you can write, you can create a blog, place some advertisements and affiliate links on it, and then start making money right from home. It takes time and effort but there are ways to start from nothing. I recommend that you read [Link removed - Admin] It's one of the blogs featured in my website in the link in my sig, and it takes a very simple and thoughtful approach to starting out making money at home. It's especially good for newbies because it explains how to start out and what things to consider. You can also check my sig for different ideas from other people who make money online.
You can also go to http://craigslist.com and check your local area to see if there are any gigs you can pick up depending on your skills.
It is possible to make money from home. It takes time, but it's possible.

As a quick income I would just suggest a daycare at home or something along those lines. For the most part any online business is going to take some time to get going. From time to time you will find someone who made it big very fast, however the overwhelming majority tend to take the slow road...only in that it is generally the only road. I would definately suggest looking at everyone's sigs to get some ideas as what is out there. Most are willign to help and of course we will all try to get you to sign up with what it is each of us is doing...if only because we tend to believe in what we are doing...
With that said visit my site. If you have the time to invest, but not a whole lot of money then I can help out. HOWEVER if you need money right away I would definately go with a part time job that rpomises money...(it shames me to say it but i mean a real live work in a story of office job) possibly during the night if your husband works during the day.
Incedentally if you own your own home and have equity in it then you could check out the second link in my sig. It is not a loan consolidation, however it could potentially help save you money both short and longterm. I have a friend who just signed up and was able to use the program to pay his van off in one quick payment and now has an extra 300+ dollars a month...

Hi I am in the same boat. I do have a full time job but have got sick and won't be able to keep doing it much longer. I needed to find something that I could do from home. I have looked at quite a few work from home businesses. I am now on to it!

I work as a medical transcriptionist at home and make good money, but it is not for everyone. There is tons of medical lingo and you need to be able to type at least 40 wpm to get going and make decent money. On the other hand, it can be terribly interesting and, again, you can make pretty good money doing it. If you are interested in MT work, just research, research, research to find the right school and company to work for.

Like what several others have said, the best way is to consider some things that you're good at, and do some research to see what others who are doing the same thing are charging for their services. If you'd rather go with something that already has products you can just promote and earn from, then consider what kinds of products you'd feel comfortable promoting. It doesn't have to be juices, lotions, potions or pills. Doesn't have to be ebooks or software. There are tons of options out there, you just have to look for them.
Even with something like an in-home daycare, you'll run into overhead. Not to mention, there's a lot that you'll have to do to become qualified for that (your home will have to be inspected, you'll need a license in some cities/states, you need good legal aid, you'll have to register your business with the federal government and so on). That's essentially no different from starting a franchise or brick & mortar business. The only difference is that you wouldn't have to pay rent for office space or purchase commercial property.
My fiancee and I were recently searching for a home, and saw a great need for better photography from realtors in our local area. We were thinking perhaps the realtors are too busy to take adequate (or enough) pictures of what potential home buyers want to see. So we've developed plans for a real estate photography and virtual tour business that we'll be launching next month. This won't take anything but the use of our digital cameras, and creating websites (which I do already). If nothing else you could do something similar, find a service or product that's lacking in your area, and see how you can go about providing it.
Aside from that, the others are right. Most good opportunities (just like brick & mortar franchises) require some sort of investment or start-up costs. And those that don't seriously limit the amount that affiliates can earn. I'm also with a home business program, and I'm happy that we're able to earn 100% commissions from our efforts. I honestly wouldn't work for anything less (because you'd be putting in the same amount of effort to promote a free program as you would a higher ticket program, but you'd earn much less). It all comes down to what you can spare, and how much time and effort you're willing to put in to make it work. Whatever you decide, be sure not to invest any more than you can afford to lose. That's always a good rule of thumb.

Hello I'm new here.. I'm too looking for work online. I am always online. I been scammed a lot of times with no success. But I am determined to find a comfortable income working at home. I just don't know where to begin...  If any one can just lead me in the right direction...Thanks

Hi Kate,
I hope you will find something that is just right for you. Building an online income does take time, but if you are willing to be persistent and patient, you will be able to start generating an income that is pretty steady.
I'll tell you what I did/do as something to give you an idea of the possibilities. I tried a couple different options without success, but then found a program that helps you build your own website on whatever niche subject that interests you.
I started my first site about chocolate candy (needless to say, I love chocolate). I don't actually sell products myself at this point (although that is an option available if I decide to go that route). What I did was build a site all about different types of chocolate candy. For each type, I have signed up with candy sellers and earn a commission from sales generated through my site.
For instance, someone visiting my site clicks on the link to Fanny May Candies and makes a purchase. I get a 10% commission from the sale.
Also, if you look at my site, you will notice I have Google Ads and ebay links. I earn advertising fees from those, too.
This is just one of the ways to build a business online. It works for me, and I have really enjoyed learning the process. I didn't have the first idea of how to build a website (still don't know much), but the program that I use to host, build and maintain the site has a really great step by step guide and video tutorials that take you step by step through the process. You don't have to learn html code or anything else.
It is just one avenue to consider. If you have a hobby, interest, or passion, it is a good idea to choose that to build your online business since you already have a knowledge base and will probably enjoy it more than anything else.

you can try signing up with an affiliate marketing site and thats free then promote products online. Its not hard and can earn good money.

Hi Guys!
I got started in this Internet marketing business while looking for home-based medical transcription jobs, and I am glad that I took a second look (third,fourth & fifth)  .
If you are willing to learn and work, you'll definitely be well compensated in this business. So I figured that if I put my heart out doing med-trans job (with pressure but with a definite and sure monthly pay) I might as well try that same dedication with online marketing (work your heart out, with less pressure but the pay depends on how you work on it).

Try to learn affiliate marketing because it is the easiest to learn and apply before proceeding with a real full blown Internet marketing business. Pick a comprehensive course that will teach you all these from the basics up to the complex stuff.
I suggest you evaluate yourselves and just like what opendomain said check the forum for anything that you think would interest you because nobody works on something that don't interest them, right?

Find a $7 report or private label right product, get a PayPal account, joina few traffic exchanges, and get to work. It is a lot of fun to work at home full time and make money online!:

As everyone has said, it depends on how quickly you need to improve your finances.
Affiliate marketing is a slow process but the rewards do come. There is loads of good information available on the net on how to go about this.
You can also start a blog and add merchant and google ads. Simply write about something you know and the ideas will flow. Then you can join Pay per post for extra income.
There is also freelance writing for organisations such as Elance.com.

I agree with the ones that say first find out what YOU personally enjoy doing. Don't sell yourself short by saying you have very little skills, because you do and your using an important one now, communicating. The first thing you should do is read, read, and then read some more. I would start on this site and read about peoples stories, good and bad. Information is the key to a successful business at home or not. You must know what you are doing and plan carefully. Congratulations on your choice to work at home. There are many quick income and long-term income methods, incorporate both if you can.

You can give internet marketing a go, but realize that there is learning curve...the best place to start out, in my view, is Wealthy Affiliate.
